Cinematographer Gordon Willis loves your videos. đThey get darker and darker with every post. I love it too! Cozy AF!!!đđœ
Who's Cinematographer Gordon?
@@HOLLASOUNDS I think he shot the godfather movies
14:13 Love when you locked in that bass line haha
The color and warmth and lighting in your videos is such a perfect complement to your presentation style and your music. Love your work, bro!
Man I love your videos so much. Everything from the music, to the framing, to the colour correcting. Just so visually appealing and musically informative. Stay awesome dude :)
Really appreciate what you shared about experimenting with house rhythms. Sometimes I get tripped up and overthink hat patterns or end up adding way too much off the jump and it ruins the groove. Simplicity is always key with little accents and changes in velocity to keep things spicy and interesting đ
Yeah itâs surprising how much velocity can actually add to a drum pattern. I always make that exact same mistake that you do and just create the craziest rhythm which then doesnât allow me to fit anything else within the groove and I get discouraged. And itâs usually until I just make another track with just a kick and thatâs it and that helps me get through
@@RickyTinez It's one of the reasons I love probability on sequencers, I can write a really busy line and then turn down the probability on various beats until you are left with only the essential hits for a groove but there are little extra sprinkles now and again to spice things up. It's a fine line.
Love the vibes and listening to Rickyâs creative process in these videos, sooo chill
Every time I feel so inspired and motivated to sit down and try the things out you showed us in the video, so simple but super effective stuff, really appreciate that you are sharing things like that with the community! đâ€
Chopping on the transients, turning off warp and using the tail to fill up the gaps was a great tip! Thank you.
8 tracks⊠5 drum, 1 sample, 1 bass, and 1 synth. Thatâs all you need to make a song! Love this.
Coool music Ricky!!! The video shots are so clean!! âš
Love your videos man ! Thanks for the tips and tricks !
You made my day! Absolutely love watching you work. đ
Great vid Ricky. Content and the look/feel. Love it
Really vibing on this one! Oooof, That Groove!! Keep up the great work! đđ
âRight vibeâ as we like to say around our house. More like this please. Also it would be cool to like tune into a live stream and see the arrangement process / finishing stage. Keep up the grind.
inspiring stuff! The best of analog and digital forreal
probably the greatest intro in the game. I love Sonic State's, but your's is just... ART, like a mother.
Really enjoying this đ
Love your Push videos Ricky!
Loved this video man, great work..
Dear Ricky, it is so fun to hear how your ear works and thinks, in addition to you presenting your workflow. Real masterclass by an electronic music great. Thank you my man!
Yo! Thank you for the kind words and hanging out. I appreciate you
@@RickyTinez love and respect from Tel Aviv!
Man Really like your Setup and videos man! Hope to one day have a nice vibey studio like yours !
Super cozy and informative. Thanks dude
Good vibes as always.
Great taste for house music Ricky !!!
Great hang video, thanks Ricky.
Yo, you need to realease this one ricky. I need it for my ear holes!
Amazing creation, excellent.
You make this look sooooo easy!
the reason i really love ur set up is ur desk. god im always out of desk space lmao
Great content as always!
Dope vibe, super underrated. much love...
14min20 ahah. "riiight in da pocket"
Feeling it as hell!
Just had to take a second to appreciate that gorgeous mechanical keyboard. Okay back to the video!
some real mojo coming from that Blooper->Shallow Water combo - niiice
Ricky, your videos are top notch, like masterclass quality. Keep the great stuff coming! Also not sure if youâve done a video on this already, but if not then could you make one about how to run ableton through guitar pedals like youâve done with the blooper in this video? And maybe even how you connect all your devices together like the peak with the push and routing into ableton?
i have actually! check this video out -czcams.com/video/FgVD464lv3I/video.html
thanks for watching!
finally a part of the Push 2 user cult đ great hang as always dude!
Ricky, your music always sounds great! The Blooper seems like a great tool for inspiration, unfortunately its very expensive!
Yeah itâs definitely a luxury tool to help with the creative process. I do stuff very similarly in terms of exploration on an SP404SX but you can probably get a lot cheaper now. If you just focused on sample mangling and sample manipulation itâs really good
Inspiring self playing modular bass patch = mind blown
Thank you, Ricky.
Summer Madness By Kool & The Gang is the tune you were looking for ;)
Man, youâre so open minded! Just so pleasant listening you :)
Great vid Ricky! I've been noticing the same thing on my Push 2. At first I thought the pads were going bad, but seeing you have the same hanging note issue makes me think it's a Live 11 thing. Hopefully it gets patched soon.
Oh yeah, vibey!
that was a banger!!
Awesome bro!
Great video! The bass line reminds me of Octave One - Burujha
The Bob Ross of beats......happy little beats :-)
My man said "fandangling". Hell yea Ricky
Hey i really love the music for dogs part lol
nah but really nice man, great video! i love these concepts

@@HOLLASOUNDS Hi, how are you doing?
@@artsolomon202 Having issues setting up My Peak Synthesizer I bought yesterday.
Hi Ricky, love your videos! Loving the groove in this video. How do you connect all your synths to Ableton?
Ricky Tinez congrats on the Summertime//Dog Whistle⊠if you shift the filter balance and make the Lead into a Bass youâll get it sound more like a âForce-Fieldâ

+1 for bringing Kool and the Gang
straight wibes
The pedal effects and chopping remind me of the cool things the Organelle gets away with. You should borrow one.
Kool & the gang - summer madness
I love your remark on working against oneâs brain from time to time. It made instantly sense to me ⊠but I have to figure out what sense - and which brain. :-D
As for weird MIDI stuff going on, I myself am facing what seem to be USB issues with my 2020 MBP. I cannot point my finger at it yet, but most USB related hiccups were introduced to my setup with the update to Big Sur. It has almost brought me to the pint of giving up on doing music on Mac with DAW (Cubase in my case) as it has gone from annoying to being a pain. Yet I am still trying to figure out what might be my problem here - and if I manage to do so, I am going to share what solved the issue for me.
Until next time, thanks for that video, Ricky!
Whoa, Iâm happy to hear Iâm not the only one pulling my hair out. Please keep me updated if you do you find anything out about it and shoot it to my email! Also GU.. as in Glenn?
Nop, it's Summer Madness by Kool & the Gang. But great tips, i really enjoy your vibe
You're right, or as sampled by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince in Summertime czcams.com/video/Kr0tTbTbmVA/video.html
Not that I object - it's fun to loop through the octaves like that and it does sound like a summer evening
Thank you so much đđđđđđčđ§đ¶đâïžđ
This is exactly what i was looking for!
The push is just such an important piece of gear in my setup and I always am looking for nice jams and guides
Thanks Ricky!
awesome tune, great vid as always, and I love your clickity claikity computer keyboard - what is it?
Cool Ableton trick
Heavenly sounds, as always. Are you planing to release this track?
If I ever finish it, hell yeah. Itâs a banger haha
Awesome "in the pocket" bass on that. :) Hey, I was thinking about your setup, and did you thought about using "midi-synth peak"? It allows you to control Peak with a vst. It works pretty well. I even did a Ableton rack for it, so it makes automation a breeze, with the real parameters name. Anyway, still liking your desk? ( I have the same Platform, but I am having quite hard time to find out the optimal keyboard / mouse place! ) ;-)
Love it, whats the QWERTY keyboard? Thanks......
Hey Ricky, love the videos man. I just got a pair of the tma-2 wireless because of your video. Any tips on getting the audio louder without it distorting the signal sent? I thought I might have figured it out by adding a limiter but wanted to see if you had a better solution.
I usually donât mess with the volume on the headphones (The three buttons on the side) and I only rely on my audio interface headphone volume. Does your intervase have some weird DSP routing where it might be quiet? I find that might get pretty loud without distorting. Now that I think about it, I donât think they have ever distorted haha
@@RickyTinez Iâm using universal audio interfaces. In the manual it said something about it distorting if the audio reaches a certain threshold so I made sure to start using a limiter lol. Maybe I just like my music a little louder than usual. I am using the drivers that came with the headphones though
man, I am ready to dance at already at 2:11
14:10 Right in the pocket!!
What happened to the Rosson headphones and what are you using now?
Keep up the great work sir. Nice jams and vibes.
The effect is called Wow and Flutter and is mimicking what an old broken tape player or record player sounds like.
Thnx for the info! đ
@@artsolomon202 You will also hear wow and Flutter with most new tape players they are all rubbish quality today and cheap record players.
@@HOLLASOUNDS i am just starting to figure out what kind for effects exist, and this sound i can imagine i could use in some way, again thnx!
@@artsolomon202 If you use Reason as a Daw or plugin the 20 year old half device called Unison does the effect.
@@HOLLASOUNDS i use cubase 10 , only purchased recently so i am still figuring out how it all works, but i will take look at "reason" , thnx for the advice.
Btw, is that the novation peak you were talking about in the other comment, how is the sound on that thing? Ive seen the advertisement of that, but still dont know how it sounds.
Loved this low swung vibe. It's inspiring. Looking forward to the next stage of development
Your the best friend Iâve never met đ
Reminds me of Gerling - Dust Me Selecta
đđŸđđŸđđŸđđŸ
Cruising Santa Monica beach with the top down and some fresh beats, you gotta make a video for this song, I can see it!
Gettin' Ricky with it! La La La La LaLa
It's not a Rap beat, except for Wll Smith.
Maaaan I need to get you to release some stuff on my label!
I've also been getting the hanging notes issue since upgrading to Live 11. Let me know if you figure anything out!
How are you routing your sample track through the pedals and then back into live?
Iâm just using the external âeffect plug-inâ that comes with live. Itâs super good!
That routes audio within a track to a designated output and back into live through a design nated input!
@@RickyTinez Thanks!
What mouse pad is that?!?!
Are those bluetooth Studio headphones? What model is that?
I might have got my wires tangled here, but isn't the "Summertime" lead lifted from/inspired by a similar lead sound from Roy Ayres' "Everybody Loves The Sunshine"?
Kool and the gang summer madness
@@p.ii.5104 There you go...I stand corrected.
Hated hitting the like button when it was '747'. But, someone had to do it ;)
hahaha that's me at every 606 i come across

Fuck those pedals sound cool.
I see good music and music that just sucks to me, and it does not matter. I own some pedals yet frankly, most stuff I hear I can duplicate or have more options by running signals through my rack samplers. Most DAWs can make great tracks, and most of them have similar features, so there's no logical reason to spend a lot of money, nor update them often, unless the updates are free. I have older copies of Sonic Foundry and Acid, and I installed Reaper, VCV, and some other open source software. One thing I just bought that's worth the money is my PolyEnd Tracker.I love hybrid studios with samplers and some pedals because there's almost infinite options..
What happens at 5:00 ? Was it on purpose?
Maybe someone said already, but are you thinking of Summer Madness by Kool and the Gang?
yep that's the one haha
Midi notes hanging sound more like a USB driver issue to me.
Did you find a solution already?
I have to follow you đ©đ°
Hey, I remember Ricky said what headphones he has, however I canât find it anywhere lol. I even remember bookmarking the website. Any chance anyone can give me the name.
Guitar pedals, bluetooth headphones in the studio.. where are we going?
Well, that video was an absolute pleasure. I feel uplifted, inspired and impressed as fuck,!
