- In this video, we describe three small improvements to our equatorial mount ( • Seestar S50 Equatorial... ) for the Seestar S50. All three save time and aggravation in using the mount, and all three simply involve locking existing screws into place. In a separate video ( • Seestar S50 Polar Alig... ), we show how to polar align the Seestar and how to orient it to the equatorial view of the sky so you can use the Seestar app to find and track objects automatically.
Materials needed are:
Eskonke Red Thread Locker: a.co/d/28JHrxg
J-B Weld Steel Epoxy: a.co/d/2KWm1SZ
You turned off your comments on the short you have on the coriolis effect, what happens from the balls perspective
Came for the same exact reason. People shouldn't be allowed to say dumb things without repercussion.
Turned off comments because it proves the earth is not spinning.

Hello Prof Edward it's been very long I hope you remember me we once talked back in 2017 via Google chats where we discussed about the violation of 3rd of thermodynamics hope you remember my name Mubasshir i was from India and we talked for almost 40 mints and then you had to leave cause your wife was waiting for you to go out it's nice to see you Professor that you're still with the same energy just like before I've been doing great i did my diploma in aircraft maintenance engineering and I'm moving to US this September hope we can make time to see eachother soon God bless you professor stat healthy and happy
For the love of god people, just use a drop of the Loctite 271. You don't need to pour it on. And thank you sir, and son, for these videos.
A layer of masking tape and or crush washer between dovetail and connection point so there isn't slipping could work.
Professor can you suggest physics books for self study and question practice
What mounting base are you using for the red dot finder? The ones i've found don't look like yours.
Thanks for sharing more tweaks, I noticed the position you add, must be always in that position. Have you able to capture any images that can share with us.
Yes. See facebook.com/groups/seestar/permalink/348716674607288/ and facebook.com/groups/seestar/permalink/350771554401800/
Thanks for the input! Why didn't you just get rid of the set screw? It's not doing anything in this setup (it won't ever move again with all the Loctite in there, though).
I believe the head of the set screw is used as a stop to prevent the Seestar from falling out of the dovetail mount. Solution? Buy a shorter screw!
I suppose you could add a washer or two to prevent the set screw from going in too far?
I have a Star Adventurer 2i at home, I was wondering if we could use the Star Adventurer 2i itself to do the tracking and let the S50 relax in tracking.
Based on your video I mounted a star finder scope in my S50. Have a second waiting, but no clear skies.
I don't know the answer to your question. But nobody will know until someone tries.
Good tips. I assume when you configure the S50 for equatorial mount alignment, this disables the requirement for "leveling", or do you do that first, then align to your equatorial star?
You really only literally need one or two drops of Loctite thread lock (red or blue) on the threads, typically on the screw is sufficient.
Yes, the polar alignment process basically replaces leveling. You don't need to level at all. In a separate video (czcams.com/video/ObM6bGUChFE/video.html), we show how to polar align the Seestar and how to orient it to the equatorial view of the sky so you can use the Seestar app to find and track objects automatically.
@@physicsdemos Perfect! I started watching that one a few days ago, and I got too darned cold!! Thank you for the suggestions, tips, and tricks. Thank you
How is Parker?
Take that video of children down you know why you had to disable comments
It’s funny we all came here from that @mblend27
You turned off the comments on the short you posted..hear me out: the ball is still going straight
The ball was thrown in the direction of the brown couch to the girl in the green top and by the time the ball got there she wasn't anymore the next reciever was ...the ball still went straight but the girl stayed in rotation
