This is a vintage fishing reel from the French brand Servofrein.
It comes from the 30/40's.
I would appreciate if someone could tell me if it's a fly fishing reel or just a classical casting.

I agree, delhog and condar. Not to mention the number of pets and other wildlife that are killed by lost fishing line, hooks, and nets each year. :( This fishing reel was beautifully done, though ... it looked a lot heavier than the reels today. Nice job! - Muddypaw 🐾

The circle effect is amazing
Awesome! I hawe a few fishing things after my grandfather, i love the feeling and quality of those old Reels. (I always throw back rare or endangered specimens, but i rarely kill any fish at all, i just love mother nature and the serenty deep in the forest).

That's a fly reel, and it looks like a work of art now. Well done! I was particularly glad to see you restore that engine-turned finish. It takes forever to do, but it looks so nice.

Stunning restoration - truly awesome! Loved the Shark ‘CGI’ at the end and that whole sequence.
As always, the care and time you put into each video really stands out. That reel looked fantastic! Cannot imagine it looked that good from the factory.

Nice work. I like the jeweling idea, but think it would have looked way nicer if you polished it really shiny first. I can see the sandblasting scars through the jeweling. Other than that I love it. ❤
Actually I did polished it a bit but result wasn’t as expected 😕

I like everything but the jewelling on the sides, a polished finish would be more in keeping with the original look.
