Competition between companies is a good thing. It breeds improvements and lowers the cost. I agree those tanks need steps and the pole needs a support to take most of the weight.
Agreed! Good to see a company showing John Deere what can be accomplished for less money.
Deere and other tractor companies have been ripping off the farmers for years and it needs a non tractor company to bring a better system and it then smacks these companies in the face to change how they flog the farmer of profits. Well done to the Agra-gps CRG group and hope other companies get on the band wagon also to smack them harder also.
I like this. I hear a lot of complaints about John Deere RTK and Starfire because of costs and fees. This could really help the bottom line for many farmers.
Thank you Carson, great video! More excellent features and info here than I can point out one by one! Great musical choice and footage too c. 12:00+ ! Much appreciated, as always! Glad to see things are well!
Can't wait to see what you say about it. Tell your dad I said Happy Father's day and hope you have a good weekend
Bro you need to get yourself a respirator with green cartridges (green cartridges are specifically for anhydrous ammonia) value your safety and your family farms safety. Have a great season and God Bless!
Happy Father's Day to your Dad🏆
Great drone shots.. the fields are mesmerizing. Lol... I had to Google RTK and CORS to understand more about it all and how it works.
John Deere has a new receiver maybe 7000 that works off satellite and you don't have to worry about base stations.
Yes, sounds like a great system but I believe it’s $1,500 a year per receiver
You may want to mask up with filered cartridges to protect yourself from those harsh tanks. Our wisconsin co- op's require there workers dealing with anhydrous tanks to wear masks.
There’s that cool chroma key effect again! Love it!
Nice vid! I allwsys used a piece of thin wire between the hitch pin and clip. I never lost a clip again!
That’s a good idea
Woop woop Agra-GPS 🎉🎉
Been waiting to see someone else use these for a while
Cool video Carson
Hello from Pittsburgh love the videos
Glad you like them! Thank You for watching
Make sure to do the fall off of equipment test on that new receiver to make sure it holds up
Should I bounce it down the highway a few times like the 3000 receiver from earlier this year?
Props to them for stepping in a monopolized and very low availability market and selling an affordable option. Really hoping this inspires other manufacturers of ag stuff to do this too. For example overpriced parts. Also are you not able to us MN CORS with your deere receivers?
I agree very cool to see them do this! No Deere receivers cannot connect to the CORS network. Honestly didn’t even know it was a thing until recently😂
That is one of the reasons I am not a big fan of social media!
Some really nice looking corn.
My friend who is a sixth generation farmer as well farms around 1200 acres of corn and soy beans in northwest Ohio here and I help him out and the thing I like about the anhydrous is that it is cultivating so it’s also doing a weeding job while it is providing fertilizer
Most of the NH3 machines are just a knife that slices right in. Won't get any weeds near the plant
@@mpanowicz123 I know… But it’s something… It helps a little bit at least it doesn’t feel quite so much like you’re just doing one task
thank you
I have seen videos where other farms wear a full face mask with eye and breathing protection when connecting and disconnecting anhydrous. Stay safe.
Yeah probably should wear gas masks
He is young and i’m bulletproof! That’s why some of the kids went to war. There’s also an eye and face washing kit on those tanks. He does have gloves on and he does have eye protection. That is what most people in the 70s had.
Contrary to popular believe most of them Lived a long life in spite of the nasty chemicals that have all the lawsuits against them right now.
Definitely need a good tight sealing face mask, anhydrous will freeze burn your lungs, and yes many people including myself have handled anhydrous without any problems, but if you are the person that runs into an issue, its not that much fun and could be in the hospital for a while or even permanent injuries, need to take all safety measures available
Very informative !!..receiver sounds like the real deal….what are the 2 valves for on the hose you keep turning??
The only is a valve to turn the tank on and the other is a valve to isolate the anhydrous bar. So I can disconnect the tank with pressure still in the implement
I would love a cheap upgrade to our fleet of sprayers that have older guidance. Especially if it can hook up to old Viper Pros.
If you have questions or want to discuss send me an email! Contact link is in video description
All depends on how well the state maintains its colors network.
Yes. I think I’m going to buy a base station and then if one goes down the other should be up still… and still cheaper than Deere
Breaking news: MN farmer discovers there is life outside Mother Deere 😄
If they can make 3rd market screens that would be a BANGER! John deere 10 inch screen gonna run you 10k for one thick boned screen
I agree! Would love a great 3rd party screen
We run Case IH and AG leader gps, weve been on ten free cors network for years
What’s your experience been with it?
@@6thGenFarmer great honestly, never had any problems with it.
@6thGenFarmer How do the guidance lines match up. Doesnt Deere RTK use "True" North and the rest of the market uses "Magnetic" North? Or vice versa
The lines “heading” is the exact same as Deere
Maybe you mentioned it and i missed it. But can you mount one of those recievers on an implement and on the tractor pulling the implement? Or will they not connect together like the implement guidance with the deere globes? We strip till and run autopath and run implemenent guidance so just curious if this is a route we could go.
I was told implement guidance is in the works but not yet available. I’m hoping to use it on strip tilling as well!
@6thGenFarmer Thanks, Appreciate the response!
do you ever get the feeling john deere is pulling your chain.
I have been using mncors with my trimble systems for several years now. I am not as familiar with john deere unlocks. my neighbor uses a 6000 globe with a 2600 monitor with sf1 and autotrak. is there any more unlocks to add to the monitor, or are all the rtk upgrades on the reciever?
I think it depends on the jd display. Some displays require unlocks but some don’t
RTK activations are on the receiver. Some very old setups can have them on the display, but that can be changed/addressed.
I have a Trimble FMX running an rv55 modem. What type of modem are you using? I've been unable to connect to other networks except for our case IH RTK plus. What are your thoughts on this?
Perfectly straight rows equals less yield per acre.
What is the range of the base station?
If I remember correctly its 20 miles advertised but I have heard of guys using it up to 40 miles away without any issues
What network did you get your sim card from? Verizon, T-mobile?
I called them and they said it comes with a SIM card and they give you some free data to start. I ordered a receiver, thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching and you’ll love that receiver!
I said goodbye to John Deere years ago nothing beats a Steiger
eh... 😂
Is that something fast makes or is it a custom setup???
It’s a custom built bar actually. I’m guessing it’s the same bar that fast uses with their liquid applicators just with a 3pt mount and we put the units on.
are these compatible with trimble
Will get gps to the Trimble monitors, but cannot run steering controllers for autosteer
Why does the corn field look striped?
We planted 2 different varieties that have slightly different colors
@@6thGenFarmer Oh okay that makes sense. Thanks for answering 👍
Deere doesn’t use a base anymore and it is very advanced what it can do with your equipment in field now
Well, I mean, technically the newest technology is not a base station, but a lot of people still use them. And I would agree. It is amazing what GPS receivers can do now.
Good news John Deere needs some competition and there expensive
so in europe we dont use anhydrous and ive seen some farmers use gas masks while handeling it. is it really necessary to be safe?
anhydrous binds with moisture in the soil the reason for the gas mask that you have seem is that it will bind with the moisture in your eyes and mouth that can be dangerous. but yes the gas masks are needed to be properly safe
Yeah we should be wearing Gas masks but if your smart about wind direction and hooking and disconnecting properly it’s not bad.
So what do you do for nitrogen for corn? Know Liquid nitrogen?
@@paulprigge1209 that is the anhydrous its 82% nitrogen
Does the agra gps work in austria?
I will look that up for you. If you are interested in a receiver send me a message at my website in the video description and we can have a conversation!
Is this new receiver compatible with ag leader equipment?
I believe its strictly John deere
It only works with john deere monitors, but agra-gps makes bridges for JD, CNH(Case IH), AGCO, and Claas. So with a receiver, JD monitor, and the right bridge, you can use it on most machines.
Will you use this receiver on your tile plow? Or will you still use a base station as well?
@@bradweber3238 I have to do some testing with this receiver for the tile plow. In order for it to be possibly after enough, I would need a base station but we might keep our John Deere RTK receivers just for tiling
Just buy a booster for your phone 👍
Honestly would probably work pretty good!
Couple questions.
Are you using the Agra gps base station or just using it only off of your phone signal?
Also, did they pay you to promote them or is this your honest review?
So we are using the mncors signal with a SIM card and modem in the receiver for data. They sent me this one to demo for the summer and if we like it they are giving me a discount. But it is my honest review. I am pretty sure I am going to switch our entire farm over next year
@@6thGenFarmer I appreciate an honest review. I saw these last year and the light bulb clicked and thought it was genius just haven’t seen or talked to anyone that as gotten real world use.
@@6thGenFarmer what I’d really be curious to know is if it is accurate enough for tile plowing. They say it’s not recommended but if your accuracy and lat/long. Don’t move after sitting for 20 min in the same spot I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.
Why not use 28 or 32??….much safer…AA is that much cheaper??
AA is 25% - 50% cheaper and the anhydrous works even if it doesn’t rain. 32% doesn’t work if you don’t get a rain
My god people do not look at his location please, he’s scared to death you will find him because of his celebrity status
Hey man, mind giving me your house address?
