- This Peterbilt 389 Glider got in a fender bender this past summer. Now it's back from a so called "Professional Shop". The shop is a big name in trucking with locations all over the United States. In this video I go over the mistakes that were made on this outrageous $25,000 job. And after watching this video you'll see why companies like this shop are sitting on such large fortunes. Let this be a reminder to be careful doing business out there and don't let it happen to you.
Maaco would have done better , lol. I would be raising hell with somebody.
That says it all right there. Hahaha.
What the hell are you scared of? Name the shop. You are telling the truth so the repair shop doesn't have a leg to stand on
Exactly, name them!
You are right in so many ways!
Thanks brother.
I really hope you get back to them about this. Hopefully you can get them to fix their mistakes without too big a fight.
It will be a fight…
You darn right, for sure. But we got to fight the good fight, right?
@@nedstephens
Absolutely!
Rush peterbilt i know they took me to town, 35,000 later. It will never be perfect after a body work
Wow that’s painful. But I certainly empathize.
You are right , That is a top of the line Pete , I would have to see them in Court for that butcher job Brother !!
Most of all I hope others don’t make same mistake 🙏
Brother, same thing happened to me. Got it back and the hood on my W9 didn’t even line up. Still have issues
Perplexing ain't it brother! Hope you get yours worked out though.
Im a Retired driver. Cant believe you paid them for that kind of job. I would of got a Lawyer.
I feel ya. But not my truck. Old school guy like yourself wouldn’t take that kind of bull from a shop. I just try to stop the ones of today from lining up for this. 👍
I think it’s make sense. Pete parts are extremely expensive my truck frontside fender and head light damaged by accident. Dealership charged insurance $little over $13000
😬
I'm guessing rush peterbilt one in texarkana does work just like that lazy I can't say for other pete dealers
Big Money and pathetic techs are the worst combinations.
to flatten the bumper straighter take the passenger bolts out and put a 1/4 plate of steel behind it.. (shim it out flush)
That’s a good idea. I’ll have to remember that for other projects I run into. 🤙
I always pull my pete in the spot never back maybe should have got new hood
Very smart. Believe me you want to avoid this stuff.
You def got ripped dude.
Should've hired Stevie Wonder.
It must be this way all over the world not just where i live. Absolutely no respect to the owner or the car. They just rip everything off and put it back with duct tape. And it's sad they do this with other parts too which influence the safety of the car. This is the world we live in...
Absolutely. Gotta be on the constant lookout because these bills can run a guy out of business quick.
It looked better with the headlights you put on it
You know what, I liked those too. Alot cheaper as well.
Ya pay for this and they give ya that.!!! No class there budd…
Did you call them and give them an opportunity to fix all of your concerns?
Absolutely. It’s a back and forth.
Thats some of the reason insurance rates are higher. At same time, owner of truck could be getting a cash settlement and we know how it works, dont we old school
You're exactly right. So we pay on the crappy repair, and then pay month after month on outrageous rates!
Who is the shop?
Unbelievable i would be ticked to
You did look it over before signing off?
Wasn’t mine. But the guy sure did sign off even after pointing out the problems 😡
After all this BS you don’t tell us who ??? Glad you care about the rest of us truckers , what a J O !!!!!
I care deeply. Just have more plans for something bigger in the future.
@@nedstephens
Your plans won’t help anybody that’s Getn work done now our in the near future sir just facts dont get offended
A progressive driver backed into my 06 Scion in great shape. They say the damage totaled car then didn't total car and paid 2000 for a quarter panel and door making car totaled where car was in good condition was worth the 5000 the estimate allows for a good condition Scion so I get the 2000 isn't right is it where ited be 6000 to replace the quarter panel
I hope you didn't sign off on that shitty workmanship! Not for that kind of Money!!
You’re right on. I would never sign off on that. But unfortunately people don’t even look stuff over when they pick it up. 🤷♂️
@@nedstephens I have no faith in big name or franchised anything when it comes to auto repair. Word of mouth is more honest.
The other HEADLITES look MUCH BETTER
than those ALIEN 389 HEADLITES!!!!
Why wouldn't you go through a deep observation before paying that kind of money out. Jezz
Right on. Hope I can convey the need for that in this video.
Why even air this if you are protecting the of the "Professional Shop" who did this?
Don't sign off on it
Yeah I know it’s ridiculous. Thanks.
Maybe they Rush the job???
🫵 might be right.
25000 I would have made him redo it
Exactly!
You drive a Pete and your used to overspending for your needs.
You ain’t lying!
If you think Pete is bad...Try an international!
You should not have accepted that repair
I know. It’s terrible for sure.
I gave you a thumbs down because you didn't give the name of the shop.
I probably deserve that.
You need to name the shop so we don’t go there
Take it back !!
His insurance company can reopen the claim , I suggest he has them do that
Thumbs down here for same reason
I can't believe anybody would pay 25k for a "hood" repair. What's wrong with you? A new hood is 7-8k a used one is 4-6k and some paint , I don't know maybe 700 dollars that repair should been maybe 10-12k or less if you include labor. And much less if you had DIY. You would probably gotten a better outcome.
Yeah I can’t believe it either. Not my truck but I handled a lot of stuff on it. I’ll tell ya this, the original estimate came to over $30k. Wild! Tried to do similar as you say, but guys want easy. Don’t want to spend time getting parts and such. Then they get taken to the cleaners. I like your style!
Grow a pair
That sums things up nicely!
😂 it's all a big rip off 🤘👍
U need to share the name of the shop dude, so no one would learn the lesson on the hard way too !!!!!
I can empathize with that. But this type of stuff won’t happen if people really take the time to find the right shop and then hold them accountable when it goes wrong. Like I said in the video it’s a jungle out there. Plus I Got something planned for this shop in the future. Don’t want to ruin it.
