With 199 Mio Skillpoint I dont worry to much. and with a 14 years of Playing experience since 2010. 7 years with Goonswarm. 2 Hellwars and 7 big and Smaller Wars I think I m quiet good. I built Drones Dreadnoughts and Carriers for the Imperium. Im not a PVP player to much Im a Billionär and a Miner and Finacial Fanatic.
I like the Zinith the Traglivian Dreadnough more. A pitty that you can built the World Ark Ship in Blueprint 500m shorter then Snoke's Flaggship. I would love to built a few of those for Goonswarm. Then Wars would be not necessary anymore.
I know it's not a combat ship but the Orca's ability to make you nomadic is one of the reasons it's my favorite. Had the same one for about 13 years. Lived in High, Null, and WH space. Prop mode, cloak, and a couple scouts you can go almost anywhere.
I love the Orca for just that reason. It's my incursion RV. A home on wheels, so to speak. 😊PERFECT 🥰 in highsec anyway. In low and nullsec the Thanatos plays that role plus...😉

Hurricane will always have the top spot in my heart. Fell in love at first sight and been smitten ever since.
The Algos might be my favorite looking ship. It's like a mix between a Lancaster and B-24 Liberator bomber. The pontoons doubling as drone bays is appealing.
I have to raise an honorable mention to the corax, with it's ww2 submarine design
i prefer the look of the algos but after playing with both, the dragoon is the superior drone dessy.

The command version of the Algos (Magus) is a wondrous ship, and fairly affordable.

bonus info: Punisher was actually the best pvp frig in alpha/beta back in.. 2003 or smth. Cant recall the year, its been so long, it was fitted with guns for better cap/tank ;)
I used to play EVE quite a bit and have trained new players for PVE and one ship that was very popular was the Moa with a passive shield tank fitting. It's a relatively affordable cruiser and a passive tank lets you concentrate on positioning and guns without worrying about cap.
It's not the fastest killer, but you can tank level 3 or 4 missions while you pick away at enemies. Once you've spent a few days training shield skills, it can tank battleship damage while slowly picking away at them with it's tiny weapons.
You need to screw up pretty bad to lose one of those ships.

It is an amazing game, but can be extremely tedious at times. They do not call it Excel in space for nothing! But, if you get in good with an active guild that can help you learn the ropes it can definitely be a game that sucks you in!!

Depends, did you do a ton of trading, or mining in EVE? Because I had spreadsheets for both. Hell I even had one to track my training schedule on my PVE account. @@this.is.a.username
Personally I've always adored the design of the Gallente Catalyst. I've always been a big fan of asymmetric designs for ships in Sci Fi. The Catalyst often reminds of a supersized B-Wing from Star Wars with its S-Foils down.
Then you would have adored the old caldari ship Design those has been very asymetric
I like the catalyst look as well. And no list of popular ships is complete without it. Unfortunately, a large part of that is because of its cheap ganking power. Funny enough, I've never shot anything with one; only used it for salvaging.

The catalyst makes a super efficient salvager, 4 salvagers and 3 tractor beams make short work of combat sites combined with an MTU.
Cormorant also makes a good early game salvager for same reasons.
Pretty much all the T1 destroyers do, too. Though, I prefer the Talwar purely for visual reasons despite it having less capacity (400 m^3 vs. 450 m^3) and less velocity (255 m/sec vs. 265 m/sec) compared to the Catalyst. The only advantage I can think of is its three mid slots over the Catalyst's two, at the cost of a high slot. It allows it to carry a MWD and two Small Cap Battery II, allowing it to remain run for longer with more the same amount of tractors compared to the Catalyst.
I use the "zoom" technique tho, cuz tractor beams feel too slow to me. So I have six Salvager IIs and one Small Tractor Beam II in the highs, a 5MN Microwarpdrive II and two Small Cap Battery IIs in the mids, three Expanded Cargohold IIs in the lows, and three Small Salvage Tackle IIs in the rigs. It gives it a 835.2 m/sec speed with 829.1 m^3 cargo capacity, with the Salvagers having a 80% base salvage chance. The cargo capacity has been handy in collecting both all of the salvage *and* loot across a finished mission, especially on larger wrecks.
T3 cruisers are my daily. Especially Tengu and Loki. If I could go back and redo it, I’d race straight for a T3 cruiser. Cloaky, fast, and 900 DPS unheated.
Orca is a fantastic ship and I have had mine for about the same. I love how you can use it as a garage for the Hulks/Mackies for your scouts and then swap when you get where you are going. When they added compression I love how you can play with different fits instead of just making it as large and slow as possible! Excited to see how these new Upwell ships change things.
Osprey Navy Issue is a cruiser that can deploy 5 light drones. Also when I started using it to run the lower abyssals it cut my ammo costs in half due to the missile damage bonuses it gets.
find it weird you didn't mention any E-war ships at all. something like the curse are one of the most feared ships in the game, and can turn even the most expensive battleships into useless space junk without breaking a sweat, so for cruiser fights the ships I by far the most use are the curses and pilgrims. if you watch the alliance tournaments e war ships are always being used, and in general its the team that uses them the best that wins the fight i also really enjoy the t3 cruisers you didn't mention in the vid lol, meaning the legion and the proteus. the proteus are somewhat underestimated by many people, but it can push 1100 dps and 70k ehp tank with blasters. another ship that's extremely popular, especially in null sec that you didn't mention are the exequror navy issue that are fairly cheap, easy to get into, and can push 8-900 DPS with somewhat all-right tank for a t1 cruiser.
the ship i have most pvp kills with tho are the pacifier, and theres no better ships out there to kill explorers. i have a fit that gives it 350-400 dps, and it tears an Astero apart in 2-3 volleys, but the price of the ship and fit i use are roughly 360-400 mill so aint exactly cheap

The Gallente ships are so beautiful. If I ever got back into Eve and into it in a big huge way I’d want to eventually get a Gallente Carrier. Of course every other time I’ve played only ever got up to the Myrmidon

Maybe I'm misreading but it almost sounds like you had a different toon each time you played. If that is so why not just build off one you started. Much shorter training to that carrier.
Sane thing for me... always wanted a Nyx... i quit in like 2015 and transfered my main character to corp leader. Twas a blops pilot. Then came back in 2020 and extracted 15mill Sp from my alt and made a new character.
Life gotnin the way so i only was kn for a month. Now i am back and i am nearing mastery 4 with the Hel and Nid... I have not got one yet but my new corp said when i am ready they will start production.
Only thing that saddens me js carriers are in a bad spot and dreds and battleships are meta. But i mean... i want to achieve my carrier goals. Currently sitting with a measly 25mill sp hyper focused skill plan. Ill start with carriers once i hit 32million SP and achieve my goals.@WithmeVerissimusWhostoned
The Republic Fleet Firetail was such fun to fly against a(ny) enemy 😊 and nothing like hero tanking a gallente BC for battle !
I ran an Ishtar forever back in the day. It was the first ship I "raced" to when building my character up.
I love the Drake hull if anything looks like a drake I love it including alligator, nighthawk, Drake Navy.
The Volvo of BCs. They're all substance, and to heck with style.

I have flown the Ishtar, Gila, Myrmidon for ratting in Nulsec... Ishtar so far has been the best. to be able to fly 5 heavy drones.
While the Gila is faster... it is way more expensive to lose if you get surprised with a roaming Dreadnaught.
If you want to turn some engagement for EvE, exploring the factions, lore and methodology of ship use/fitting would be a good idea. There are a lot of people who might be interested in EvE but aren't players that could benefit from knowing a but more about the underlying story of the game.
Used to run with a corp that specialized in running deep raids. We ran dual prop Ishtars with sentry drones. Absolutely devastating at that time, really fun but required some skill to apply. Oh, and for my money the Sabre is the best interdictor; speed, damage, and survivabity. Speed is life.

Great video! I am thinking about starting to play Eve and it looks like a ton of fun! Pro tip: for voice overs, I use a dog trainer clicker to mark my retakes. Shows a very distinct spike on your audio track to make it easy to find your good takes!
The ships I see the most is propably Isthar, Sabre/Flycatcher, Gila, Loki/Tengu, Caracal, Rattlesnake, Paladin/Vargur, Kiki

Well just comes to show that Eve are very diverse game. In my part of NullSec the most commons ships are Retributions, Stilettos, Sabres/Flycatchers, Vexors/Ishtars, Bombers and T3 Cruisers
I roll to cast Drakes.
I've always liked the Hurricane, it can be fitted to be faster than some frigates and has the battlecruiser damage potential. I would take it into WH space with a fleet of frigates, take it in to rush larger ships especially battleships so that I can speed tank them and allow the frigates DPS for me.
As someone who is really into industrial side of EVE I almost exlusively fly a Noctis because salvaging is my favorite activity, if I need to move stuff though there's always my trusty Providence, reason why I like it over other hauling ships is that it deadass looks like enlarged GR-75
You kinda touched on ganking but in large PVP ships were left out. Tengu and Loki of course but this was basically a PVE best in class list. Go to zkill and look up statics on loss mails ect. I would say alot of frigs are popular in LS pvp. Dictors in NS and WH but my most flow ship in WH space is a Roller and the best Roller of them all is a megathrone only for its speed back to hole. Anyway good video nice edits and clean speech keep it up.

Regarding the Drake, the T2 variant; Nighthawk and still brand-spanking-new Gurrista variant; the Alligator are really really nice. I own one of each and they can be used as anti-triglavian platforms, ratting ships and precision DPS ships.
Also a note: how about custom renders/ 3-d models of EVE ships on your Patreon? I prefer those to Star Trek designs.

well my fave ship is the enforcer.. because.. it can do about anything really. fit it with the weapons and tank you like.. it can do abyssal mission running, pvp no real big downsides.. but its a tad pricey too.

I love my Tristan as well as the Algos, Vexor, Navy Vexor on this new alt...Started out in 2006 as a droneboat capt'n and still love em.
I had to come back and respond to "the Caldari strategic cruiser used to be number 1 pvp ship" ish. I strongly disagree with that. It was the Proteus, both as THE solo pvp ship AND as a member of smaller, roaming gang ship setup with scram with range and blasters, dealing just a skoash less DPS than an Astarte but with a tank of 4 or 5 and much quicker and agile. The Tengu offered me any reason to fear it in that its tank was in the mid slots were, back then at least is where MWD, web scram, injector belong. Could NOT kill for that reason :P 😜

Biggest shortcoming of the stratios is the incapacity to fit an interdiction nullifier, which puts it at great risk of getting tackled in a nullsec gatecamp to people in interceptors that know the delicate art of decloaking them while they're stuck in a bubble. Asteros, being that they als cannot nullify, are also at great risk of getting decloaked and scrammed while trying to get out of a bubble.

I like dominix, it may not be the best ship in its category, but it was what boosted my account in the beginning (10 years ago), and every time I play again it's because of the memory of those good days.

I'll have to correct you on the covert cyno, the only ships that can jump directly to it are Black Ops Battleships, but they can bridge other Covert Ops ships to it. IIrc a Black Ops Battleship can bridge up to 30 Stealth Bombers which while fragile can pump out ridiculous amounts of damage.
Black Ops Battleships being the smallest ships that have a proper jump drive.

Fun fact about the Catalyst, it isn't a "flying wing". It's the same general hull as the Myrmidon. They just turned it on its side to make it visually different.
Yes, the Eve devs have been massive hacks about their models lol. If you don't believe me, here's some trivia questions. Which ship model is a repurposed hair dryer model? Which is a repurposed submarine model? And which entire class is based on a vacuum cleaner model?
For bonus points, what ships are actually space ship models - that have been reversed and had their cockpits stuck on their rear ends? lol.

Yeah, drone boats are very popular so in a video about the most popular ships they naturally get mentioned a lot.
This list is biased towards Gallente, drones and ships that require Gallente skills (Guristas). If you make such a list from perspective of someone who started with one of the other empires, you'd see a different list. Nothing wrong with that, but you may not see the bias. Your points on the strength of these ships are on point. Some things to add. Gila is one of the most versatile ships for running abyssals. Ishtars litter nullsec, used for 'ratting' activities, often with low/no attention required fits. The new navy cruisers are very useful. Almost every one has a niche role where it excels. Vexor Navy Issue is up there with Stratios when it comes to running sites. My bias is towards Guristas, SOE, Caldari, Gallente as well. Though I have trained for all four empires, I still come back to my drone or drone/missile based ships.

Lets say one tengu lights up a covert cyno. By itself, another tengu in fleet cant just jump on it. To do so you need a specific clacc of ships - black ops and its jump portal generator, btw Widow (example of BO) can jump on lighted cyno from get go. Just dont mess the buttons and jump alone on a Widow)))

Yes also the cyno ships are too vulnerable blops groups use either covops frigs or bombers to light cynos now. No one want to suicide a 1b fitted ship to just light a cyno

Flew the Vexor, Ghila, and Astero back when I played. Loved the game,. but dont have the time to sink into EVE anymore.
You dissing the drake, punk? They're a little low on DPS (especially if you don't use kinetic), but they're tanky as hell and can make decent use of passive shield regeneration. Drakes will take a licking and keep on ticking. The Navy Drake, with better damage, no damage lock, and beefier drones, is capable of delivering (and taking) a pounding. Unlike the Heavy Assault Cruisers (which cost about the same ISK), if someone or something glues you in place with webifiers, a Navy Drake really doesn't lose much in the way of survivability.
That said, I've become fond of the Amarr boats recently, and spend a lot of time in Ammatar space hunting Sansha's Nation escalations. Armor boats really work better against lasers

used to fly one purposefully made for hisec low tier anomalies. High dps, insane tracking and overall speed. Nobody would be faster clearing these sites, hunting for escalations
