  • Breaking Trail through almost the entire Dix range! We got up on top of Dix to watch the Sunrise and it was an absolutely beautiful day! I started with Winter 46er high peak number 41 and Finished my Winter 46er on Macomb Mountain! It was an epic sunrise, very cold and very windy with clouds slamming unto the side of Dix and bouncing over it.. had to break trail all the way to grace and since the snow was so high we were hunched over the entire time! Watch out for them spruce traps bro’s! Macomb butt slide was awesome and well worth watching this Vlog!! Also don’t forget to check out my friends CZcams channel as well. Jonathan Zaharek! He posts some of the best Adirondack content on CZcams there is!

    Hey! So you would recommend going clockwise instead of counter?

    • @BrianHikesAllDay
      @BrianHikesAllDay  Před 2 lety +2

      I always love starting at Dix. So that would be clockwise for me. Especially in the winter when you can butt slide down Macomb Slide if there’s a lot of snow.. I’m typically a fan of going to the biggest mountain first and working my way gradually downhill as the day goes on. And there’s nothing better than a Sunrise on Dix

    Out of curiosity, what time did you start to hit Dix for a sunrise? This is amazing & thank you for sharing. I recently started my winter 46 (& officially logging 46) so these are super helpful.

      I honestly don’t remember. This was two years ago. Best thing I could tell you is to look at the mileage and the elevation gain and plan your average pace per mile per elevation gain. Dicks always takes me longer than expected because I always have to break Trail up the beckhorn. I’m going to say ballpark 2 AM is what I remember

      Carl K thanks man. I never had an intentional finish. It just ended up being Macomb

  • @milofrancavilla1103
    @milofrancavilla1103 Před 3 lety +1

    Why in the description for this does it say Macomb was your last one vs the title for colden says that was your last one. Anyway very impressive you did all 46 in one winter season especially since you don't live there.

    • @BrianHikesAllDay
      @BrianHikesAllDay  Před 3 lety

      Milo Francavilla Macomb was me finishing the winter 46 in general over the last two years but then I continued to hike all the first few from the other year again so that I can complete all 46 in one single winter season. So this was my winter 46 finish and Colden was my single season winter 46 finish

      Thanks bro and I’ve been hiking consistently after this to make it an official single season winter 46 so I had to repeat the ones I did last year. Looks like I’m going to finish my single season winter 46 on Monday or Wednesday of this week. The Vlogs will keep coming but I’m going to post one a week
