    With a five-star SHARP safety rating and a sub-£200 pricetag it’s not hard to see why the Caberg Duke II is such a popular flipfront helmet. Want to know more? OK, go on then…

    This is maybe a replacement for my Roof Boxer V8. I have two Caberg helmets. They fit me perfectly. It's a shame the chin bar doesn't go back as far as the Roof's.

    I have been using Caberg helmets for the last 7 years or so and have not a single complaint. 5* SHARP rating, comfortable and a very reasonable price point. Amazes me when magazines do a kit test on Flip fronts they usually don't get a mention.

    Loved my Duke 2, brilliant helmet and one I would recommend for anyone looking at a sub £200 flipfront.

    I paid £85 for an ex demo one and I'm very pleased with it. Mainly used for commuting and wear a Shoei for longer runs. Great value for money compared to the bigger named brands.

    Got one myself. Bought it in 2020 and about to replace the inner lining. I think it’s really great of Caberg to have replacement parts made available. Helps reduce the costs of motorcycling by allowing you to replace certain parts when needed instead of the whole helmet. I wonder if that mouthpiece area wasn’t designed like that on purpose. I also had it touch my chin before, but found it to be very sensitive to the “attack” angle you mount it on your head. Just tilt it upwards into the spot and helmet won’t touch your chin and the sun visor won’t hinder your view forward, you’ barely notice it.

    Any comment on the internal shape of the Duke 2? is it meant for rounder heads, narrow ones, or more in-between? Thanks!

      There's nothing on this from Caberg themselves. Best help I can be is that I have a round head (breadth and length are equal measurements) and the Duke 2 was comfortable for me. Cheers, Tony

    2 questions about this helmet. 1 the insert for the intercom is at ear level or cheek level? 2 what the helmet like for winter riding to work on a cold morning from 2c to -2c?

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  Před rokem +3

      The intercom inserts are at ear level and I wore this helmet for some rides to work last winter and had no problems with it. The Pinlock doesn't cover the whole visor so there's a bit of a letterbox effect that you'll notice in the onboard footage at 3:37 for example, but this wasn't a big issue. Cheers, Tony

    Im looking at 2 helmets on your site this one and a shark s900 dual. Which one qoukd you recomend as the better one ?

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  Před 9 měsíci

      It's more a case of which is better for you. If you feel a flipfront function is important then you clearly need to go for the Duke II. If it isn't, then I would suggest having the security of the fixed chinbar on the Shark. The biggest influencing factor should be fit for your head - if one is more comfortable for you than the other then that is the route to take. Cheers, Tony

    I was thinking of getting one of these for their safety rating alone, but looking more at it I think its a bit of a dissappintment, I think I'll just order another LS2 Scope as it has better air flow and controls/ease of use

    Hello from Thessaloniki Greece. There is a new version, the Duke EVO 2023 that has many upgrades...would please test that too? Thanks!

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  Před rokem

      The new Duke is on our list and we'll have a review of that up as soon as possible. The new safety regulations mean there are a lot of new helmets this year to work our way through! You say many upgrades, but I can't see a lot of change from the existing helmet so perhaps you could help make sure we are talking about the same helmet. Do you have a link please? Cheers, Tony

    How does the Caberg Duke Evo compare with this one please?

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  Před 8 měsíci +1

      The Duke Evo review is underway and from my inspections I'd say the main helmet portion is essentially the same as the Duke II, but the chinbar and visor are new. There's a switchable chin vent on the Evo and I feel the visor mounting mechanism is better. The comfort lining is also superior to the Duke II. The Evo is also approved to the newer ECE 22.06 safety standard. The Duke II is now discontinued, superseded by the Duke X, which has had some minor tweaks and also meets the 22.06 standard. I hope this helps. Cheers, Tony
