- This is a pretty fun car!
The brand new 1/12 scale RC Desert Truck from Haiboxing.
Now, we have tried the 1/18 and 1/16 scale vehicles from Haiboxing and been rather happy with how they perform for the rock bottom price they are sold at. So, when we heard about this 1/12 scale vehicle coming out, I was very curious how it would perform!
Spoiler alert - rather well actually!
With the current coupons available on Amazon, this truck can be had for just under $100! Comes with 2, 2S lipo batteries, a USB charger for them and even lights!
Make sure to check out the trick way they wire the lights in to help prevent ripped out wires!
Like the other vehicles we have from Haiboxing, they are not extreme bashers like our Arrma 6S lineup or Traxxas X-Maxx...but you could also purchase 9(!) of these for the price of one X-Maxx! Literally everyone in the neighborhood could be racing!

It is fun. Really hard to beat for the price.
Is it the fastest, most durable, etc? No. But fun for the $!

It does OK - please don't consider that it is a strong crawler though. It would be fun to take out on a trail!
@@RoadsideRC I have a wooded land just for that. I hardly have anything for rock crawler as it doesn't have extremely high hills. Just to make the trail similar to rally tracks. Not high speeds but to make it fun is what I wanna try. I got cones for checkpoints or gates, ramps for jumps. Anything I could think of.

That’s super cool, I’m surprised of the speed, maybe if you take the spare tire off it will lose some weight.
When I had my xinglehong 1/16 brushless car it was a rocket, almost did standing backflips, also accidentally steeped on it and nothing broke 😁

dang affordable RC's have definitely come a long way! I remember all I had access to were the ones at Target before I discovered the used market lol
EXACTLY! Comes with 2 lipos and everything! Certainly not as good as some of the major vehicles out there, but we still had a lot of fun with it!

I was very happy with the truck how it was out of the box. The only thing I would recommend is upgrading the shocks to true oil filled units.
Just checked - I do not see them available on Amazon right now. Keep watching, they pop up occasionally.

Oil shocks are certainly a nice upgrade! They make a large difference.
Quick question what Adapter do i use to charge the battery bc the Adapter overheats so what Adapter do i use??
Not sure I fully follow your question.
The battery has a Dean's connector on it.
Hey there , love your videos . New to RC crawlers . I message you about a Traxxas trx4 on your bridge building video for Big Buddha RC ranch my wife and I still looking to go check that place out . But we when to RC Field Days on September 3 , 2023 on a Sunday . And he give my wife and I this RC car . With your sticker on the side of it. Love the car to rip it on my road .

Honestly, that is part of the reason I am doing more drifting and crawling. There are very little repairs, and the batteries are cheaper!
Good buggy. Must get the oil filled shocks to tame it if you take it off road. Really needs a 3s battery for more punch in soft dirt. The 2s doesn't have enough grunt.

Thanks Roadside RC. Ya the Protector is the 4th version of the HBX buggies. My first choice was the Dune Thruster( 2 speeds,spare wheel) - Dune Thunder had the rear wing, single speed. 413 RC does a great comparison vid of the latest 3 buggies. I came on board too late to try and purchase the Thruster. A few "overseas"sites still listing it but they lie about having it in stock with stupid high prices! The blue one on Amazon ($158!!) is another bad seller.
So I WAS able to locate the 2995 Desert Truck on Amazon yesterday - had to type in a different title to get it to show up. Only 1 left now.....success!
Not able to locate this 2995 since my misfortune. Bummer. I did find one on Amazon but not through your link. It was listed under a different title. There were only 2 and I scooped up one. That item arrived May 9. The damn thing was USED! Missing the 4 extra clips, someone installed the decals(sloppy) and it had scuffs & scratches on bottom frame! Returning it today for a full refund. Seller claimed Amazon deemed it OK to resale and list as NEW. WTF?

Finally bought the "upgraded" 2995 from Amazon (prices kept going up & down - geeez). Now I'm trying to get extra rear stock shocks(blue w/ white springs) to have that quad look. Not too concerned if they are oil filled. CANNOT seem to locate these anywhere? (unavailable on Amazon)Suggestions?
It now comes with 540 motor! 💪

I just gave this to my son for Christmas. Used it 1 day and the motor won't run. The wheels will turn, but the buggy won't move. Any suggestions? Do I need a new motor? Only used it for 1 day before this happened. Thanks
I am very surprised! You will see a video coming out this week where we BEAT on this thing at a skate park and it drove home.

Contact the email address in the papers in the box. They are quick to respond and help with spare parts. I bet they will send you a new motor ASAP.

I must have thrown away any other papers with all the wrapping paper. All I have is the instruction booklet, but that doesn't have contact info. Thank you.

Bashing is the speed, jumping, doing crazy stuff part of the RC hobby.
There are a few bashers out there like the Arrma Kraton 6S and the Traxxas X-Maxx. These are vehicles that do really crazy jumps and stunts and live to tell about it.
This truck is very fun for the price. But still, it can not compete with vehicles like that.

@@bipantera I can't co.pare it to the 12428, I never owned one of those. I only ever had the 10428. This seems more durable than the 10428.
