- I said I was gonna do it, so I did. Shii's Song video in 4K. Beautiful musical animation. If it doesn't touch your soul, you're probably not human. RIP moot.
Technical crap: The SWF converter software I used maxed it out a bit above 1440p (so I guess "4k remastered is somewhat deceptive..) and the software I used was the only one out of about a dozen I tried that would actually output the video properly without problems (and even that software only worked in one mode). This is a very old video, folks, and most software just can't handle it properly anymore.
Needless to say, this is as good as this video is probably ever going to get.
The audio was redone at 192khz prior to pitch shifting and semitone matched to the original flash audio for true authenticity (which I admittedly didn't do for the other versions of this video I uploaded).
I forgot how much of a pain in the ass this whole process is, and I don't ever want to do this again. You're on your own when 8K is the "new thing"... Just saying..
I remember when this first came out, over ten years ago, in fact, it was one of the first videos I watched on my first computer. Wow, the memories. I always cry when I watch this, but I am sure she got a home, I think I see little paw prints leaving the box.

I remember an interview with the original artisk from a long time ago. (sorry I do not remember where it was so I cannot prove the authencity of it (it was years ago)) However according to that inteview the idea was that Shii left the box and went out to find the boy that was for her finidng her dream instead of hoping it would come to her. Good going for little shii wish her (even if she is a cartoon) all the best.
i remember waiting 45 minutes for the original flash to load on albino blacksheep back in 2003. i miss those days. everything now is awful.

I named my Siamese cat Shii ("she") after the original clickable of this video, when she was a kitten, 18 years ago. I just played it and she came and sat next to me. ❤

Flash is already in a very tough place. Getting it to work to rip these required way more than I expected.
Granted, it was never "easy" on Linux, but I ultimately had to grab a browser that hasn't been updated in years to get these to work right.
It's only going to get harder as time goes on. Very sad in a way. I'm glad we're moving past flash, but every evolution leaves things behind.
I didn't want this video left behind, its an important piece of internet history.
@@soulnull Absolutely, I know that tech moves forward at a blistering pace. It just sucks so bad that our childhood is going to fad away. Coming from a broken home, these early videos kept me sane. OMG SHIIIIIIII!!!!! This randomly popped in my head the other day & now I've found it! First saw it as a teenager. So sweet! I'd have loved to have been able to play the game, 'Wind's Nocturn' too.
The game is called Lunar: The Silver Star Story and this is the song that plays when Alex and Luna sail off to the new continent, it's usually called Luna's Boat Song. It's available on iOS as Lunar: Silver Star Touch and on PSP as Silver Star Harmony. The sequel, Eternal Blue, is a great game also.

Long ago, I ripped the flash file and burned it to a CD on an old Windows XP laptop. Tonight I found that CD and watched this video after more than a decade. Instantly the music came back to me and I had to see if it was on here. Thank you so much for posting it.
