- The Taliban on Wednesday displayed Soviet-era Scud ballistic missiles at a military parade in Kabul held to mark one year since the departure of American forces from Afghanistan. The parade was held at the Bagram Air Base and was attended by top Taliban ministers. Apart from missiles, Taliban also flaunted choppers, tanks and other U.S weaponry. Watch the video for more.

The Taliban had already infaltrated the Afghan army and were really the only option to hand the country to. The Afghan government were advised to peacefully step aside to ensure there wasn't huge number of casualties if fighting had broke out. Other terrorist groups were trying to cause unrest and panic sending in suicide bombers as a distraction so they could mount an attack. The Taliban were told to come in peacefully secure the city while to us army packed up and left. The Afghan army were told to down tools to keep the peace and the money and equipment was left as part of the deal. This is obvious and make sense that's how it went down. It gives them more than enough capability to defend their homeland against foreign intruders.
