I like that Tim Gentry call out at the end but I'll guarantee you you won't see him bring his truck around that Dino!!! Or he will end up turning up the horsepower right before he pulls up and then blow it up on the dyno 😂😂

Now to test Tim Gentry's 700hp* trucks (supposedly 700hp*)
Once you set the valve set point you need to roll into the throttle and the HP and torque will rise. If the mph raises too quickly you need to raise the value set point more until the truck slowly accelerates. You will not get max HP to torque running the truck at a steady speed.

Dyno at Pittsburgh Power has a "anchor" that pins onto the fifth wheel in case of dyno failure.
Place a fan in front of the truck to aid cooling
Attending a course on how to run it might be good, have someone come out and teach you how to run it and get all the correct values.

Just a suggestion this other truck Dyno I've seen on CZcams has a rock guard to the rear. I guess its common for rocks in the tires to come flying off probably like a bullet

When you get it dialed in you can figure out how you can get more horsepower and torque because those trucks are factory set to only to have so much horsepower and torque but maybe it will increase your fuel economy also

think of the possibilities get some abandoned wore out smoking rig in there start it up and load that sucker up see what she will do and what kind of show it will put on maybe put some junk rigs on there and stress test them with the dino till they give up

They need Air Brakes for the rollers in an unusual situation like a blown engine and need to stop it mid test run.
Those electric breaks will stop 10 times faster then any air break

I ran the dyno at Cat for years put it in direct drive throttle on the floor 100% load peek hp is between 1800 and 2000 rpm on most diesel truck engines LET HER EAT!!!

Get the dynamometer to 💯 operational and you can offer Speedometer calibration and certification for the local Sheriff's department and police department. I gad Automobile Club of Southern California calibration on my Honda Odyssey FL350 with the optional speedo and drive cable. 😊

Horsepower is just a mathematical equation based on torque, a dyno does not measure horsepower it measures torque and horsepower is an equation.
Dyno numbers are meaningless since every dyno measures torque differently and it also depends on how the operator loads the dyno. The main purpose of a dyno is to verify the changes you are making are having a positive change.
