  • Welcome back guys! I took the camera with me on a trail night run this week to give you a really good idea of what it's like. There's quite a bit of footage but that is to give you the best idea of how it feels to be out there at night!
I came across a bit of a surprise halfway through my run so watch out for that!

I always see little animals (their eyes), mostly cats, and bunnies... :-) The first times they scared me, now I like it.

It’s when your head torch lights up 2 eyes staring back at you 🙀

Oooow yes, or even worse multiple sets of eyes! You have to get used to moths flying in your face as well 😂

That’s when you have to gauge if the eyes are forward facing and how far apart they are to gauge size and species lol

I run on a trail near a river at night too. It's pitch black in some areas. I'm feel more relaxed jogging with no one around. I'm a bit jumpy when I hear noises.

I went out last night and saw coyote eyes staring back at me on one of my last switchbacks. Full on unnerving. I set some PRs getting back to my car! 🤣 The start of your video was my entire experience hahahaha

Just did a night trail run. I had to see how other people felt about it. And the intro was dead on.

I use to run at night a lot like 2 years ago but now I want to start running again regularly at night because usually I’m busy during the day, started like 2 days ago and just looked up “trail night running” so I had reassurance I wasn’t the only one doing it lmao 😭

What took me by surprise first time night running on the rails - this was during the summer - how quickly the grass and fields became wet with dew. Had my run been a longer route I would have got very cold I think, I now pack a pair of lightweight waterproof trousers and/or gaiters, if I am going to be crossing a lot of farmland or pastures.

I love running at night, my first ever race was at night "The Skeleton Run" and my first 10k was a night runner..

Love running at night, I usually take the dogs but they shit me up a few months ago when I thought they were up in front of me, they must have doubled back through the woods, so I stopped to call them and it was deathly silent, then behind me I could here breathing, so spun around to see them both sat looking at me, thinking whats his problem hey, why did he squeal like a girl hahhahahah little buggers

😂 I can imagine as that badger scared the hell out of me! It's one of my favourite kinds of run, I take the most fulfilment from a night run I think. Having a dog to run with would make it all the better though 😊

Have you had any close calls or moments where your gut feeling has told you to get out?

Hi! Sorry for late reply. There have definitely been points where I've wanted to speed up! A mix of adrenaline and being alone I think haha but never a point where I've genuinely feared for my life :)
