Great tip, I’ve bought the hose for all my handheld Dyson’s going back to the DC59. It honestly blows my mind that Dyson don’t just pop one of these into the box considering it fixes the issue of the machines being too heavy to use for anything much that requires fine movements. The vacuum is far too big to get into tight spaces too. This hose fixes all the problems introduced by the necessary design of the vacuum yet they want to charge you extra on top of the many many hundreds of £/$ you already spent.
I used to work as a rep for Dyson, by far this was the tool that I recommended most commonly. It’s relatively affordable and adds so much versatility, especially for older users for dusting by removing the need to lift the vacuum up high where it’s tiring

I got my V11 refurbished on eBay, directly from Dyson, and it came with TWO of these bad boys. They are a real game changer, especially for ceiling fans!!
Would not recommend buying the generic cheap part from Amazon. I bought one and the release button on the attachment mechanism jammed so the thing got stuck on my vacuum cleaner and I couldn't get it off. This is a huge problem because now I can't use other attachments or motor heads or empty the dustbin. It took me 2 hours of sawing and prying to get the stupid thing off. If you are going to get the cheap-o knockoff, make sure the release button is working properly, maybe test it on the attachment clip first.
I scored a Dyson V10 Dok on eBay for 50% off and have been using a hose for the past 4 years. It’s been sooooo amazing. I couldn’t imagine using my V10 or V12 Detect Slim without the hose tbh. Edit: and come to think of it, I don’t stop at the car wash to vacuum ever because it’s made car detailing so awesome.
I got this a few days ago because I was fining it difficult to get into some places. So this is a must have and should have come with the vacuum. I would also recommend the universal adapter attachment. I have two sets of vacuum attachments that need the adapter if I want to use them and do want to use them.
The other thing that is difficult with the handheld Dysons is that they move so much air that the exhaust tends to blow lightweight stuff (like cat hair) around before you can suck it up. This seems like the perfect cure to that problem. I just bought a little mini Shark dustbuster for exactly this reason. It works great, but I wish I had known about these hose attachments for my V8 as I think that would have solved my problem without buying another vac.
Absolutely must have accessory for any stick vac. I have Miele Triflex and it's terrible for using those small attachments. I need to find generic 35mm hose for it.
Great idea. I'm getting one! Do you know what isn't great about the newer Dysons? That mini-powered brush head. It has huge gaps on either side and it doesn't pick up well. And this comes from a self-avowed "Dyson fanboy". That said, it's too bad the hose attachment doesn't have power.
Also buy a 3rd party on-off attachment that keeps the Dyson on until you toggle it off. This helps reduce fatigue in the hand holding the vacuum. It also has an effect on battery life too, as it's on more.
I bought this one from Amazon and the hose and where you connect snapped in half because the glue wasn't strong enough, I returned it and bought the generic one from Dyson and yes it makes cleaniing easier

Also, the product page is confusing since it says it should also come with a flexible crevice pipe. It didn’t. The age of proprietary attachments even from the same company vacuums. Great.

Shame it isn't electrified (would help for car cleaning) and I think Dyson missed a trick by not including a shoulder strap for use with the non-trigger machines. That would allow them to compete with companies like Makita and Oreck who offer that kind of thing, be it cordless or corded. Edit: Have you seen the Karcher HV 1/1 Bp Fs? What an odd machine, the entire nose of the machine is the (tiny) dust bin and it's opaque.

I find my Dyson 8 a lot easier to use for many things. This attachment might help the awkwardness of the 10 that I purchased but you are still stuck holding the heavy part of it. The canister is too long and in the way to use it to clean something up close or on the counter. I use my 8 all the time to clean my Roomba but the 10 isn't useful for this.
I have an old V6 I refurbished and it's light enough I can use it. Handheld style and still get some good accuracy with the nozzle but I could definitely see the models like he showed being hard to hoist around like that.
No. What I need is a battery that's worthy of the vacuum. I've had 2 batteries that develop a memory and stop taking a charge and I don't want to have to buy an other one that's going to do the same thing.
Just buy one second hand. They show up at goodwill all the time and the older models are just as good generally speaking. The one thing Dyson has over 90% of the cheaper vacuums is the ability to buy replacement parts for it. That means so long as the motor is good everything else on the machine can be bought and sometimes has a third party equivalent that's cheaper.

I have this and it made car interior cleaning so much better! Its also great for cleaning your desk since your arm wont get tired with the heavy V15
