And so it begins! Here's the first episode of the series. It's going to be all about creating boom bap, using the MPC live as an interface. Granted this first episode is mainly theoretical(and introductions), but I plan to be posting at least one vid a week. I'll try to get more. I really appreciate all the support and feedback. Please leave any uggestions for future topics in the comments! So far my episode two was going to be pad placement and finger drumming basics, but if theres an overwhelming push for some other topic next I'll happily shift gears. Thank you all so much. Just an FYI for MPC users: The interface has changed in 2.10 so some of these screens might look different. You may have to search a bit more to find where this stuff is buried but don't let that discourage you from learning the content in this series. It really is top-notch.

So when you create a sample, normalize it or whatever and go to program “NONE” then does it go straight to where you would normally keep samples? I’ve been trying to figure this out. New to MPC. Always had drum machines but no samplers. Thanks for the words and the post.
Yep it goes to where the samples are kept for the project you are working on. So if you go to "Sample edit" afterward, you will see it in the drop down menu. If you want to export it somewhere else, you can always then bounce the sample to anywhere else in the mpc or a harddrive if connected. Thanks!

"No Quantize" has its place, but it's not altogether as crucial w/ the sample as it is w/ the drums. In my estimation.

really nice video🔥 how do you fit your chops in to the bpm because if i chop a sample and try to make sequence it’s off beat
Thank you! I’ll do one soon on tempo matching, that’s a good idea. Basically you can speed and slow it with the pitch, but then you also have the time stretch option (in either sample or program edit.) if you stretch too far you can get artifacts(depending on the sample). I’ll do an in depth one on that ASAP. Thank you! 🙏
