Kenny Lofton was a teammate of Steve's in college, We talked baseball and both got scorecards and kept book. He was funny and really gracious with my son who was 8. I asked him to sign my scorecard as he was getting ready to leave in the 7th inning. Which he did. We said our goodbyes and after he left my son asked, "Dad, who was that guy? I said, "You'll find out. Just hang onto that scorecard. That's Steve Kerr. He's like Mark Price." My son still has that scorecard. lol

      Steve Kerr was an incredible shooter, one of the greats.
      But, I feel like people are forgetting the NBA shortened the three-point line back in the 1990s. When the NBA shortened the three-point line from 1994-1995 to 1996-1997, everybody's 3 PTS efficiency went to the roof...
      In those three NBA seasons, Kerr made 321 shots of his 644 attempts : an efficiency of 49.8%.
      On regular three point attempts, Kerr managed to convert 405 of his 955 shots; which means he was shooting 42.4% from downtown!
      Still incredible. But, Curry on regular threes is sitting at 42.7% while taking unbelievably difficult shots.

    • @plassky
      @plassky Před 2 měsíci

      you practice under the parameters you're given, so i imagine Kerr would have a higher efficiency from the deeper 3 point line if it was as significant during his career. I would also consider that you could block in the paint and still contest the 3 easier if the line was shorter as a defender... so defense was more simplified too... just some thoughts, curry is obviously amazing@@david.tousignant20

    Out of Topic, Steve looked so old back in the 1990s, but he hadn't changed one bit. Now he looks young AF🤣

    Steve Kerr!! Great movie about a NBA great! I wouldn't call him an unsung hero, I mean, everyone has seen Golden State play by now, and he surely gets a lot of credit, but maybe he doesn't get enough credit(?)...Great player, and an even greater coach, son, and excellent father, just like his own father. I'm sure people are gonna be blown away by this documentary like I was.

    Very clever in game. Humble, hard worker, and I think playing along with MJ helped him improve and acquire much self confidence in his own skills, leading him to big shots as vs Jazz as mentioned in this video. I have always loved him, just as I loved BJ Armstrong or J Paxon : excellent shooters, devoted to the team and hard work, shadow actors of great stories. I have never doubt his talent as a player, but his amazing success as a coach surprised me. It proofs once more how clever and smart he is about the game.

    I watched a lot of 90’s bulls games as Jordan was my idol. I can remember Kerr being a huge part of the championship’s. he was so clutch and a great 3rd option when Jordan and scottie Pippen were covered!! If the bulls never had Kerr I don’t know if they have the same amount of rings!!!

    8:42... other than saying that the 6'3" Kerr is five inches shorter than the 6'6" MJ, this was an awesome video!

    Key piece in the Bulls Dynasty, one of the greatest coaches in NBA history. Hes won 9 championships. 72 win season as a player, 73 win season as a coach. It really shouldn't be a debate

    Steve K. as a player was the epitome of a specialist. He was a deep 3 point pure shooting threat that was called upon as needed and he delivered the goods.

    Remember him at UA when I was a much younger man- when he made a shot the place would erupt- "STEEEEEEEVE KERRRRRRRR!!!"- miss those days
