CONCORDIA GRAD GOT OUT OF AFGHANISTAN JUST IN TIME
A Thief River Falls native is well known for crisscrossing the world as a concert pianist and CZcams global traveler. However, his last stop recently was Afghanistan, where he was briefly detained.

FARGO - Since he graduated from Concordia just two years ago, 24-year-old Brayden Drevlow has been busy. The concert pianist travels the world. He has been to places like Africa, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and many more. He has been documenting the travels through the 100 countries he's been in recently on his CZcams page ( / braydendrevlow )
He is currently home after getting out of Afghanistan, maybe just in time.
"I have been talking with friends there, and they said it is just absolute chaos there," Drevlow said.
Like so many, he watched as the Taliban moved quickly across Afghanistan.
"Everyone is in an apocalyptic, end-of-the-world scenario," Drevlow said. "The entire country is collapsing; the banking system is collapsing."
The friends he met there are afraid of what's ahead, especially for young girls.
"They (girls) enjoyed the freedoms. Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and CZcams," Drevlow said. "They are active, they like going out to get tea and smoothies and going to the clubs. But they know it is now a cliff and it won't happen anymore."
Despite the dangers there, Drevlow said he wants to go back.
"I feel bad for the people who are there, and meeting them helps you empathize with their struggle," he said.
