Bring on more Case knives. I like this niche. Great channel.
There is one big problem with Case knives. They are too good looking to actually use. I buy them, open the box and say to myself, "man you need to keep this safe" and put it in my knife drawers. I have an affinity for the canoe and butter bean. Some of the finishes are almost works of art, particularly the blue bones. The come super sharp, are well made, and oh, the are made in the USA!
Old Fart I see what you mean, but I grew up with Case knives and they were always a work knife to me. I'm currently building a collection of Sodbusters which I carry as my main EDC.
I love Case knives they are works of art I do have to force myself to use them they are so darn pretty .
Not only made in the USA, but handmade in the USA...Case is an amazing brand, I have a collection of a little over 600 of them
George
If you think his collection is big you should look up tony foster. He has multiple boxes and each box is worth like thirty or forty thousand dollars worth of knives.
Oldphart Grumpy i hv a large Elephants Toe, Vault knife yu might be intrested in. Never used, only looked at. 🔪🔪🇺🇸
I love traditional knives, especially Case and GEC. Please keep the traditional videos comin!
I carried a carbon sod buster. Cleaned 100's of fish and skinned out a dozen deer the I lost it. I replaced it with as but never had the edge. Since I had my own money, I always bought Case. I'm 76 and still have the ss Sod buster.
Absolutely! More Case knives and traditional folders... great idea
Great video I carry a Case knife of some type every day as a secondary knife to my Tactical folder ,for small tasks ,cutting cardboard, fruit kitchen chores . I also use the Case knife when in public they cause people alarm or get you noticed .I think for the price & quality Case knives cannot be beat .
I love Case knives! I've been collecting them for many years and have close to 60. My favorite is the medium 3 blade Stockman. Good vid!
WOW! Thanks for bringing so many Case memories front and center. In days gone by ... many young boys were able to carry and use those Case folders every day. I got my first Case when I was 7 or 8 and I still have a few today. As I said, lots of good memories.
bought my first two in one week. Loved the first one so much now I can't stop! These are hand finished, and each is a unique product as a result. This is why some have better snap and walk.
Everybody needs at least one. I have a Sod Buster that's a favorite in my collection.
This is still one of my favorite slip joint knife posts! Missing your posts . . .
Great video! Nice to see both the knives close up, as well as being used. Going knife shopping on our upcoming vacation, and you've helped me narrow the field! Thanks as always for the great channel. Keep up the good work!
Thank God for a great vid on traditional folders my favorite collectors drug.
I have really grown to appreciate traditional folders. I EDC a 1983 CV Trapper, I only wish they had more handle variety for the CV steel.. I also have an infatuation with Opinel :)
I've got a small handful of case knives (all are old). Would love to see more.
I've abandoned "tactical" knives. I carry a scout pattern 1954 Imperial Kamp King.
I bought a case knife for my dad last year for his 70th birthday. He loved it. IT was the one with the thumb open deal and a pocket clip. I bought myself one with two blades at a yard sale for a buck! And fell in love with traditional knives. My friends laugh when I pull it out after seeingg me with the more tactical style modern knives for years. I've carried knives since I was ten and these bring back lots of memories.
Really like the video. I have been carrying a Mini-Trapper with the amber bone for about five years now and it has opened plenty of mail, cut a ton of tape, and removed plenty of tags. It is one of those knives that will be handled down to my son and probably grandson. Keep this series going please.
I still use my grandfathers case. Reminds me of him and all the things he taught me. Along with being a sentimental piece, it also keeps an awesome edge.
I do see the appeal. First, with so much variety, you can have something fairly unique for a modest investment, and second, both my father and grandfather carried very similar knives their whole lives, so there is a feeling of connection there.
My switch has flipped as well. I have always carried a clip pocket knife but just out of nowhere I love case knives and zippos now. Weird but fun. Nice collection.
Loved seeing the product of the whittle work in relation to each knife, thank you!
Would love to see more Opinel stuff, i picked one up after your 5 best knives under $20 and couldn't be happier with it
love seeing the traditionalvfolders being used thanks please do more!
Yes! More Case knife reviews please. I've only been collecting modern folders for the past 10 years. LIke you said, gateway to traditional and I love it. I actually might start focusing my collection completely on traditional for a while now.
I love the case knives, I have used case trappers for most of My life to skin deer and other game. I also like how the chrome vanadium turns black and develops that antique patina. Thank You for posting this wonderful review.
Really liked the video. Would enjoy more traditional folder videos and learning of the carving.
Yes! More case knives!!!! Please
Love the traditional knives, and whittling especially!
Griz Mt i love the blade on that Seahorse whittler🔪🔪🇺🇸
Yeah, I just got my first Case knife, a 6375 large Stockman in in CS (1095) with amber bone and man , Its beautiful, that bone is the best, and to top it off the pull on all the blades is equal, a strong 7, pretty much perfect, I couldn't believe it, I'm very happy.
2 of my favorite slipjoints....Barlow pattern and the Stockman Pattern. But admit that I carry newer one hand openers mostly now days.
I saw that this video came out in 2017 and time has passed, but I wanted to put my input in anyway. I have a Case folding knife I purchased last year and after that purchased the fixed blade hunter and love it and the sheath which came with it. Since I loved both knives so much and now want to buy another one to carry all the time since these have been added to my knife collection.
Love the traditional folders, slip joints etc. Bring em on!
I've always liked case knives, My father always had a case in his pocket for many many years. I got one of his old cases that is at least 25 years old and it is still a beauty and an workhorse to this day. I like to see more case knives on this channel
I'd love to see some whittle cids scout. You have a lot of great point about the case classics. I've been using em for a reeeeally long time and have never been let down. Enjoy your blades bruddah.
coolness!!! these are great looking knives!! your wood utensils are very nice
Love the trappers! Awesome & informative video as usual! Put me down for more various knife reviews!
I OWN lots of case knife I love them I only use a few the rest are part of my collection thanks for sharing great video and god bless you my friend
i have a yellow handle Sodbuster Jr. and a Ruko Classic Trapper, lovem both!
More traditional knife videos please!
great video and yes more traditional knives please. I'm love case knives but have been looking at Queen and Great Eastern Cutlery just don't know a lot about them. I have several case knives one is a locking knife that has 4 interchangeable blades I dont use that one but love showing it to friends.
more traditional knife's please:)
Would definitely like to see more traditional Case knives!
I've been carrying a 3 blade Case for 25 years, before that a 3 blade Old Timer. The Old Timer was the 1st knife my dad gave me when I was 8, and retired it when I had sharpened/worn the blade down. I'm now on my 2nd Case, but I love a "pocket knife" over the more tactical type personally. Thanks for the peep show.
Love traditional knives more vide please!
Would love more case knife reviews! Especially the mini copperlock.
You gotta check out their autumn bone collection. I have an autumn bone trapper and I love it.
Traditional folders are still cool just like a revolver is still cool. It also makes many of us recall fond memories of fathers and grandfathers using them and handing them down to us. I've been a knife enthusiast since I can literally remember thanks to my grandpa giving me his old Schrade Old Timers. I was young too! Thanks for posting!
I am interested in traditionals and carving videos. Traditionals are good for office carry and as a companion tool to a fixed or modern folder for outdoor fun activities.
Traditional knives are where it is at man
Would you please do a video on the case two blade trapper with pocket clip? Essentially how well the clip holds up etc.
Great video, I got a laugh out of it because you sound like a grown man that is just learning how to use a knife for the 1st time I’m not trying to be insulting, I loved it! I’m and old man and I’ve been using Case knives for over fifty years and I’m still learning the names of the different patterns and handles! I collect them and have hundreds many of which are over 50 years old and have never been used or carried and most of them I still have the box they came in! Case knives are an addicting cross between a tool and a piece of fine jewelry! There are 1000s of Case addicts all over the world and most of us have huge collections of unused knives a just a few that we call users that we will actually use, carry and scratch up. Thanks for the video Bro you have a new subscriber! Keep on checking that all important "Snap"!!
Case knives are great. I also like Queen and Schatt & Morgan (a higher grade made by Queen with better steels), and of course, all the Great Eastern Cutlery knives. I highly recommend that you check them out as well. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
John Dilday Will do. Thanks!
Such a great video
Love these knives. I currently use one that my grandfather used. Hopefully pass my grandson.
I love traditional knives! Yes "SS" means tru-sharp stainless steel, "CV" means Chrome Vanadium." I have been collecting for a couple of years now and I have about 20 knives from Case, Queen, Schatt & Morgan, and Boker Tree Brand. My favorite patterns are the Copperlock, Stockman, Trapperlock, and Muskrat. Keep 'em coming!
Bring on the case knives!
My Dad has always carried a Case, His dad carried a Cattarucus (The company that lead to Case), I haven't gotten my case yet but i do have a Cattarucus straight razor though. Good knifes!
My current EDC is a leatherman Wave, more useful to me day to day but Iv been wanting to get a case to supplement my EDC with some style and added usefulness.
GEC knives always have great snap, perfect centering, and no backspring gaps.
Milled Steel I've been looking at some of those. Very nice.
I keep a cheap pocket clip style knife for general purpose use (cutting cardboard, opening packages etc) and loaning to others and a slip joint in the bottom of my pocket that I keep razor sharp for specialty uses (whittling, impromptu surgery, game processing etc)
Traditional folders are great for using in public without getting weird or concerned looks from people. Also they look so nice.
Samesies. Traditional switch just turned on for me recently as well
Great knives. If you want to see variety, visit their factory store in Missouri. You'll have trouble choosing and then leaving. You'll spend hours there.
Bruce McConnell I'll second you on the MO outlet. I can never seem to walk out without a new knife.
Bruce McConnell I live 15mins away from the place where case knives are made, other well known knives that are made here in my hometown are Kabar and cutco
The original factory is in Bradford PA if your interested in getting better case knives. (The casing around the knife is made of bison ankle there) The case knives in Missouri are plastic, aluminum, etc.
They make some really affordable knives too. I like their Carhartt series knives, especially the mini trapper.
The "light switch" has recently flipped on for me as well on Case.
Mike C jus got the mid fold hunter, in Red Smooth Pearl kirinite. Love it. Also 2 wicked purple; pocket hunt, swayback. Very Cool scales🔪🔪🤜👁
Welcome to the very deep pool of traditional knives. They are incredible. I love modern folders, but traditionals have stood the test of time. Be sure to look into GEC knives. They are incredible. I also have many Case knives. Traditionals are thin, light, and beautiful heirlooms. I hope to see more videos like this one.
Definetly down for more of these traditional videos. I, myself, have taken a liking to Case knives as well as the other brands that offer traditional knives. Just picked up a trapper and medium stockman by Case
iCabeAllred I need to pick up a Stockman for sure.
The Late Boy Scout i got my grandfathers case medium stockman passed down to me and i love it
@Jerry Davis I'm pretty sure it's Poplar, but I'm not expert enough to be certain.
Nice carving! Hard to beat a Case knife.
I'm personally very attracted to the concept of traditional folders (especially the non-scary kind that I can take around my family). Unfortunately, the prices are real knife prices, which deterred me from jumping onto bladehq/Amazon immediately. I am very excited to see more of this
I love the copper lock I have 2 large and one mini
I've been carrying a case canoe for years and it's never let me down.
Keep posting traditional. Good to have variety.
Nice knives.
My second pocket knife was a Case. Made right here in PA!
That was a great video.
I'm not into the whittling videos but I do enjoy the traditional folders lol I'm just a knife nut in general. After this video I'm going straight to blade hq to check some out
Anyone like the case trapper in 154 cm? I've been leaning towards GEC knives these days, but that one has caught my eye more than once.
justin Just got one, and I love it. I own four GEC knives, so I can answer any comparison questions. But I really like it, and don't think you'd regret it.
The case trapper in 154cm is awesome. It’s been in my pocket since I got it. I carry it and a GEC boys knife in my watch pocket.
Check out the Case Scout Junior. Great size with tons of utility.
I carry daily both case mini trapper and ZT0450CF. Guess which I use most often ? Yep, the Case.
I just bought a Case Small Lockback from Amazon and sent it back within 24 hours. The blade was dull and not ground properly. I was very disappointed, as I had some very nice Case knives when I was a kid. I may chalk this one up as a dud and try again, but I'm also considering a CKRT or a Buck 55.
More traditional folders please 😎
TruSharp is what Case calls their stainless. It's 420HC hardened to 54-57 RC and they mark it SS on the tang. And please do make more vids! Great Eastern Cutlery is a favorite :)
I have a "congress" for whittling. Great knife!
Bruce McConnell I've been shopping around for a Congress pattern. Probably my next buy.
Case knives are the best!
I love'em!
Check out their website for info on de-coding the tang stamps... such as the SS indicates their Tru-Sharp... also check out their reasonably priced fixed blade knives!
Keep doing these videos on Cass Knives! The Tony Bose collaboration, seahorse whittler,;and Sowbelly patterns. Also great eastern cytlery... thanks!
More case knives!!
More Case Please
Love Case knives
I'm into the whittling !
The Trad Knives are great. They got the job done then, and can do so now.....with style.
TruSharp is Case's stainless steel and CV is their carbon steel selection that they call Chrome Vanadium. Their TruSharp is 420HC and their CV steel is 1095. Pretty standard business in traditionals. Definitely get your hands on something from Great Eastern Cutlery and maybe, if you're a gambling man, something from Queen Cutlery/Schatt & Morgan. Keep the traditional videos coming!
Case vs boker? Love traditional lockbacks
Hey man can you make a video about the TL-29 it has the same action as the Case knife. They're still made but not by the millions they used to be. Spread the word of the awesomeness the knives are most definitely amazing.
Less than 35 bucks new and used can be found on for a lot cheaper.
I carry I old timer large trapper and it is the best , when my boy scout troop goes and does the occasional wilderness survival challenges, the first that I do is put my trapper in my pocket then back the rest of my bag , even my fixed blade isn't as good (it's a buck 119 special) as my trapper
I carry a large sebenza 21, but have recently fallen in love with Barlows. Picked up a Case antique bone Barlow and carry it as a secondary in my watch pocket. I very much enjoy it. The only thing that bugs be about Case is the sheer volume they pump out. That seems to me to be a mark against collectibility, not for it. If it’s not a somewhat scarce product, then how would your collection be of any more value than another guy’s collection? I guess I’m thinking of collecting Case knives as an investment/value thing instead of a personal scratch-the-itch thing. It just doesn’t seem that a collection of Case knives will ever be of more value than what one paid for them at the moment of purchase, especially with saturation in mind. Again, I enjoy the Barlow, and my son’s first knife will be a case mini trapper. I just don’t see collectibility as a strength of Case’s, unless you’re talking just personal enjoyment...which I don’t have the money for lol. I had to trade for a year and a half to work my way up to a sebenza, so my money in is $38 for my initial investment, plus shipping costs and time. Rambling now, but love the channel.
Good video.
More traditional folders!!!!!!!
do one about the russlock
tru sharp and stainless is same. cv have cv stamped on it.
More Case videos 👏👏👏👍
