    May not be as slick as one of those fancy Boss plows, but moves snow just the same(and for a lot LESS $$$$). I'm assuming that's an 8' blade...my late father had a 7' Fisher plow on his '77 Scottsdale 4x4. Couldn't wind-roll with it, but was easier in terms of road travel...didn't have to worry about catching a mailbox or vehicle in an on-coming lane.Did you have to upgrade the front springs to handle the added weight?

    I'm not sure what exactly rendering means when it comes to videos, but I did notice, in this video (as well as the one he deleted) what I call pixelation (probably not the right word) in some spots. Where Jeff scores his wiring harness there is a blue photo or poster behind him that is distorted (perhaps on purpose) and then again in the outside scenes when he is hooking up the plow (starts at around the 8:10 mark) and goes across the top portion of the clip. Maybe that was on purpose to to hide the identity of his helper, we all know how camera shy they can be. lol. Great video regardless, looking forward to more of em!

      He's got a diesel truck - but it don't run below 40 degrees. Would make a bad snowplow vehicle if it don't run in the snow :D

      I meant diesel pickup. My 7.3 idi is pretty simple to work on and has always started well in the cold. One in good shape with all 8 glow plugs functioning should start reasonably quickly in very cold weather. He could swap the 350 in the 69 GMC for a 6.2 turbo or 6.5 turbo and it would be extremely easy to work on, and give the same horsepower, better torque and much better mileage than the gasser. Plus he wouldn't have to be screwing around with carburetors and such, and could carry a heavier load on the trailer, and have an easier time overall with a load. Even still he would likely get high teens for mpg loaded, maybe low 20s unloaded, and have a bigger displacement engine to boot, plus the turbo would help keep rpm down and keep it from struggling with a heavy load. Like I said my 7.3 is 444 cubic inches and I get 16-18 unloaded in a big 4x4 f250 weighing 8000 pounds. Not too bad if you ask me. And those GM diesels are a direct bolt in to the mounts and trans bellhousings.

    Hey Jeff, there may be some sort of equatorial inversion going on.
    Down here in Oztralia the This Old Truck logo on You Tube seems to be upside down.
    Is it the right way up in the northern hemisphere ?
    Could the apparent inversion be an "undocumented feature" of the new Google + that has been forced onto the world of You Tube?

    I hope that's not brake fluid I hear trickling? While we're on the subject of brake fluid why do we use Brake fluid and not hydraulic or something similar in brakes?

      +Big Ian Builds Because the boiling point isn't high enough in a regular hydraulic fluid so you would have brake fade problems when the brakes get hot especially if you tow or carry heavy loads !

    still too fast a speed for that reamer. when i drilled frames in the truck shop we did 300 rpm and used warm grease. just a tip.
