    This is a highly-technical resource. Your advice is gold!

    Great information and ideas.
    And great drumming! I’ve been a MPC user for more than 10 years but never practiced finger drumming. I’ve also always, just out of habit, set up my drums in the same order. Actually in a very counter intuitive way to actually play it live 😆
    I realized this today and decided to check what CZcams “had to say about it” and came across your channel.
    Thanks for the inspiration.

    I just found this and it helped out my pad placement alot. The pads were double triggering before I tried this technique. I thought it was just my machine. The pad preparation is essential. I appreciate you, thanks!

    It’s great that you made a Finger Drumming Tutorial. No one does it. They just record themselves doing the performance. Interesting for sure. I have an MPC One and don’t even use it because I can’t get the information and knowledge to use it. I’ve had it for a year and still in the box. Hopefully I’ll get inspiration to take it out and get jiggy with it. 😂

    Thanks for the knowledge. I already know a lot but I skipped a lot of the basic steps and got WAY ahead of myself.

      No prob! I think it’s the best way to learn anyway, just dive in. I’m not as averse to manuals as Dilla was lol but I do think it’s such an adaptable device that everyone uses it a little bit differently.

    skillz dude! curious about the pro/cons of different placements. i see some peeps setting their kick, snare, HH in a “V” pattern (HH at top of V and kick at bottom). I’m figuring out what works for me. thanks for the vids, and all the musical reference examples of bands in your playing. knowledge!

    • @DrummerMiles
      @DrummerMiles  Před 4 lety +1

      Totally! Yeah it is really personal preference, and a lot has to do with what you want to do. I’m usually not triggering my samples when I finger drum, just drumming to my beat, but some guys (check out my buddy @DokBrass) are playing the melodies on the top half and drums on bottom half (or some variation). I could see how then you would want to be more set up to drum with one hand, play out melody with the other. For me I was a drummer first so that’s where my heads at lol. Thank you so much for the feedback man, it is hugely appreciated. 🙏

    @DrummerMiles What are your Pad sensitivity settings? Do combat double triggering a pad and the like.

    do you release your drum kits to your patreon subscribers?

    • @DrummerMiles
      @DrummerMiles  Před 3 lety +1

      Absolutely. I meant to start sooner, but I unfortunately had some personal drama the last week or two thats just now clearing up. My plan was to be dropping several drum loops every other week, but I definitely can do the kits as well if theres an interest. I'm going to work on getting a first batch out this week. Much appreciated!

    Will these settings save in a template?

    • @DrummerMiles
      @DrummerMiles  Před 4 lety +2

      You know I’m gonna have to check. I honestly am terrible about saving my presets, but as a flip side it helps me get really fast at navigating and sound designing how I want on a case by case basis. You could certainly start a program, set up the basic fx or presets you want with no instruments or samples applied, then save that as a template you start from. (Just remember to save as or duplicate it when you start so you don’t accidentally go over it lol). Thanks for watching man!

      DrummerMiles well I found one right after you can save the pads as the default... so it stays ... I used your layout. Your placement. Makes sense take me.. thanks again.
