I swear I've watched this before and thought the same thing both times. I didn't say anything the first time because it's Uncle Gordon and he's literally a legend in my eyes. Just feels like he's teaching some bad health and safety habits in this vid:
    - Cuts raw chicken on a board on top of the board he preps ready to eat veg in (yes.. it's possible for meat juices to splash on the board below).
    - Wipes the raw chicken board with the kitchen towel at his waist (@2:36) (and also his hands many times while preparing raw meat) and then repeatedly uses that same towel to wipe the surface he preps the raw veg for consumption on
    - does not appear to use handwash/soap when washing hands after preparing raw meat (perhaps the handwash could have been hidden out of sight in the sink for presentational reasons but still giving a bad lesson).
Much of the food prepared for consumption will have been cross contaminated with potentially harmful bacteria.

    • @thejmeister
      @thejmeister Před 3 měsíci +2

It's actually worse than that. The bowl with the egg actually touches the surface where the raw chicken was sitting, and then goes onto the same board where Gordon later chops vegetables, then assembles the burgers, with buns sitting where raw chicken juices have touched. Worse still, Gordon wiped the surface with his towel, the same one he keeps wiping his hands on, so that bacteria is being transferred to everything he touches. I see this same bad practice in a lot of UK restaurants, and nobody seems to care, even though it's supposed to be illegal and should result in you losing hygiene stars and potentially being shut down. We have a very corrupt system when it comes to restaurants, because nursery kitchens, retirement home kitchens, they're policed properly and would not be able to get away with this.

Achievment unlocked!so basically its right hand dry left hand wet (eggs).

@@lolthien as someone who works with really rich people, that's the most overrated concept.
Lot's of successful people did things the right way instead of maxing out monetization strategies, because the long-term value is worth it.
For example, how many people churn out of his videos due to repeated fluff audio? Would he get more ad views total with a larger quantity of shorter form videos?
There's lots of ways this can go and result in a bag. Also most celebrities don't manage their own channels and unless they run endorsements, the channel is more of a promo vehicle or platform than a revenue stream. Just to give you a sense of scale.

Tip: Using a paper towel to drain excess oil allows for the chicken to sit in that excess oil becoming soggy and ruining the skin you just worked so hard for.
Try rather a wired rack for broiling or simply letting it rest in the oven. And allowing the excess oil to fall away while the crust is setting.
Also I know when we are in a hurry we often become careless but as an older man and a chef serving others it’s important to pay attention to detail as not to create food borne illnesses such as salmonella.
The rag he has was used to wipe over where raw chicken was sitting then he continues to use it throughout his set without changing it or washing his hands with soap and water completely and then follows up to dry his hands on the salmonella rag.
He should also have a separate preparations space for vegetables that aren’t being added with the raw meat just to ensure no cross contamination.

Haha funny I cooked the perfect Korean fried chicken wings two nights ago! Also used gochujang - the Korean chilli paste - (plus honey, ketchup, rice vinegar, garlic and finer for the spicy sauce).
These look really good the only question mark for my personal taste is the use of brioche bread for sandwiches - I find it far too sweet and a even bit sawdusty somehow. They work with cream and jam great but I can’t get my head around using them with savoury fillings.
Great content though - the tip for the cornflakes is very clever - and yes the Korean paste flavour is AMAZING. Wow

I recommend a cookie cooling rack for cooking your chicken after it’s removed from the pan. Paper towels are prone for creating a soggy or wet bottom side to the chicken breast. However, by using a cookie cooling rack you will maintain the crispy crust you’ll desire for your sliders. 😃
