Very informative - overall a great video / tutorial. Honestly, I had no idea how to create a fleet with yourself for an abyssal as I've never had to form a fleet. I was running them in a cruiser but had to downgrade due to unforeseen circumstances. Bravo - you're the first creator that actually showed how to create a fleet. Others mentioned it like it was general info but I had no idea.

I have to pause my enjoyment of running "Abysmal Missions" to thank you for your excellent video. I appreciate that you took the time to prepare an organized, concise presentation which you delivered prior to running the site. (So many videos just show the gameplay without preparation, fumbling for words and rambling, and you have to go through a lot of fluff to find the nuggets.) I am an experienced player recently returned to Eve, but I was intimidated by the prospect of losing ship, clone and implants! Your video gave me the confidence to try and now I'm earning isk at a faster rate than level 4 missions!

What an excellent guide to starting Abyssals!
Built my Coercer, bought 10 filaments, made a safe(ish) spot, and dived in. Thanks to your video I had no trouble clearing the pockets, collecting the loot and taking the next gate. When I had finished, activated the next pair of filaments and dived in again.
After about an hour or so, I had completed 7 trips - I kept on picking up more filaments as loot - I got back to the station with just under 10 million ISK - more than enough to cover the cost of the ship and filaments. By the end I was doing 3 pockets in 10 minutes so never got close to the time limit. So a new fun activity to play with - thanks to you!

I remember when Abyssal Deadspace was integrated into the game and for a while it was all the rage, but I was never interested - I prefer doing trading, hauling, exploration, mining, Project Discovery, and some low-stakes high-sec ratting. Finally, years later, this video was the jolt I needed to start researching, understanding, and hopefully later actually running Abyssal Deadspace.
I follow a few of the more well-known EvE creators and this video is pure quality - comparable to greats like Delonewolf, EvEnton, and Jurius Doctor! I've just checked out the rest of your channel and it sadly seems you've stopped posting EvE content ~10 months ago. Still, there are 4 other EvE videos you've made - all regarding Abyssal Deadspace - and I intend to watch them all.
    All the best from Romania.

Yes, I made these videos because there was a distinct lack of quality T0 content from other creators. At the time, nearly all the videos were wrong! I lost so many ships that I decided to post my own videos, but other EVE players are much more knowledgeable about everything aside from T0 Abyss. So I stuck to what I know, but tried to make it as valuable as possible. I'm glad to hear that it shows :)

    • @expherus
      @expherus  Před 2 lety +1

Thanks for watching! You're right in the grand scheme of things, since many players will be able to clear the Abyss numerous times safely with any T1 ship.
I did not recommend such a build because that would guarantee about 1 in 40 new players that try that build would run into the Skybreaker in the first run and die before earning any money, and I would hate for that to happen to a new player.
This build sports a 100% survival rate right out of the box with as little SP and ISK as possible. I agree, it could be considered overkill, but I'd rather new players be overprepared than feel cheated and confused.

Frigates require more skill training to reach the damage threshold. This ship works in the meantime while you train your skills for more lucrative options. It totally depends on your damage spread, but for Hybrid Turrets (which deal more than half Kinetic damage), 110 dps or higher will do the trick.

I appreciate your question, Austin! Like with most things EVE, it depends on your skills. In this case your combat skills. I did a fair portion of testing with the Merlin in T0 Electrical when I was making this video and it seemed to clear just fine until I ran into the Skybreaker for the first time. I think 90 dps was barely not enough to clear it, so I recommend 100 dps at least. But clear time wise I almost guarantee Destroyers will be faster, safer and more ISK/hr.

Sorry to hear that. Devoted Hunter is a sniper just like us. Indeed, he hits really hard and has very good range. Luckily he moves rather slowly and he will venture within 9km on his own so we just need to make sure we're not running away from him since his range is a lot longer than ours. If you meet the Devoted Hunter again I recommend keeping distance or orbiting at somewhere between 6-8km instead of going straight for the cache so that you can deal sufficient damage with your Multifrequency instead of Standard.

If you'd like to give Abyssal Deadspace a shot and have gotten used to flying the ship, then I say go for it.
If you don't have anything valuable, gankers will likely not attack you, as they're looking to blow up ships that are worth much more than their ship. You should be very careful once you're carrying 100M or more on board.
That said, if the ganker wants to kill you just to see you blow up, then no. If the ganker is experienced you will need a seriously strong ship to survive a well-planned gank and this one doesn't even come close.

Looks kind of like an infinity sign. If you click that, it will group/ungroup your weapons. Frigates, Destroyers, and Cruisers can all run all Tiers and Types of the Abyss. Frigates can run them with up to 3 ships in a fleet (and uses 3 filaments per run) whereas Destroyers can be in a fleet of up to 2 (and use 2 filaments), and Cruisers can only go solo.
