- Although it’s impossible to say exactly what would happen if all insects on Earth suddenly vanished, it’s likely that civilization - if not most ecosystems throughout the planet - would be in serious trouble. Without dung beetles and other poop-eaters, nitrogen-rich feces could build up, choking plant life and preventing anything from growing. Meanwhile, no dermestids and other insects that eat corpses would mean fewer custodians able to clean up dead bodies and recycle those nutrients back into the ecosystem.

Hey we don't talk about it that much but Malaria isn't good for the mosquitoes either the parasite actually hijacks the mosquito to constantly seek out and bite people even when there is no need. Technically the Mosquito is actually the primary host for the genus plasmodium where sexual reproduction occurs humans only serve as an intermediary asexual stage host for certain species of human specialist mosquitoes.

One time, a cicada flew into my shirt, and at first I thought my back was just itchy, so I scratched it not knowing I just crushed a cicada and when it kept itching I looked under my shirt in horror as I see a smeared cicada corpse on my shirt and back.

I don't mind if mosquitoes and flies are gone. You know what I mean if you live in Southeast Asia. (Same hot season all year round)

If all the flies disappeared you would quickly regret those words as they are a huge diverse order of insects that provide various ecological roles from pollination, decomposition, and probably the most overlooked one sanitation as many flies are bacteriotrophs i.e. organisms that specialize in eating bacterial biofilms. The problematic ones are the flies that go after living prey. Other flies go towards dirty places and actually help clean up what would otherwise fester into rotting biomass.
Also without flies wild yeast would go extinct since yeast is dependent on flies for transport meaning you can say good bye to most traditional (i.e. not commercially grown from maintained cultures) style alcohol, leavened bread, yogurt, cheese and other fermented foods.
Agree flies, fleas and mosquitoes I can live without they are a pain to kill and just make life harder for me and my animals lol

Just get rid of mosquitos, bed bugs, cockroaches, fruit flies, and ants.
I don't think you realize how important ants are to ecosystems in clean up of food waste, seed transport, and pest control among other things depending on the species.

A lot of human would also lose their major source of protein if all insects disappeared. Trees would also take forever to decompose with note termites and certain species of ants and beetles

I don’t think the food chain will care if bed bugs go extinct I don’t know a single thing their useful for even humans are more useful than them it’s just that we haven’t wiped them out yet

Bed bugs
Fleas
Mosquitos
I guess that's why other planets aren't as earth suitable to live on , ( just one of the reasons) insects make roots of basics for live, .

Crockroaches and mosquitos are the only should be the only disapear. If the animals eats them no more have them to eat, They are not the only resources, flies for example.
