3 year warranty give me peace of my mind that I will experience burn in after 3 years and 1 day
Giving me imagery of Spiderman holding back the train
"HOOOOOLDDDD ITTTT! Just ooone more daaay before the warranty expires!" & then he let's go and you get the burn in XD
And not a minute sooner.
Just move to Norway, you have direct to retailer RMA for 5 years from purchase on almost all electronics with a few exceptions like mechanical hard drives, speakers and fans (3 years)
@@Vinterloft Are you from Norway, I surfed Lofoten a few years back. Your country is epic.. sponsor me!
With your luck something will happen to it after 3 years and one hour
Oled monitors are moving fast! Still feels like 32" is to big and all these 27" options is so welcomed and with 1440p 360fps isn't a impossibility with most games.
Agreed. 32 is too big unless you place it at the very back of your desk or on the wall behind it. 1440 is unfortunately still not quite as crisp as I'd like it for a 27". For gaming, 1440p is the sweet spot, but for text editing, 27" 4K would be ideal.
*too
imagine the sims 3 on it :o, with the glossy pannel its almost like you can pick them up.
Where are the videos, Robert?
Robert more videos..... please!!!
This model is 9000 DKK (1300$) here in Denmark at the time of writing (at komplett dk) which is something else than 800$.
Unfortunately importing that shit to EU cost them shit load of money 😭
Found 1 store here in Italy that will start shipping them on 12 april at a price of €999 (~$1084).
Scalper shop.
Some shops make massive margins on 1st batches.
@@KhronycYou'd think so, but as Tim mentioned prices of WOLED 240Hz models are about equal in EUR=USD pricing, so that's not the case.
It's just that pricing is initially really inflated in EU but comes down quite fast.
@@broscutzacupar link?
The pricing is certainly very unattractive where I am at an equivalent of ~$1265. There's no explaining away an over 50% markup on taxes.
EU people complain a lot. In Brazil we get those at least one year delayed and they cost over 2x US price 😂
@@ricardonacif5426will these insane taxes on electronics ever go away in brazil?
Yea not great for a freaken 16:9 panel, may as well buy an Ultrawide at that point.
@@ricardonacif5426 no matter how harder you have it, europeans have all the rights to complain. Who am I to say "how dare those Brasilians complain when people from Uganda won't ever be able to buy these cool OLED monitors"?
@@MKR3238 prob not, they are taxing everything here in Brazil. I spent the last 8 months building my new pc with a 7900xtx bringing everything from the US when I had someone from my family going there. Saved about 2000$ - 3000$
The current pricing in Europe for this monitor is absurd. As much as I was looking forward to it, I will wait until it becomes more reasonably priced.
sux to suck with that VAT tax and all
It has always been the case, it's always such a shame to see resellers doing a 1:1 conversion from $ to €. (now it's more or less the same but it wasn't back in the days)
this channel quickly becones "monitors >1000€ unboxed".
@@c.chepre8452 I guess that's the nature of monitor prices within Europe, also didn't they do a $150 monitor like 4 videos ago along with a $280 monitor 5 videos ago?
@@c.chepre8452You get VA panels ridiculously cheap right now. You don't have to buy these. It's just the new big thing.
Looks great! I only wish the side bezels were thinner, for multi-monitor setups
Great review as always.
Please review the Koouri GN10 next, the price to performance is insane but want to know what real world testing would conclude.
Another great review. Thx
Thank you for those new mid APL and high APL scene measurements. Those really show that OLEDs still have to improve brightness. The ABL really annoys me on my C2 on basically any daylight/bright scene
Abl somehow isn’t a problem on my c3 it ain’t working and always on highest brightness after an firmware update(maybe it broke for me )
Yea I have a c2 42 and it does the same. I also have the aw3423dw right next to it and never notice abl on it.
ABL in OLED TV’s I’ve never really noticed. But on monitors, when opening a window, it’s way too noticeable 😩
I've never noticed ABL during movies, games or shows on my C2, only with white windows on PC. Pretty sure LG released an update a few months back to address this, it's supposed to be much more toned down now but again, I never noticed it.
Yeah it sux.. there are oleds out there that hold 400 nits sdr at 100% white windows (dell laptop) They are just too aggressive on these TV's and monitors.
I hope you do a more comparison video and purchase recommendations, I have no idea which one to get or to wait or anything..
Showing the steam store page consumes 33 watts on this 27 inch model and on the 32 inch asus qd oled it was 32 watts???
More than double the pixels and larger surface to display to and lower power usage on an otherwise almost identical panel. this sounds very weird.
Right so I do need to work on the monitor for 8 hours a day. Is there anything new coming out that is actually suitable for my use case or I should simply go with what launched in the last couple of years?
This looks so good! I’m doing my best trying to hold out for a 27” 4k 240hz oled but this is so tempting 😭
its not as easy for the lg or samsung to make a lot of diferent panel configurations, probable there will be no diferent resolutions for at least a year, i had a 28" 4k and it looks amazing but this time 1440p 26.5" is the choice.
@@arielvelascoa they are coming out with a 27inch 4k 240 hz oled with a rgb subpixel in 2025
@@pulluponme13 Probably, that far off cant really say. It took ages to get from 4k 55" oled tvs to something near monitors. The difficulty of raising PPI (more density, more heat)
Mine will be here on the 11th but the PX version since I didn't need the power delivery and saved 50 bucks.
will buy on black friday, no shop has it even listed in my country only just one for 1100
I would love it if you guys would take a look or mention the mag variant of this monitor, it's 50 bucks cheaper but uses the same panel, but loses a few ports I believe but the main concerning change is I've heard no firmware updates will be available, but if it's great out of the box it may be a good option for those wanting to save 50 bucks.
true that
After all these, monitors reviews back to back. You deserve to take a holiday.

Hi Tim, I got a question for you if you dont mind. Do you know, or would it be possible for you to confirm, whether the presence of DSC is the root cause of brief (2-3 seconds) black screens when alt-tabbing from full-screen games?
The reason for my suspicion is that I have the LG 27GN950 at 4K 144Hz plugged into my 3080 with a Paugge DP1.4 cable directly without any adapters, and ever since I switched to this monitor from a 144Hz 1440p monitor, I've been having brief black screens pretty much everytime I alt tab from any full screen game. When I switch from "DP 1.4 (DSC)" to "DP 1.4" in the OSD, the problem goes away completely as far as I can tell.
I'd love to investigate myself but I'd need a bigger sample size
This has been confirmed as an nvidia driver issue that they are working on. I believe Display Guy talked about it.
Why instead to use calman you publicize and help DisplayCAL reach a wider audience ?
And is possible to use TV screen for PC monitor ? I would like a fast refresh ISP TV but there is lacking review for lag and all problems this could generate, you would not like to integrate it in your discovery ? and have a review for different price points ? I would like it a lot, thanks
This is the new, in OLED space, balanced spec type of display in terms of res and Hz though, price too. Really pushes LCDs down further in terms of worth and price.
Msi has been making some great monitors, love my MAG274QRF-QD still
Same here but this and the new dell do look tempting
@@x-treme4661they’ve got me hook line and sinker, I’ve had my mag27qrf-qd for a while now but oled is just different
Liked and subscribed! Excellent review as always. Looking fw to Alienware 360hz as it is significantly cheaper in Europe
Yes for Australian buyers the Alienware AW2725DF is $1359 vs the MSI MPG 271QRX at $1799. So the Alienware would seem to be far better value for Australian buyers if the performance is there.
16:28 I'm surprised the Alienware is #3. That's the one I have, and I used to have it set to sRGB mode with gamma set to its 2.2 mode, but blacks became very grey and overbrightened. This does not happen in its 2.0 and 2.4 gamma modes, so it's pretty weird.
Needs to restock!
I’ve tried both the Asus WOLED 240 and Alienware QDOLED 360 and the Matte Coating is so grainy it ruins the image for me. Especially perceived contrast like muzzle flashes.
if it isnt mr process lasso himself :~)
wish WOLEDs had a bit better brightness : /
Alienware is glossy isn’t it?
When do these things come out? Been checking the website every day since announcment.
I have to say, usbc input for macbook without adapter and ability to change into portrait mode… is really tempting ! Can use it for gaming and work ! Any other alternatives similar to this ? (Oled , portrait , gaming , usbc input 1440 or 4k, 27-32”)
Could you do a review of the KOORUI GN10 27"? It's has the same specs as the AOC Q27G3XMN but it's at 240hz.
Great Review. Nice to see my current M27QX in on the stats. I would like to see some kind of 1440p Oled Round-up this year at some point with the 27-inch size and 34-inch size. I just can't buy a 4k and watch my FPS get cut in half. Maybe Next Gen.
20:42 Does this apply to all MSI monitors? I have the ultrawide one.
nice, now to find a 240Hz version of this and using real-time pixel refresh, has that even been implemented to gaming displays yet?
Does input lag get worse with HDR on like older monitors or is it negligible now?
Is this the first 360 Hz OLED of *any* kind? In any case, very curious how it compares to the PG2789AQN!
OLED kinda cooking right now, on price and tech improvements
It’s gonna be the future once it’s sorted. Can’t wait to see it evolve
On price, for Americans. Not so much for everyone else.
@@302QuestSwap Nah, OLED will be long gone because of burning-bullshit "feature". Just like 3D TV's. But LG and Samsung will grab Your cash and spit on Your face once there will be "new technology". Just wait like...10 years xD

Anyone know how this stacks up against the alien ware counter part? I heard it gives eye strain but not sure if this is pretty much the same thing
Whew. This one might be the one to convince me to buy an OLED. I'm concerned about burn-in, for sure, but that 3-year warranty makes me want to try.
I have an lcd for productivity. My burn in concern would be from huds in games. Is this a valid concern to have these days?
The monitor is currently out of stock should I wait for it or go for something else want 1440p 240hz flat panel
At this rate we will actually have a kHz OLED monitor in a couple of years. So if you invest in LN2 today, you may be able to play counter strike with your Ryzen 7 14800X6D at 9GHz to get those sweet 1000fps.
The OLED pixels themselves can definitely switch that fast. The refresh rates we get are largely determined by the scaler's capabilities and cable bandwidth. We just need someone to make a scaler capable of handling 1080p 1000hz (or 1440p 1000hz with DP 2.1), and maybe LG or Samsung will make an OLED panel of that spec.
Don't waste your money, a Ryzen 5 14600X6D is all you need
um sweatie, fake frame generation tech is there exactly because more than 200 discrete frames or 5ms steps in time if you will, provide no visual feedback that could not be effectively interpolated
so thank's fake frame generation's of the FYUTURE ! now my CPU's powersavings kick in and pwn my videogame's even better i love it
More like an aircooler. I think you got Intel and AMD mixed.
3kliksphilip already got ~3k fps in cs didn't he?
Hey, first of all awesome review i bought the monitor because of it.
I have a question regarding Rtings review.
They measured a high input lag at 120Hz and 60Hz especially with VRR on.
Some people say as long as you have set the monitor to 360Hz you will have the lowest input lag even with VRR working at lower refresh rates (Elden Ring is capped at 60fps for example). So I was wondering if the input lag is really higher in such a case.
I also read about Quick Frame Transport which should reduce input lag.
Would really appreciate it if you could shed some light on this.
High input lag will happen if you set the monitor to 60Hz in Windows but if you're keeping the monitor at 360Hz but playing at 60 FPS with VRR the input lag should be a lot lower and the best way to play
@@monitorsunboxed Thank you for clarifying this! Appreciate it.

Are the input lag issues at 60hz and 120hz amended from the firmware update? I've ordered for this my PC but would like to know how it will perform if I opt to use it on the switch as welll
I have read that part of the motion blur from sample-and-hold comes from the way the human eye tries to track motion. Yet, it seems that a camera can capture the difference with backlight strobing very well (12:00). Why is that, can someone explain?
Can you please make a video as if you needed to buy a new monitor this year and wanted the best possible gaming and daily web browsing usage possible in a 32"+ 4k no budget.

I wonder how much of the OLED burn in and hdr explanations Tim has memorized after all of these reviews haha
Right. I’d say burn in & productivity work like he constantly repeats himself about it and crazy cause ppl still want to use this for productivity work and he keeps saying not to!
I pre-ordered this at the MSI store in Europe for 1000 euro. It comes with a 100 euro steam voucher which is essentially 100 euro off if you're a gamer, which most buyers of this monitor are.
Where?
From what I understood, the same was true with Best Buy in the USA, unless I'm confusing it with the 4K 240Hz OLED...

How is the eye strain problem on this monitor?
I've heard the similar 27" Alienware model has severe eye strain issues.
Personally mine is fine but I think that could be very dependent on the person. I had an adjustment period but now it’s normal and no issues
Why is it causing eye strain?

I've been dreaming of a 27 inch 4k video display. The HDR OLED aspects of this would be perfect but not the resolution. Not enough density.
27 has too much density, 32 should be the sweet spot, or at least it would be with normal RGB pixel layouts. Speaking from experience as I used both a 27 1440p and a 27 4K LCD.
When it comes to these weird OLED pixel layouts, 27 may just be the optimum density, but still 32 shouldnt be bad at all

The only thing holding me back from buying into this round of OLED monitors is the possibility that next year we'll see another big leap!
This monitor is 9.000 DKK (1.300 USD, 1.200 EUR) in Denmark. While I did want this monitor, it's just too expensive here. The Asus PG27AQDM, while not being as good, is on sale here for 6.500 DKK (950 USD, 875 EUR), making it a significantly better deal right now.
It’s not a better deal, it’s just cheaper. This has a 50% higher refresh for less than a 50% increase of an older monitor on sale.
@@rekareaperYou're correct it has a "50% higher refresh rate" but I think you're misrepresenting that as that 50% higher refresh rate is going to give me a 50% better experience in relation to the price. For many people, including myself, 240hz is plenty since I don't play any competetive games and shooters, etc.
There is a diminshing rate of returns as far as refresh rates go. 60 to 144 is massive, and I'm sure 144 to 240 is also a big, albeit smaller increase.
I'm currently using an old office 1080p 60hz monitor, so it's a big upgrade for me either way.
It would be interesting to see these 2 monitors compared side by side from different people, and it would surely help in putting some light on whether or not the price increase is worth it for some people.
@@TheWoWBane I mean, I wouldn’t even be looking at monitors like this without a 4080/S, XTX or 4090.
Coming from a 1080p60, I would just move to a 1440p120/144/165/170/180Hz monitor, something along those lines. I wouldn’t even recommend something like this unless you actually had the hardware to push it.
@@rekareaperYou may have a point, and if you've got the budget for a 4080S or 4090, you surely would have the money for the more expensive monitor as well. I'm upgrading to a 7900GRE (Let's not argue about which graphics card is best to get right now, I'm upgrading from a 960M with 2gb VRAM and anything is "good enough" in this case).
@@TheWoWBane I had the XTX in there as well. Lol. Basically anything on the market currently is going to be a massive improvement for you. I’m not going to tell you not to get a 240Hz OLED monitor, just that at that point I feel your budget could be better spent elsewhere.
Amazon in the uk are doing the AOC argon 240hz model for £599 as i speak.
Honestly I only see $200 price difference for 120hz more so I’d mind as well get the 360hz
Dude has me seriously reconsidering my choice to purchase the new LG GS95 WOLED. Hurry up and post the review before I can’t return it 😂
Cani use this with a 4080 Super?
