    Arne Slot will have to make some crucial changes this summer in the transfer window in order for Liverpool to make the next step and play to his tactics.
    We explore how the Liverpool squad currently stacks up in terms of strikers, forwards and midfielders in terms of what Slot is looking to do with the team. Will Darwin Nunez prove to be Liverpool's number 1 striker under Arne Slot and will Mo Salah leave Liverpool? Are the links to Matts Wiefer and Geertruider realistic?

    Way too many of these voices talk about who fits in statistically or just doing it like football manager or fifa - but my boy here understands that personality and attitude are what plays the one of the biggest role in signing players on top of their skills. Looks at fifa signing clubs like Man U and Chelsea - Keep at this lad probs my fav liverpool channel out there as a dedicated fan of 30 years

    First 40 seconds made me instantly subscribe. I've seen a few vids from you before but that just sealed the deal. Class commentary! It's very refreshing to hear the take of someone that is willing to show their support for the players as opposed to someone that expects a title winning standard and nothing else. I do personally feel like Tsimi has maximised his value already (on the pitch) and would like a replacement :) I will say Owen Beck has shades of Robbo in his game, I hope he can make some appearances this upcoming season. In terms of Salah and Diaz we'd be fools not to a least look into their value considering we'll have to win without Salah at somepoint, and I just personally don't see Salah being much of a facilitator, old habits die hard. Diaz as much as he passes the eye test and I love him, doesn't facilitate or attempt to enough for the team for me, hardly any chemistry and tbf it's not just him. If the moneys right I'd wish them the best is all I can say. Also completely feel the same about the midfield signings you mentioned, I just think it'll be so hard to take Doug Luiz from Villa's project with Emery. Great incite in this video though!!! Can't wait for the next!

      Thank you mate, much appreciated! I think Slot, Edwards and Hughes also have to weigh up the harmony in the squad and how popular Salah and Diaz appear to be and will have to balance disruption, with the potential for signings to settle in, especially in this first season. He plays how we used to play ball in 2018/19 season. When it was all about pressing from the front, starting with the front 3 in Mane, Faminho, Sslah. The main engines in midfield without the ball doing relentless pressing Jordan Henderson & Adam Lallana they were like 2 hungry sharks out there. When we played like this, opposition could barely get out of their own half. The amount of gaols we scored just by nicking the ball in the opposition half and scoring on them was crazy. Lol 😅 This is how Klopp and his mate with the black curly hair had us playing every week. I forgot that guy name, who joined Lfc with Klopp. Once he left, I noticed that style of play went with him. Apologies, as I forgot the man but I believe he was the one responsible for that pressing style of play. Klopp still done great things without him. But I noticed that Klopp couldn't manage that style of play by himself.

    This vid is why I really enjoy this channel. Pragmatic positivity and level-headed analyses here are just the tonic to lift the spirit after a disappointing close to the season. Great stuff, man. Love it!
    As for players, I feel like we have a lot of potential already in the squad that deserves a chance on their own merits; on that front, I agree that Klopp didn't really trust the youngsters until his hand was forced. Conor was a revelation; McConnell showed he didn't care which big name star was in front of him; and Dannsyboy was cool and composed as can be in front of goal. Not using them more, especially Danns up front was a poor move and I don't buy the "put too much pressure on them line". In any case, we have fair number of players -especially midfielders - and I hope the new regime gives them a fair chance before sendin in their shopping list.
    Few random thoughts, some of which you touched on:
    * Endo gets written off almost by all the usual punditry. They complain about his form of late. Bugger that. Everyone has been run ragged. They are not machine. More importantly, though, is Endo is held back a bit by Klopp's instructions/tactics/whatever. To me, it seems like his normal game is the quick transition of the ball and not the slow, hand-off to other players we have him doing. Yes, it's tidy and maintains control but he has much more to offer than that. He's always scanning before the ball comes to him. He knows where he's sending the ball well before he gets it. We've seen his line breakers. we've seen the quick outballs to runners. I hope the new regime doesn't focus on his age or whatnot and, instead, unleash him.
    * #10 looks like a good fit for these wee players we've been collecting and sending out on loans -players like Carvalho. For his all around game, this looks like a fit for Mc Allister but I wouldn't hate on seeing Elliott play his role not unlike what Wirtz does. I mean he's already got the energy to drop deep, press deep, push up, spread the ball around, etc.
    * For the box-to-box role, I'd like to see Gravenberch get some more chances there. He's improving and can probably keep the ball better that some others.
    * Szoboszlai is getting burned out much too fast as the box-to-box. I feel like using him as winger could be a boon -as pointed out, that rocket pass to Mc Allister was outstanding!
    * Nunez looks...broken, as if his wiring's been messed with too often between the earlier days and now. Maybe with a new coach and a new setup he can get back to being better in front of goal. He does too many invaluable things off the ball for us to not get him firing again.

    • @liverpooljapan
      @liverpooljapan  Před 22 dny +2

      Thank you mate, really appreciate the effort and support you give in the comments! We definitely have a really good roster of youngsters who can make an impact and make a name for themselves. Gone are the days oh John Welsh and Ritchie Partridge being our big hopes. Endo is an easy target, but he stood up and dominated the biggest of games. He is much better moving the ball quick, but Klopp seems to want him to play safe. We have alot of quality 10's potentially and I am excited to see how Slot fits them in. I agree that Nunez needs to be allowed to play his natural game and I hope Slot really finds the way to get him into the groove. YNWA

    Quite surprises that you also identified Archie Gary. I would love to see him joining Liverpool but he and his family members are true Leeds friends which would make the deal be more difficult.
    In addition, I think Youssouf Fofana would be a great addition to the squad. He is strong, fast and great at man-marking which can add depth to the squad. And most importantly, little injury.
    If Salah is going to somewhere, I think Nico Williams and Benjamin Sesko would be a good options.

    It seems projections from content creators is to move Dom into that 10 role, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved backward to take advantage of his skill set and physical measurables....
    He's tall, strong, and possesses good/great straingt line running speed for recovery and breaks. He has great ball striking technique that lends itself to long passes and long shots, the later which would fall to him in space if he was a "cover" player in the final 3rd rather than a line of 5 attacker. He can turn, has decent dribbling, excels in tight spaces and is good in small give amd go situations to break presses. His commanding pressence would play out more in the deeper role, and he would benefit personally from the responsibility.

    • @liverpooljapan
      @liverpooljapan  Před 21 dnem +1

      I do wonder though because Dom has a fantastic engine and shooting and crossing are 2 of his outstanding attributes, so you are taking away his offensive threat in favour of a more disciplined controlled role, which he has the technique for, but he hasn't really consistently been played deeper internationally or at club football.

    • @candaon7832
      @candaon7832 Před 21 dnem

      @liverpooljapan It would admittedly be taking him from his traditional role and using him in a new manner, and there would be sacrifices made to make the change. I recently heard a Thomas Sowell quote that I think is applicable..."There are no solutions, only trade-offs," While Sowell isn't always on point for me, this quote fits well for this particular situation.
      I feel his engine and speed would be used in the forward pressing of the oppo out ball in our final 3rd, recovery if that ball is not won, as well as laterally in cover situations with forward thinking fullbacks.
      His crossing would probably be limited to the occasional ball from the deep half space pocket during a deep recycle situation when he was part of the wide triangle. According to FBref, he completed 6 crosses into the penalty area from open play (which seems low from my eye), so there is no a huge sacrifice.
      His long shooting would benefit, imo, from playing a cover role because the space he would receive the ball when the ball is rejected out of the mixer or when it's recycled back to him while the defense is still deep.
      Again, I understand it's a non-conventional thought, considering his footballing history, but I feel it could be beneficial based on his production for us this year and his obviously physical and technical skills.
      Either way, I'm excited about next season and the opportunity to see a different minds approach to our football.

    What do you think about Moukoko to Liverpool? Turns 20 this year, "former" wonderkid that hasn't been prioritized over Haller and now Füllkrug. Has been linked as a "long-term" target to Liverpool for at least a couple years. 179, explosive physique and can finish. He's my dream signing this summer to compete with Darwin and Jota. He REEKS of a Coutinho-esque signing; approx. 20 years that used to be a crazy wonderkid where the hype decreased the last couple years but still an attractive prospect, playing for a great club but not absolute top (Inter vs Dortmund).

      Players have the aptitude to adapt and evolve, but only if they believe in the manager, put the effort in and actually want to. Sometimes though, things come naturally and things like holding on to the ball too long is a trait that is hard to shift, especially on the mental side. For example, Fabregas and Xavi had the ability to move their body and move the ball on to the right place forwards before it has even arrived. Curtis Jones is so secure with the ball but needs a touch or two to get it into the right place to even give himself a chance to offload is progressively, a bit like Wijnaldum.

      Tsimikas could be key in unlocking the delivery from the left side from deeper positions if Robertson is having an off game. Somewhat like Aurelio!

    We need a new number 6 imo don't think Endo and Bajetic will be enough for us

    • @nigl2807
      @nigl2807 Před 22 dny

      Personal it will be Endo, Bacjectic and Morton. Depending how Morton how he has upped his physicality , he might be more of a deep lying playmaker (dare I say Thiagolite). Arne has to give everyone a chance and that includes our promising players. Edwards won't go for a pricey high profile player unless a. Guaranteed to explode or b. Someone we need along the spine ie GK or commanding CB (both a dire need until we got Alison and VVD)

    I would agree if they score goals but Liverpool misses 4 of the 5 chances, the can't score easily, they must buy a goalscorer a striker who scoor,
    Nunez score 5 out of 27 chances, 2e division, he can buy Kopmeijers from Atlanta and he's a top winger, Diaz can take the place of Nunez if he stays but i have heard that he want to go on looking for another team [Spain],
    here in the Netherlands say the press that there will go 5 or 6 players out of Liverpool.
    the number 10 must be for Salah, he gets to slow for the winger [if he stays] and he would be a danger around the striker.

    • @nigl2807
      @nigl2807 Před 22 dny

      Jota is clearly our most clinical forward (when he isn't injured). Nunez has elite movement and physicality. IF he learns to maintain composure and finish he will be a monster. IMHO he gets a year to improve under Slot. Also think we either fast track Danns or buy a backup finisher . Diaz is probably gone.. Incoming winger
