My first day with the new A4 avant, made a drive from Germany, 600 km and it was great, really quiet at all speeds, great suspention, lots of space in the front, Iam 6,1, great car
This new A4 is actually very attaractive. Seems they've managed to eliminate the "boring-ness" of the previous model.

The 1.4 petrol starts at 'just' 26k+!!!!...when you start ticking boxes that will increase by about 10k...i just spec'ed the 2.0tfsi 252ps derivative and ticked a few boxes and ended up with a number starting with 5 (and im talking uk pounds)...for a 2.0 petrol.....im more interested in the new turbocharged s4 how much arrle those gojng to be!!!, im sorry...these are just too expensive (fyi im already a vag driver).

whats up with the mmi screen not folding into the dash
That's in A6, not A4. Actually I prefer not sliding into dash as common issue with A6 folding screens is that it stops sliding and either is stuck inside of the dash or outside.

40k for an A4.. you can get S3/RS3 for that sort of money! I know which one I'd pick! Audi just seem to be lacking in their cars of late, as whilst the interiors are nice, the slab sided look of the A6/A8 and to some extent the A4 just make them look boring - which for the price is certainly not good! With their rivals also mainly being RWD it means they're slower too in average conditions, granted when it snows/rains, or shows evidence of mist on the ground the BMW/Mercs are hopeless!

so I've got a choice here. I either get a less powerfull and less equipped Audi A4 (or Bmw 3 or mercedes C) or I can go for the smaller brother (A3, bmw 1 or mercedes A) with more power and options.
What do you guys think?

Nice review, but I would say most people watching will know that something that's aerodynamic cuts through air better. Also, saying something is "competitively priced against it's competitors" is tautological. Script errors more than anything else.
how much pollution does it emit? same as VW?

+Stuart Crane I usually find the official 'Urban' rating isn't far off what you can expect in the real world. It's the optimistic extra urban figure that is most misleading.
Please quote what you get while on your tests...Thats a real world figure! You drove it so nobody can say its not true....

You pay too much in order to get a 'complete' car. Too many optionals, and bad client services as I hear from many people.
Go and own an Audi and you experience amazing customer experience. Company car drivers maybe, but from owners perspective I have had no better customer service on any other brand of cars. Audi rocks!
