Very nice. Any idea how I can make my two grand sons some wooden trains and tracks for Christmas? I made my son and daughter wooden toys when they were 1 and 3 and now they are 25 and 27 and their kids play with them today. They didn’t know back then it was because I went from fine to a wheelchair and we lost everything we had and it’s all I could do for their Christmas. Wooden doll house complete with wooden shingles and wooden furniture. (Vanity had a mirror made from my wife’s old makeup Compaq). My son had an 18 Wheeler, cars, plains and boats. All made from scrap 2x4 pine and 1x4 cedar fence from where they were building g fences and throwing them away. Tools were grate too. Skill saw, jig saw and a drill. Made a homemade table saw, inverted scroll saw with the jig saw and used a can crusher and the drill to make a drill press. Wasn’t much but today it means a lot to them since they know the story now. Anyway. Sorry for rambling. But I was thinking of a small wooden briefcase like box that you could open up and it had a stationary round track on the outside so when you open it each half made a circle and the inside held the train. Again sorry just was curious for ideas if you could. A special Thanks from Texas And love your toys!

Wow, Rob. Inspirational story. With your ingenuity I don't think I could add much value for you. The box idea with the track on top sounds like a good idea. As you can see, I've made a straight rail. The round version would add complexity but could be done with my method providing the rail was narrow enough to bend. For train plans I recommend going to aschisworkshop.com. they are low cost and delivered by email. Good luck with the build.

Hi Edward. I purchased the plans from Toys and Joys in the USA. They are full size that can be used as templates. I am hoping to build other similar train in 2018.
      Cheers
