A recorded greeting by John Blunt from "Killer Queen Australia" and "The Great Pretender" docudrama for the attendees of the official UK Queen Convention 2018.
I’ve watched your portrayal of Freddie in the documentary about his last days. I was blown away. You look and sound just like him, you have the mannerisms down to science and it feels organic, like watching Freddie himself. Yesterday, I went to see Bohemian Rhapsody and couldn’t believe how unbelievable Rami Malek was as Freddie. He basically portrayed a bad caricature of Freddie, his speech was off, his bulging eyeballs were a constant reminder that it’s him etc. It’s an absolute shame that the movie didn’t happen a few years ago and they didn’t cast you.
i believe rami malek did a excellent job its just that his portray of freddie mercury when he was older like in the 80s was off i think this guy should have gotten cast as freddie when he was older and rami should be freddie when he was younger
@@worschtee1 It's true though. I would totally go see the movie if they were doing it. But I'm not because they cast someone else and are not giving Marc Martel the credit he deserves. They say it's Freddie's, Marc's, and Rami's voices mixed together. But you can clearly hear it's just Freddie's and Marc's. No trace of Rami's but he is taking a lot of the credit that he clearly doesn't deserve.
Had you been cast as Freddie, I would have gone to see the movie... But the person they chose is ridiculous when they had such a find impersonator as yourself there.. God bless keeping his memory alive
@@annamn3361 great, who cares? Shit movie, the accent was way off and Remi didn't look, sound or act anything like Freddie, i should know, i've been a hardcore queen fan since i was a kid, stop letting some award dictate how you think, form your own opinion. The oscars have been garbage for some time now anyways, too political and Remi playing a flambouyant gay icon in this political climate was complete oscar bait, only reason the movie was even made. Remi is a fine actor but the peformance was way off, didn't help how badly written the movie was either, that never helps a performance.

Amazing John, Have a bloody gooooood time!
You should have been cast as Freddie for the movie and Marc Martel on vocals.
Agreed!!

Shame you didn't see it. That "ridiculous" person they casted did him proud.
That "ridiculous" person got an Oscar for this role.
