What Scotty didn't mention is the lubricating quality of Lucas Fuel Additive. The injectors and fuel pump are mechanical devises which benefit from lubrication. Gasoline is ok for cleaning, but poor for lubricating. Also, which extends the life of the engine, the lubrication added to the fuel will benefit the top piston ring and upper cylinder.

Whenever I used the Lucas fuel additive, regardless of where I bought gas, I would always get an extra 2-3 mpg over 400 highway miles. Even if it's not doing much cleaning, the extra mpg alone more than pays for itself if you buy the gallon jugs. Most differential work is replacing carrier bearings, pinion bearings and axle bearings. It's very satisfying work and if you take a class and buy a few special tools you can have a lot of fun. You do have to study it first, especially pinion depth, but if you are only replacing carrier bearings which is the most common job you only have to know how to measure backlash and adjust backlash.

The only difference is when a company , like Shell , dumps an additive into the tanker when it’s being loaded with gas. IT ALL COMES FROM THE SAME PIPELINE ! Now they have an injector system that puts the additive in while the tanker truck is being filled .

It seems to have more strength now and when I step on the gas I notice I don’t have to step as hard. It sounds better. So it seems to me like I’ve had some improvement with my car. And I met a guy with a truck in O’Reillys who told me that Lucas additive works well for him. Generally my car seems to be better, so I don’t know how much I agree with Scott about this. Today, I filled up on 87 and added Turbo 108. I felt a difference immediately; the engine ran smoother and the knocking stopped. Be aware you MUST use it on a full tank or it will affect your spark plugs and emission system.
