I didn't think Dyson's model range and naming could get any more confusing, and yet they managed it.
@@jmacho54that’s not the complicated part. It’s the numbers, the naming conventions, when things come out
@@jmacho54now there’s the V15S submarine, V15S submarine absolute in addition to V15 and V15 Absolute, they should’ve just given a different name as this is priced closer to Gen5 detect and makes it unclear to many what the top of the range is. I’m a former Dyson rep and even I see the issue to customers who aren’t always informed
I think you’re just slow 😂
It’s a V15 Detect with a floor washing tool. Not that difficult really.
Gen5 Detect isn't a V15 Detect?
👍👍 This is the first and only channel so far that mentions the fact that the submarine has no suction. And as a reviewer who also checks Wet & Dry Vacs like the Crosswave this is important.
Thank you!
this is not a wet and dry vac. its a vacuum and an electric mop.
But I'm glad its that contained though. I've never owned a wet and dry vacuum and when I first saw this and considering getting the first thing that came to mind was I dont care if it tucks tons of water up, if I had to clean the entire passage of that suction, which includes a hard to clean parts it would defeat having that feature. I'd just mop is with a mop or a cloth and itll be so much more convenient to clean up a spill that way than using a vacuum.
I'm assuming they're used for those that vacuums their house everyday, there are going to be very fine dust covering the floor quickly and people who does that usually mops their house fairly and this would be great for that daily maintenance, but I wish it had tested it with some hairs, be ause even if there isnt large debris on it you're bound to get some hair, especially longer hair
Better than the eufy v1 Mach ultra?
I just swapped my V15 Detect for the V15 Submarine. Yes it's a big price for an addition but I have since mopped my place several times within minutes and it so SO good when you have pets. Dyson is one of the only brands where I am pretty much buying blind and never have been disappointed so far. I also must say that I was surprised by Dyson's customer service, at least here in germany. I had a problem where the Vacuum told me to clean the filter which didn't go away. They sent me an entire new main body and I got to keep the old one. I bought a second battery and now I have two fully functional dysons, one for downstairs and one for upstairs to clean the bed.
What type of floors have you used this on? I have tiles in the bathroom but the rest of the house is engineered laminate 'wooden' boards (German made). I know I cannot use steam cleaners on them because it will damage them as they are made up of very thin layers of wood.
u cpuld have kept the v15 and gotten a tinecco?
Never consider buying anything anymore until i visit your channel. Thanks so much for all you do ❤
You are so welcome!
The coolest vacuum mop I’ve ever seen. Other vacuums all seem to fail after 2-3 years. Would like to upgrade to this, looks like a great investment!
They should at least offer a trade-in option for V15 user's, I would love this mop head but I'm not going to but another 900€ vacuum a year after I bought the V15. Somehow I have a hard time believing the "Programming issues". Probably just anti consumer behaviour.
The head with the laser light is INCREDIBLE. Best vacuum ever.
The green laser is the most genius idea I've seen in a vacuum ever. If you're OCD don't use it, that laser will point out every atom of dust and strand of hair. It's fun to use though
A simple but very effective way of finding small stuff on the floor. I do this with a phone light if i drop something something small on the floor or need to help find my brother’s contact lens.
correct, I now prefer to vacuum in the dark lol.
"OCD" isn't a quirk that someone can be. But I agree it's a great tool
With long hair dog the mechanical parts on each side of the soft roller gets clogged with MASIVE amount of hair and the two little floor wheels also gets jammed after every use. I spent more time cleaning the roller than vacuum so I had to stop using it. I wish Dyson would just put the laser on the Motor Head that performs as well as the soft roller head based on the tests while also able to operate on carpets without swapping. Motor Head with Laser + Submarine Head + Low Reach Adapter is all I need from Dyson.
i have ocd i want it so badly lol
I've been waiting for this review! Not even sure why. If I mention buying another vacuum, my husband may have a heart attack 😂
🎉🎉🎉 glad to be watching again !! And hearing your voice and feeling this is a a real review channel
This dude's house must have floors with less dust than an Intel clean room.
Well, given how often he must clean with vacuums, can you blame em.
To the point short but detailed review.. thank you for such a great review this is very helpful
I’m not sure the blue HEPA is actually upgraded. These haven’t been available to buy as spares from Dyson for as long as I’ve owned my V15, but the Dyson rep I called promised me that the purple filters are identical in all respects…except for colour. She also checked with their technical dept after making that claim, and they agreed. I ended up buying the purple one for a backup filter 🤷♂️
3:49 Ah. I was hoping I can attach it to the V11.
Thanks for the detailed info, friend. It is very helpful.
Perfect review!! Concise and super clear--thank you so much!
You are so welcome!
I appreciate the honest insights. Super disappointing and ridiculous the Wet Roller Head doesn't work with V15. Also I can't believe it doesn't suck up dirt and debris with the wet head... it's basically a simple "spinning Swiffer WetJet", that pushes crud around.
Thank you for the informative review! I saw an ad today about the Dyson submarine and liked the idea, so started more research about it. I have a Dyson V10 and love it for everyday use! For mopping often use my Bissel Crosswave wet vacuum. About Bissel love the vacuum but needs cleaning the vacuum after and drying it before putting away, so most of the time use just a mop. The reason I bought Bissel, is to skip vacuuming before mopping the floor... Definitely, the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine is not for us. The main reason, is the attachment only mopping the floor without vacuuming.
check out the Roborock Dyad, it seems to be like the bissel crosswave but has a self cleaning function. Haven't used any of these myself, just saw it
@@shellderp Thank you for your recommendation! I need to check it out!
It's a shame that my V15 doesn't work with the submarine attachment. Great results from it though.
I just bought one of their high-end stick vaccums within the past year. I’m not dropping $$$$$ on a whole new one just because it can deal with wet stuff. Make the heads interchangeable and you have my attention. Like a Canon camera. You buy the body but all different lenses will fit.
I agree I went with the gen 5 and I’m spewing u can’t add the sub head to that :/
That software thing sounds like BS, I have invested heavily on the v15 complete+ which includes additional set of battery and charger, their newer stand an whole other of attachment including their combo wand. I would've loved buying their new attachment, but I won't buy whole new vaccum for that.
Exactly the info I was looking for, thank you.
Glad to hear it!
Great review. I’d like to know how much floor space the electric mop can cover before needing to be empty? Please review the Eufy Mach V1 Ultra.
So basically the mop attachment can be sloted into a wand, into a 3D printed handle with batteries in it connected directly to the power teminals and it would have the same effect.
No wonder they dont sell it separately. Seems almost trivial to get it working without a Dyson. That is unless it doesn't operate without communicating to the vacuum (they are doing some communication which allows the vacuum to stop its suction)
Thank you for the report! great video. Just one question, please, do you need to be pushing all the time the action botton so that the machine works? or you push it just once and then the machine works all the time? If you need to be pushing, maybe the finger gets tired. Thank you so much.
it will be interesting to see a review of the Roborock Dyad Pro as well, as it has the most interesting specs out of all Mopping Vacuum Cleaners
I bought this two weeks ago from Dyson's website, through chatting option. Guy convinced me to buy this machine with 20% discount and free shipping, which I thing was not a bad deal. I request chatting because I confused with the same $940 price tag on both versions of V15 submarine. One is also;ute with full hepa filtration and one without, that looks exactly as same as regular last years v15. Of course I got absolute version.
We hope you enjoy it!
I tried and was not offered a discount. 😞
We live on a hobby farm
So the issue is
Fine dirt
Fur
Dust
Flooring is
Tile
Polished concrete
Linoleum
Some large area rugs
I have a shop vac but it does a poor job on dog fur and fine dust.
I know mopping is still a must but my mops do the brunt of the work.
What should I get to speed up cleaning?
Thank you
is there a way to reset the dust counter?
Vacuum is good. The floor washer is bad.
My new vacuum seems to have been used as the counter was showing a lot of usage and a quarter filled dirty bin.
We have 4 cats and 2 dogs in 3 room flat 60m² 😅 that's why we bought V15absolut detect year ago. Best vacuum which we had 🙂
that's 650 square feet for Americans
I was eager to see if this was a wet/dry vac that would make cleanups easier, but it seems like all of them have pitfalls. They don't actually save you any time versus using separate devices to vaccum and mop.
Get a Mach V1 Ultra
@@trevortheis8200 It's from Eufy. They got caught streaming cameras in their devices to an unencrypted plain text website anyone could view and then tried to lie about it afterwards. The entire company's executives should be in jail. Don't buy from them.
Hell yea, thanks for the content!
You are very welcome!
I'd love to see a shootout of this and other options that are available as well as mop attachments for Dyson stick vacs
How does the V15s Detect Submarine compare to the gen5?
looks like the submarine has the improved filter that the gen5 has and the built-in dust wand, but it also has a trigger for power.
Does it have the brighter light on the hard floor roller like the gen5?
So, without the mop, is it a V15 or a Gen5??
Can you use a mild soap/detergent mixed in with the water for the submarine attachment and if so, how well would it work?
I would love to know how it works on dark gloss hardwood floors and the smudge/grease marks that inevitably show up everywhere. If it handled those I would definitely buy.
I.dont think it does. I have toddler spit and breastmilk drops on the floor dried out....and it doesn't clean them up
What electric mop would you recommend for clinker floor normally cleaned with robot everyday but the seams are dirty thus I think it needs some kind of pressure to get down and then suction to get it up.
You should buy and review the shark stainstriker carpetxpert carpet cleaner and shark stainstriker portable sot cleaner
I checked the price and it's about 50% more than I paid for the Dyson V11 Absolute in 2019... which already was far from cheap.
I think I'll stick to the V11 and the inexpensive steam mop combo I've got.
I did a similiar thing. I bought a gen 5 at discount price and have a steam cleaner. Surely using boiling steam is more hygienic than using cold water.
I wonder if it is okay to add liquid floor cleaner soap to the water in this attachment.
really excited for this review ngl
great!
This is really cool.
Thank you as always 😁
No problem 😊
Whether the same can be used on marble floors or rough granite floors. Mop has suction or can be clean.
How does it go with stains/messes in Tile Grout?
Can you put floor cleaner in the water or will it cause problems?
So ignoring the mop function is it comparable with the v15 or the gen5 ? It appears to be the v15. Given the gen5 is a step up from the v15 this would be a step backwards for vacuuming
I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’ve been looking forward to this review😂 I have V15 Detect from costco
Hope you enjoyed it!
Great review, helped me decide for Submarine
Glad we could help!
On the note of electric mops, please test the Hizero f500
I have both Shark Vertex Pro and Shark Stratos and I love both although the Stratos seems to have slightly more power and longer battery but either way they’re both a win! After trying many stick vacs, one being the Ryobi with double roller bars, the Sharks are hands down the absolute best for dog hair! I have a mini Aussie and a Husky Aussie mix, both of which shed constantly and especially during seasonal changes and have literally destroyed stick vacs like the Ryobi double bar with their intense fur. And yes, I always check my rollers to be sure nothing is tangled and the Ryobi was so bad I returned it as the motor stopped turning on after it’d clog or tangle, it clogged constantly over hair and I’d have to disassemble the damn thing but the absolute worst were the rollers would be so tangled I had to cut the hair out and rip it off as best I could to maintain… with the Sharks I’ve never had a clog, it seems to clean well and doesn’t eat rugs and has never tangled even during shedding season and my two have double coats so that’s really saying something. Sharks one downfall is it struggles to suck up on the sides but does better in the front but I’ll take that over tangles. Btw I just received my Black and Decker hand vac Flex with the dog hair tool that I think only QVC is selling… love it! It’s pretty powerful, I haven’t run it long enough to drain the battery because it’s powerful and makes cleaning quick but for me their little invention with the dog hair tool that’s this simple rubber thing with a hole in the center actually works! It works so well I won’t order anything else without that exact same dog hair tool! It’s super light weight, easy to hold with a stretchy hose but that dog tool makes it worth it over other hand vacs! I was skeptical but damn with a little manual back and forth motion that tool somehow gets the hair lifted off furniture or clothing or bedding and sucks it up like it’s nothing. FYI if someone needs a hand vac and dog hair management this is it!
Ive never tried shark products because i always thought Bissell were much better but im looking to try out other brands because one isn't enough for my dogs shedding. Have you compared the sharks to other vacuums such as the dysons?
once you try dyson you never go back, for hair or anything else :))
Thank you for using Wh battery rating.
2:00 I would sell the cat at that point 😂
Great, like I need another Dyson. They do a good job on re-inventing themselves.
I’m surprised you didn’t review or advise on using soap in the Dyson and what you would use as a “neat” soap
It looks like the moping head can be used separately from the Dyson body after some minor adjustments. The head looks simple and easy to use and to clean comparing to other mops. I wish they start selling it separately or some china company copies it.
I think the only issue is that the hole is blocked and the vacuum would give an alert. Just a firmware update, really.
Do you have a video on how to detect if your battery is going on the Dyson? I have had a Dyson for 5 years and I think the battery is going but I’m not sure and I don’t want to spend 150 bucks on a battery if that’s not the issue. I have done all their tests that Dyson recommends online and every time I do a test the result is different so I had to come to vacuum wars with your vast knowledge of Dyson vacuums to ask. Thanks in advance 😊
Please do an update on Hizero’s latest models! I’m curious how it will hold up compared to the submarine!
Hi Gino, one post, FYI.
@@justinwang3427 one post?
What kind of soap or cleaning detergents would u recommend for this? Dyson says none foaming..
Can you put floor soap/cleaner to clean the floor better? Or just water?
The whole point of these Dyson's is to save you time with it lightweight cordless features so vacuuming before mopping is a waste of time for large spaces. I would still use Dyson as a vacuum until they refine the mopping features.
Very cool! But I don’t think this would replace a standard Wet/Dry vac that has suction. Roborock Dyad Pro Review? Or a competition of the best wet/dry vacs?
We need to start thinking about the next floorwasher competition!
Would love to see a review of the Uefy Mach V1 Ultra!@@VacuumWars
@@VacuumWarsyou're right! I'm waiting in this one
Anyone else’s heart drop seeing the spider hairball around 5:30? Happy Halloween everyone
The back keeps changing in the video does the one with the crevices tool have the thing where you press the button once to turn on on or the one where you keep holding I just ordered one and I’m curious
Since the Submarine head doesn’t vacuum, does the main motor still spin loudly? Or is it only the Submarine head motor that’s working?
Finally they released a new a new version of v15
Have this pit against Hizero, both use similar method.
Waiting for a review of Tineco One floor S7 Combo when it hits the market. Hope you will have a chance to test it.
Hello! Thanks so much for the review!
I have a question: What does SV means and whats the difference between SV47 and SV22?
Would love a comparison between this and something like the tineco s5.
Tineco will win hands down!
This man truly does gods work
How is it for reaching under sofas, beds and hard to reach places?
I’m a little bit confused. Can I used the mop with MARBLE and wood floors and change it for use on carpet?
3:56 Infuriating. I got my v15 a few months ago, waited a long time before I was sure, Dyson released a mop attachment for the v12 and now, they release this for a specific v15s model... REALLY?
Same dude
I would be so pissed and salty too!!!
will this machine replace my mop or anything to mop the floor with? or do I still need a rug for the stains?
I always sweep, vacuum and mop bathroom and kitchen floors. I think with the submarine and other heads (not sure which one) I could reduce this to two passes. Hair in the bathrooms is the killer.
If dyson comes out with a great and easy to clean full sized (not just a moping attachment) washing vacuum I would buy it,
They won’t. Dyson aren’t investing in the full size corded format anymore
Get the Numatic/Henry George. Much better than any piece of garbage Dyson. Big Green Clean Machine from Bissel for Carpet.
Makes sense to vacuum before mopping surely!
We have recently purchased this vacuum; hubby bought it.
I find it too heavy, I don’t like that the trigger needs to be held the whole time, which causes hand strain for me. Most of all I find it won’t reach under furniture that sits low on the floor, and as we have hard floors that’s where lots of dust and hair gathers.
Agree. My mom can't use it because it is heavy and you have to use the button to work which for old people or young children might not work. It does t pick any debris. For dry debris, you have to vacuum, fpr wet debris you have to clean yourself by hand first so people with dogs, babies, mud.....I recommend against it
Great Video. Very helpful. Thanks! I just bought the absolute.
Are there any other add-ons that I should consider purchasing from Dyson?
So glad it was helpful! We recently did a video about the utility of a flexible hose: czcams.com/video/IpjcdjGBa0U/video.html
Would love to see this compared tineco
Can you review the Eufy V1 Mach Ultra?
Still awaiting your review of the J9+ roomba combo!
I like it.
Can the submarine attachment double for bathroom floor and wall ccleaning? 😅
Could you do a review of the dyson cinetic big ball up14 vs the dyson ball animal 2
best review watched in a long time
Thank you!
You forgot to mention the most interesting point: the attachments are all model specific. I have the Gen 5 Outsize (or what ever - the bigger one) and they have identical attachments but the submarine is keyed to prevent swapping attachments.
Also batteries are NOT interchangeable either. 😢
Thank you
Are you serious?? What the actual fk kind of anti consumer trash is that
Can you put floor cleaner in the mop? I don’t know why anyone would want to mop with just water
Is the Gen5 the new top model? If so, I find it strange that they did not add a submarine option to it. Maybe it will come later as an option to purchase separately? If not I find this a bit stupid from their side.. since I am not buying another machine for that price in at least 5-10 years.
When are you reviewing the Deebot X2 Omni?
Love all Dyson products
They have done quite well in our reviews!
Could you test it on a more textured floor? Like tiles that are not completely flat (plus how well it cleans the space between tiles).
It doesn't clean the space between tiles. I have to use the steamer on regular flat floor to clean some more because they are still dirty
Why the hell couldn't they make this an addon for the Gen 5 instead of releasing a whole new model?
I really wish they had made a mopping attachment for the new gen5detect.
Looking forward to your review on the Dyson washG1 wet mop😉
We hope it comes to the US!
Can you use it with gen5?
As I got it, it is worse than the Tineco mop, but it can also work as a usual vacuum, so it's more universal
It is good as vacuum, one of the worse as a mop. Once I pay it off, because I can't return it anymore, I will buy some actual hydrovac
I f’ing love this channel
is the submarine superior to the tineco?
Kind of disappointing that they are going to make you buy an entirely new vacuum to get this feature. At their price point it could have easily been made to be an add on to the v15 at least
Sucks consumer wise but a arguably a good business move.
@@TinkerTailorSoldier1 I believe that is debatable. Are people who own a Dyson Vac going to shell out big money for a glorified mop? As per this review, it isn't any better than what is on the market now for a much lower prices
@@scpatl4now
It most certainly is debatable.
I personally think they would be able to move a $300/$400 mop head by itself rather than a whole new system.
However, if it is a programming issue, how do you think they can rectify that?
The older vacuums don’t have wifi. They can’t send a firmware update OTA.
That means everyone would have to send their vacuums in and someone would have to hand program or swap out chips.
Even if people paid for it, what would be easier… normal operations for a new product launch that they’ve done several times before…
…ooooor handling thousands if not tens of thousands of units coming in and out and having to have an American or European staff to make the changes. If not domestically, send them back to the Philippines where they were made?
No, just have a new product.
I don't think it could be retrofit easily. For this attachment to work, the vacuum needs to supply power to the floor head without the suction motor running. Older Dyson vacuums most likely weren't designed/programmed to be able to do that since there wasn't a reason for them to ever turn off the suction motor prior to the release of this attachment.
I agree or just make a wet mop for 60% the price
I love Dyson
Can you add some type of cleaning solution to the submarine (like pine sol etc..) but diluted instead of just pure water?
