Love your content, I'm a CDL Driver...
You need to adjust the "slack adjusters on your air brakes. Look it up to see the process, then your brakes won't howl...
How have you had this for over a year already? wow time flies.
I thought the same thing
Think about it.. most CZcams creators are delayed on posting.. Unless it's a super current event. You would notice it more. When you follow their ig stories
Dude, no shxt... Wow.
Are you telling me that I’ve watched this channel for this long??? I initially came in when the bus first came on the scene. Dang!! I actually have enjoyed everything else Taylor made so far. Will be a lifetime subscriber for sure!!
It’s been 10 months.
Taylor, any video that you have "renovation" "upgrading" "making better" etc just makes me jump with joy because you do the best work and the fact that you are always wearing black in Florida heat scares me a bit but you do it all the time.
A true floridian. I'm from Florida and could never.
Ok bot
pretty sure that's all this channel is now, buy something busted, fix it up, keep it for a year, don't really use it then sell it to buy something else busted
@@KiwiPhil. I'm all here for it though 😎
Drifting is more fun for the driver and when being there live, i do understand why he films it, but kinda becomes boring unless something special.
But you can also see that these type of videos just perform better and Taylor has to make a living to fuel his drifting career.
I’m in south Florida, few miles off the water, super hot and humid but don’t wear anything but black pants, boots, and a black shirt to work outside
Let's schedule a session to laser engrave the panels. I am the proud owner and operator of a laser engraving company.
I love that you have a neighbor who invites you over for a celebration. That's community
if you decide to use led strip lighting... please use the aluminum rails along with the diffuser!! Just so it doesn't look like a cheap party bus! I made that mistake once when doing ambient lighting on a bus!! lol
It sounds like you need to check the adjustment on the slack adjusters for the brakes. You just run it all the way in and back them off 1/4 turn. You'll have to release the parking brake to adjust the parking brakes but it's the same thing run it all the way in and back them off 1/4 turn. There should be a tab on the side of the slack adjusters that you pull out on to back the brakes off the 1/4 turn.
“We are on the struggle bus” don’t know if you realized how comical that was 😂
As an RV tech myself, working on old diesel coaches in general are my nightmares for sure 😂 All white wires are actually pretty common on these unfortunately.
Exit ramp speeds are designed for cars, 4-wheelers. Big trucks, buses need to be 5 mph under the posted speed limit. But this is only a gauge, do what you’re comfortable with. Always be safe and don’t let the vehicle behind you drive your vehicle.
As a truck driver, that's a LOT of light at night. I wouldn't be about to handle all that. I turn off and dim EVERYTHING in the truck.
Yeah way too much
I was gonna say the same. Can you do the dash and well lights on a dimmer? Those rock lights are WAY too bright
Same, can't stand always on light.
Red light district on wheels 😂
My Saab used to have a night display button that turned everything off except the speedo up to 55mph and then showed the rest of the Speedo when you hit 50mph, but that’s it, everything else was off
Taylor ray is the best car CZcamsr. Videos are so clean long enough to watch them and if you’re not paying attention you can pick up what he’s doing or talking about!
Just smoked, just sat down for CZcams to relax. Uploaded 30seconds ago. Couldn’t have been a better day baby. Thank you Taylor for the content man
@@SK3LLLY I just sparked up as the notification came through, impeccable timing!
Marijuana user’s try not to mention marijuana challenge:
Difficulty: impossible
@@Constabruity yeah tbh you hit the nail on the head... I'm not inviting you to my party now :(
@@Constabruity So true, they can't help themselves but to announce it for some reason. I swear the FD livestreams are 70% 16 year old kids who think smoking is really cool (it isn't.) No one cares, it isn't as cool as they think it is, and like a quarter of the population does it so it isn't like it is something special. Just a collective eye roll from all the people who see the comments that are actually out doing something. Lol. You wanna smoke, drink, take giant dumps, wear your thong backwards, whack it to midget porn, lick your own toes, etc - good for you. The rest of us just don't care / want to hear about it every time you do it. Lol.
@Constabruity sounds like some needs to get high... 😂
If it’s not turned up but it’s blowing smoke, check air cleaner restriction and pressure test the intercooler
It's old school it's gonna black smoke a Lil
A injector service may be in order also.
@@slysithejuicegy overhead/tuneup probably not a bad idea as well
On your popping when you turn: I’d check out the king pins, spring shackles, and u bolts on the steer axle. My bet is it’s one of those 3 things.
And on that M11 - Solid small blocks! My very first big rig had one. I had it updated with a bigger file and it was at 500/1550 after that. Plenty of power to pull 80,000lbs around all day. I’m sure the bus would like that little extra power gain!
I would be so in for a full bus restoration. Pull it all out let’s gooooo.
I giggled a little when you were talking about the ambient lighting of modern cars and such -
I pictured the bus as cavernous as it must be when you're driving, and you're rolling along and all of a sudden you catch some light out of the corner of your eye and you panic for 30 milliseconds before realizing it's just the corner of the huge bus. No real harm for it, save an extra few heartbeats for 10 seconds, but enough to make the change
Air leaks are one
Of the those rabbit hole situations.you fix one 2 more pop up. As long as it holds 125ish cruising you’re fine.
Love how the transport bus is coming along....usability is key along with those creature comforts when it comes to long haul trips so it's awesome to see you incorporate so many featues.
love the bus content. Im amazed how paitent and level headed you are with stuff like this. I would probably be cursing up a storm seeing the wiring project someone made for you. Sometimes when im working on my own car I think of how level headed you are and it keeps me the same.
Hey Tyler just wanted to let you know that being that bus is an MCI, you should be able to twist the horn to telescope the wheel !
I wasn't thinking about buying a bus... now I'm buying a bus.
🤣😋🙂 easily one of my favourite channels 🤟
😎👍
Lighting turned out super awesome!!! That roof light is like it was meant to be.
I'm a glutton for punishment too, I really enjoy when you work on this bus, did a lot of this kind of stuff back in the day. looking forward to you exploring the suspension.
Can't wait to see the new ambient lighting in action at night!
Those 120v. LED strip lights are great I did a job at a machine shop and installed them they are so bright and no shadows in the shop.
Everytime j see you post a video saying first drive in over a year it reminds me of how fast time is going by from the day i first started religiously watching you back when you built the fummins to now always amazing content.
I don't jump for joy but I do enjoy every video. Love the bus
"We are on the struggle bus" is a pun during a very stressful part of the process I'm not sure was on purpose or not but I loved it
Perfect falling asleep video. Thanks Taylor.
Dude it looks sick!!! Happy Birthday Neighbor!! 🤘🏽
Keep the bus videos coming! I've had the idea for pretty much exactly what you have for almost a decade now. I need to just buy a bus and start working
Those lights are dope! I’m doing it on my 87 iroc now!
Its insane to think i just drove by your place a day ago and now im half across the us at home watching your videos
Really enjoyed the POV bus driving! Thank's for taking us along!
I always blows my mind when there's more than one butt connector on a wire. Definitely agree on the end to end wiring.
i like the bus its a solid unit plus happy bday to your neighbor
When I was a young kid(too young), my Dad who is a long haul truck driver, would have me "drive" the truck while he moved all over the cab investigating rattles and fixing them. He would have me hit pot holes on purpose to make it rattle. Now rattles and vibrations bug me too.
Sweet! I Was waiting for a RV video.
OUTSTANDING !!!! AWESOME RIG 😎
Always great videos
Something I think would be cool for the driving experience and ambient looks is '''Car interior laser wire' that you fit into panel gaps. Not the ceiling starlight thingy. But maybe that too
I don't think you could come up with a better name than "The Struggle Bus" Perfect fit for it. Love the vids, and keep em coming!
Good work!
great work!
For the A/C control on your dash that randomly works when you try to switch it on, remove the cover and try to clean the on/off switch with a contact cleaner. I used Deoxit D5 spray that I purchased from Amazon, and it fixed mine. If the cleaner doesn't fix it, check for broken traces on the circuit board near switch. I purchased a Circuit Scribe Conductive Ink Pen from Amazon in case I needed to repair the traces.
Deoxit is great!
i really like the bus content. plus you doing mods with items you have.. love that.
I was thinking the boat stuff was gonna just keep going. Welcome back
Love the bus series
I would love to see infinity lights in those cubbies it would be an easy way to fill the space! Love the process!!
Check your balljoints and kingpins in the front if youre getting popping noises while turning. And you should check your slack adjusters, you said you were using all the pedal to stop and that should not be the case. I hardly get into the pedal on my work truck and itll slow down in a jiffy, and were sitting around 32k lbs.
Air bleeding off can be a myriad of things, tiny plastic lines going to the airbags, the airbags dry-rotted and leaking, leveling valve, the actual line going from the compressor to the drier, the drier itself, the brake cans and their respective lines....you name it. Soapy water is your friend.
I got a chuckle every time you said struggle bus seeing as how you were working on the bus 😅
Cool and unique rig....
I would love to see you redo ALL of the wiring and mechanical facets of this bus. Like down to the shell and built back to T.Ray spec 😅.... new equipment, controls, maybe a stand-alone with some engine love, etc..
Classic “up fitter” wiring. I swear they split off just to bring the same wires back together 5’ down stream. Great job cleaning it up.
Love the bus/rv content.
yesssssssssssss straight pipe it!!!!!!! i just love heavy equipment, especially diesel engines
Good job bro
Hell yeah, its been a hot minute
Oh hell yes. Bus content! I can't wait to see TayTay doin some real travel episodes.
I have to admit. When you first got the bus, I was suuuper skeptical. I was like, this is a dumb purchase. Since then I super enjoy the videos on it.
Digging the content as usual
Recommend using Gyeon Wetcoat for the windshield and side windows. It's a gamechanger when driving in the wet and you would even see the difference when stationary.
I love these bus videos!
Install smooth close or locks on your drawer that keeps moving in and out.
taylor i’m so excited to see you drive at klutch kickers at mid pond!
Clutch kickers is back !!!!!
The popping when you steer is most likely your front spring bushings
I LOVE WHEN YOU WORK ON BUS...
“New cars have ambient lighting that isn’t distracting” bruh my 86 bmw has that it’s called orange lol
Locks for the drawers is a need.
Honestly, i love the bus :D
I'd add a strip or two for floor lighting, having the light low, might be nicer at night where you want to see where you're going, but not light up the whole interior, and I'd add dimmer to everything. That being said it does look great as is, nice job!
Finally!, bus content.. all it needs is underglow
Great job Taylor looking good that Cummins sounds fantastic 👍👌👍👌👍👌😎🇺🇸🏴☠️💯🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧👨🌾👨🌾
Taylors red light Special 😂🎉❤
THATS THE COOLEST RV EVER...
Need some red ambient light in back for when car is out and the air mattress is set up on track weekend.
Look into adjusting the brakes, with the brakes released (chock the front tires) should be a 7/16” 12pt bolt on the slack adjuster for the brakes, tighten the brakes until the pads touch the drums, then back off a 1/2 turn on all 6 drums. That will tighten up the brakes. Don’t freak out, you will hear clicking or squeaking when tightening and loosening, that’s normal. Also for air leaks, get a spray bottle with dish soap and water, spray on all the joints and air lines to find air leaks. The quick connects on the air lines are NOTORIOUS for leaking at the seat. Give that a try!
Back in the early 90's i worked for a transit co. in a large tourist city. They wanted to convert the busses with 6V71 and 6V92 Detroit 2 strokes to a cleaner running engine. We had already purchased newer busses with 50 Series Drtroit 4 stroke engines and they liked the emissions and power output of those busses. So i workedvwith Detroit, Allison, the bus manufacturer with a couple of other bus techs to do a conversion. The 50 was basicly a 50 series Detroit minus 2 cylinders. All the parts interchange and if you know, at THAT time the 60 was one if the most powerful inline 6 engines and their 4 cylinder version was no slouch either. We spent a lot if time getting mounts to fut the engine swap with the V700 series transmissions we ran in the sideways mounted engines. The mount design was to maximize passenger area. More seats more people and more revenue. Those trans were great but had an issue with bad drivers. Excess torque damaged the input shaft or gears. So overcoming that with the added torque was an issue as well as the epa having more and more power kept things slow but people being scared of those older 2 strokes were either dealing with improper tuned or maintained engines or just impartial as ive seen them break tires loose on a transit bus. Ive seen them overtorque and destroy the automatic trannies. I mean it was turbocharged and blown. Where do you think the 4-71 6-71 and 8-71 blowers fused in dragsters came from. Its actually the size of the cylinder volume and number if cylinders. 6 cylinders 71 cubic inches of volume per cylinder same with the 8-71 which is just longer to fit the v8 size. So you would have had an 8v92 likely in that unless it was a 6-71 on its side which i have worked on in school buses. The 6v seemed more powerful than the straights but it was a much older and heavier bus so there us that. The epa killed the 2 stroke diesels as they were known for barely hitting double digits in fuel mileage and a poorly tuned rack would lead to a lot of "coal rolling" back when it was just called smoke. Ok this has gone way too long. Just standing up for that old 2 stroker that fed my family for a few decades.
Yay more bus!
Hey Taylor, I've had a 12.5m Hiway coach for 3 years now. I've stripped the 48 seats out, and the old roof mounted ac system, then shifted house and its been sitting there blowing raspberries at me ever since.
I want an RV/toy hauler too, but mate, its gunna cost some to do all that converting.
10:33 trust me I'm that guy too. I've been an OTR trucker for 5 years now and I hate when I'm stuck behind a semi when I'm in my personal vehicle lmao. But at least you know how us truckers feel when you drive that bus 😂
More bus content let's go!!
Nothing beats red light for keeping your night vision and passengers seeing what they are doing, you might wanna look at doing a duel light set up with red and white light
To get a decent earth when testing the switches, run a temporary/separate cable to the earth bus bar then you can connect your meter to it knowing you have a good earth
Looking like Dale Earnheart's bus!!! with the RED
Red is used in heavy duty trucks to help against fatigue on long drives at night
Crazy that it's been over a year since the bus has been on the road. I feel like you got it yesterday
Hope to see some drag car content soon. Maybe even a drag and drive with the LS truck 🤙🏻
The strips are great mood lighting too if you know what I mean
I am looking forward to the bus rewire the movie episode in the future.
Ive worked on prevost that push around 750hp
LOL @ "better stop jibber jabbing" every time!!
THE LOVE BUS, OH BABY.
Black smoke check rhe simple stuff air cleaner intercooler etc. Also might wanna check brake shoes and drums and adjust the slack adjusters to help with break feel
As a truck driver who deals with air brakes every day. I can almost primed that the brakes can put you into the windshield if you really stomp on them. Air brakes are weird when it comes to pedal feel
You can get an inexpensive cnc engraver from sainsmart to make your panels and engrave them.
Any plans on wrapping the bus car hauler? That's would be so cool.
can't say i agree with the red but no doubt it'll be 10x better!
