    OHMYGOD HEY!
At the end of September, my stagey fiancé Aeron James and I headed to New York for the second time to see as many shows as possible.
In this final part of the vlog, we exprienced two different skyscraper viewing platforms (The Empire State Building and The Edge), made many trips to Schmackarys for cookies and paid our first visit to the famous Ellen's Stardust Diner.
Of course we also saw plenty of shows including SIX: the Musical, HERE WE ARE at The Shed, HAIR at Two River Theatre, and MOULIN ROUGE on Broadway.

I'm sorry I heard you say Aaron Tveit in Moulin Rouge and lukewarm in the same sentence and I stopped computing 😂 no, I respect your opinion, I just love Moulin Rouge with my whole heart and Aaron singing in it literally takes my breath away. Currently planning my 6th Broadway trip. Going for 13th show in 9 days. Will see how it goes 😅

Had a great time chatting again at the meetup. You're welcome for the B&W cookies 😀 And I am glad to hear you were able to make it to B&H - it's definitely an experience! Also the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade musical numbers are performed in front of the 34th Street entrance.

Here's a tip for avoiding the long line to enter the Al Hirshfeld from 8th avenue. You can enter from the other side on 45th between 8th and 9th. There's about 10 times less usage of that entry.

When you're in NYC again, I recommend the Roosevelt Island tram for a good skyline view. It also featured in a King Kong movie. Also less pricey than tickets to ESB.

When I saw the title of this vlog I thought how much more could they have done. However, when I saw the 1+ hr running time I was a little dubious and unsure if I would be able to sit through the whole vlog. To my surprise the time watching the vlog flew by. I was astounded at the amount of content you were able to shoehorn into the 1hr. I appreciated you sharing your touristy explorations as well as highlighting your non-theater show adventures. I love the idea of an annual pilgrimage to NYC. Hopefully maybe our paths may cross. This was a great NYC theater series. Take care.

Glad you got to B&H, it's an amazing store. I always wish I was rich when I go there, cause I want everything lol. Also glad you saw Here Lies Love, I think it's the best musical of 2023, am shocked & saddened that it closed today (11-26). I caught Spamalot last week, it's terrific, def. check it out on your next visit "Interesting" is a good word to describe 'Grey House.' lol The staging (set, lighting, sound, etc) & performances were terrific; the writing - not so hot. I live a short walk from Hudson Yards & enjoy going there. But never been to the observation deck, cause standing on a glass floor so high up in the sky would freak me out. Kudos to Aeron for braving it! Gonna miss your NYC videos, hope you're back to cover the Tony's. 🤞

Was so envious at the part where you talked about all the shows you've seen!
(Also, there's a Hebrew song in the background at that part, so unexpected. Maybe related to the holiday you said happened at the time. I think some orthodox people dance to it on the streets on some holidays.)

@@aptadpamu yeah but i don't care who i got as MJ. Plus Myles will have an alternate and won't tell the audience which performances the alternate will be on. I got Aramie on Broadway no one in the audience loved him. Huge moments in the show to applaud and cheer for him. Right now a former younger Simba on broadway is now MJ.

    • @aptadpamu
      @aptadpamu Před 7 měsíci +1

@amycarcaterra8177 Wait, you said no one liked Aramie? I loved Aramie's take on MJ. But sadly, he's left the show, too. At least Tavon is still there... right?

Thanks for sharing your journeys. Thanks for highlighting regional theatres. Glad you were able to resolve the microphone situation. Already looking forward to hearing about your next trip.
Impressive that you have now seen 3 of the 5 high viewing platforms on your two NYC trips. The best is supposedly One Summit Vanderbilt by Grand Central. Cannot confirm as I have not been. Do you plan to try that or One World Observatory near Ground Zero, or are you done with observation desks? (since Aeron is not a fan)
What was the favorite non-theatre thing you did while you were in the United States?
Recently saw a number of shows, including some you saw - Merrily (understudy for Lindsay Mendez, Jamila Sabates-Klemm), Here We Are, Purlie Victorious, Six, and Gutenberg. Planning 2024 trip as well.

I feel the same way about Ellen's Stardust Diner, I like Gayle's Broadway Rose at the Edison a lot better. The vast majority of performances are musical theatre related and the servers do a great job of immersing the diners into each number. I would recommend checking it out next time you are in NYC.

First I am THRILLED you saw a show at 54 Below it's at the top of my list to hit when I make it back to NYC since I love it's vibe. Whenever I see someone else on for a role I really wanted to see the principle for I embrace the chaos & curveball & am usually never disappointed. As far as GG pretty much a lock it's going to transfer just a mater of what theater & when will it get announced. Next year is STACKED though so we shall see what happens with shows yet to announce a run.

Nvm. Left the comment before I got to the end. I look forward to your thoughts on GG because mine were mixed.
Also, if you're able to swing it on your next trip, I would suggest taking a train to DC to see a show down here. There are many beautiful theatres in the area but the Kennedy Center is the biggest and most well-known (I'd suggest the Broadway Center Stage series shows as the ones most worth traveling for, if one coincides with your trip. These are kind of like encores in new york -- short runs, big names, innovative but minimal staging. The series this coming season is Tick Tick Boom, Nine, and Bye Bye Birdie). The Arena stage (original home of DEH pre-broadway), Woolly Mammoth (pre-broadway home of A Strange Loop), and Ford theatre (pre-broadway home of Come From Away) all host lots of interesting shows, just to name a few. A train (amtrak) is about 3.5 hours each way from new york to dc so you could make a roundtrip in a day around a matinee, or spend a couple days seeing DC. Sorry if that was too much but happy to share more if you are interested.

There's also a heist escape room at escape hunt (other side of bryant park from times square) that features the painting from Sunday in the Park with George.

Saw MJ and didn't get who I got as little michael/middle michael/MJ. Aramie Payton was MJ he was a blast, dancing blew me away, & acting he made you cry/laugh. Him and Bailey McCall as Rachel had so much sexy chemistry and easy matched. MJ and whoever plays Rachel needs that chemistry. They may need to bring in american and actors/actresses from canada for the ensemble. Ensemble dancers/singers needs to be 10/10 and can't miss a beat. Hopefully the theatre in London will be really large or the music will be a letdown especially the sound design.
