    Hey Jack, great video, I remember you had a tweet not too long ago about the role of walking as an important form of recovery. I notice that the methods mentioned in the video are (slightly-moderately) more intense.
    Do you believe that walking still services as an important process in the recovery modality?

    • @combattherapist
      @combattherapist  Před rokem +1

      Definitely, anything that sits within low intensity loading parameters is good.
      Walking is a great recovery modality & I technically have mentioned it in the rucking example.
      If you have a decent level of conditioning, adding weighted walks can further expand your conditioning benefits from the active recovery strategy once a brisk walk becomes very very easy from an RPE standpoint.

    would you make a video for the best cardio for fighters? I feel like after running a lot of 5k or 10k, my knees start hurting

      Definietly, will likely be a skills conditioning video in future.

  • @elijahbauernberger550

    Hey great video, would appreciate it if you could cite some references for your research.

    • @combattherapist
      @combattherapist  Před rokem +2

      Thanks Elijah,
      1) Look into aerobic conditioning and it's effects on building work capacity.
      2) Look into the mechanism of therapeutic benefit for massage / foam rolling & massage guns.
      If you compare these 2 methods of performance enhancement, and look at the long term benefits of each, active recovery is going to trump.
      If this channel continues to gain traction, and I can spend more time dedicated to making these videos, I will definitely integrate more studies as part of the video experience, but for now all of the topics I discuss can be self researched if you want further evidence.
      Cheers.

    Read somewhere how its becoming common for MMA athletes to get worse once they get with a SC coach.
    Sometimes, the old school conventional methods are actually the way to go. We're straying far from that. Science doesnt have the answer to everything

    • @combattherapist
      @combattherapist  Před rokem +2

      Comes down to maximising as much time as possible actually becoming a more skilled fighter.
      The SC stuff should be allowing athlete's to express these skills more effectively, if its taking away from the sport, it's likely a poor plan.
