- Arne Slot is due to become the next Liverpool Manager Head Coach and He must make 4 key decisions this summer including the futures of Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander Arnold, Mo Salah and all of the out of contract players like Thiago, Matip and Adrian.
Additionally, he must decide on a formation and make sure he gets all the wingers his formation and tactics need to turn the tide of a match. Hopefully Arne Slot is spending his time reading Miyazaki Man translations of Wataru Endo book Duel!

Seriously need to move some players on and buy fighters. Some I would like are Kudus, Williams and Gimenez. I think we have enough in youth that can cover and we can either give Sepp his overdue chance or buy a ready made CB (swap diaz for Kounde).
Outs: diaz, matip, adrian, thiago, tsamikas, phillips and salah (need the transfer money and downhill) with some youth.
As an LFC fan, I'm depressed after missing out on the Premiership. But I am happy to listen to you speak.

His legs fell off but he’ll have that experience in the first team and come back stronger for the experience. I’d love to see someone like Olise, he has a bag of tricks & that low center of gravity. I would like to see a change of formation, with 3 at the back, but it seems FSG have already vetoed it. I am intriugied to see the new look Liverpool but it may be some years before we are back at the very top challenging for the title.
I actually think Slot is quite good at filling the bodies into midfield and it's likely we create an imbalance to allow 1 of the full back to constantly push up whilst the other tucks in, so in a way, its a 3 on offense and a 4 on defense

Great analysis, epecially TAA's best role. I have to add the role change for Salah from focal point of attack to a creative influence has been Klopp's biggest fumble in his entire Liverpool reign.

With hindsight, Salah should have been sold last year.
Out of all the wingers in the market currently I think Johan Bakayoko makes the most sense. Slot is familiar with his work, I'd like to see us go for him.

On Trent I agree 100% on your analysis, he's fragile and one dimensional, if situation changes he easily get lost loosing his positional bearings and end up jogging about during the course of the game
I know it's a LONGSHOT but I think 24y/o left winger Maxi Araujo from MX side TOLUCA could fit into that left wing spot for L'pool. He's young, aggressive, fast and has great ball skills. And I don't think he'll come with a huge price tag.
Apprehensive but excited to see the direction Slot and Edwards take LFC next season. As good as TAA has been for us, I just don't see how he fits into this team. He can't defend, and he's not strong enough for the battles in midfield. He is a luxury player, who in all honesty doesn't fit our style anymore. When we had our formidable trio of Salah Mane and Bobby, we got away with Trent's weaknesses as we'd outscore teams. We just don't have that killer transition anymore. Trent has become a liability. I would sell trent to Real and cash in on Salah whilst we can this summer. Bring in Kudus and Bradley on the right. Frimpong would be perfect, but cannot see that materialising.
I agree with this, the only way I can see us playing with trent is if we play a back 5 and trent plays as a rwb.
Salah is still the biggest name in Arabic football. I was all for Salah renewing but he falls off a cliff after AFCON. I would make any extension dependant on him quitting international football. We simply cannot afford a player on Salah's wages falling off a cliff in the 2nd half of 2025-26. We probably can't afford to let him go for free at the end of next season either... So maybe a 1yr extension and to sell him next summer - in short I agree with you...

I think Jarrod Bowen's contract expires at West Ham end of next season...if Salah leaves, he's my favourite replacement.
He signed a new 5year contract this season paying him 170k PW he is 27. We ain't buying Bowen mate. The fee alone would be 70/80m nah that transfer just isn't happening. Good player, age and wage against it.
In terms of that out and out left winger/playmaker that you mentioned, if we do not get one in the transfer market, I'd argue that Elliot could be trained to play that role, he's got the tekkz, got that playmaking esque about him, I think he can excel in that position if Slot decides to develop him there.
Given the news and speculation over the last few days + the impending arrival of AS, I see the following happening (or not):
I don’t see wholesale changes to the current squad and first team. Contracts to tie down for TAA, VVD and MS.
In terms of outgoings, in lieu of recent speculation around MS staying at least another year, I am sure this would mean one of the front 5 will be leaving. Could be Nunez or Diaz.
I’m hoping players like CJ , IK and HE are sold, they have hit a ceiling in my opinion at LFC. Both CJ and HE would thrive much better at a level down from LFC, an Aston Villa or West Ham. IK has become too unreliable, a move to PSG could work out well for all parties.
In terms of incomings, I don’t see too much activity. Having said that, I can certainly see a CB + left sided winger coming in. Perhaps Geertruida and Summmerville. If CJ and HE are sold or just looked at as squad players, then I can see a scenario where we may even try to sign a DM, perhaps a Weiffer. I fully expect Endo to become our backup DM.
Now the most interesting aspect of the new setup will be how AS chooses to utilise TAA. I always thought if Salah is leaving then that would allow DS to move into Salahs position, allowing TAA to kind of partner AM in the attacking midfield roles. However, with MS reportedly looking to stay, I can see TAA becoming one of the 2 DMs. But no way should TAA continue to be a RB or RW.

I just heard Salah intends to stay. Salah has to go. Not because we hate him but because he is clearly declining. To anyone who would try to say it's because he had an injury, so he is just out of form the entire season he has shown his decline. The stats prove it. Don't look at just the g/a, look at the shooting and passing accuracy. He can't dribble anymore, and he is becoming slower. Does anyone remember the last time Salah bended a shot into the top corner? The only thing that's been carrying Salah is his football iq. So unless he is ok starting off the bench (which he is not) he has to go.
I actually would look at the possibilities of Salah going too, but I also think he adds alot of value and stability on and off the pitch, as long as dont consider him the main man. I would cash in, but I dont think there is a buyer at the right price point, which makes it a difficult call. He is definitely a good option, but I wouldn't think even Saudi would bid above 70 million, so its a case of losing that experience and chemistry with the team for the risk of a new signing matching his goals this season.
