Not sure who made this list but you can't have a Chicago greatest high school list without Mark Aguirre on it. Just Saying!
Doc Rivers ?ok not Chicago (proviso east) but Isiah Thomas played in Westchester
I agree. A lot of cats missing from this list . Mark Aguirre is one of them . Ben Wilson is another .
Younger guy made it. Aguirre was a heavyweight.
@@mikebudzinski3879 Played in Westchester but a True Westsider who was recruited to the suburbs...
Terry Cummings as well.
In the 1970s, Chicago produced a string of legendary point guards. Maurice Cheeks, Ricky Green, Isiah Thomas, Kevin Porter, Doc Rivers, Tim Hardaway, and Ronnie Lester were all absolutely tremendous players. This was before social media, shoe companies, and AAU travel ball, and so not a lot of people saw players like Cheeks and Hardaway play. You would read about them in the papers.
No way what about Tim hardaway Terry Cummings, Hershey Hawkins and we all know Ben was the best
They can miss me with this! Ben Wilson #1 The first player out of Illinois to be ranked number 1 in the nation!
Nelison “Nick” Anderson averaged around 25 points a game as a freshman and sophomore at Prosser before he transferred to Simeon. He was so strong, athletic and skilled. He was a player unlike anyone I saw before him, and he would fit into today’s NBA game like a glove.
Forget Benji Wilson, Nick Anderson, Jamie Brandon.
How can you forget cassie Russell, hersey Hawkins, teddy grubbs, walt downing, Ben Wilson, Tim bankston, Sam mccullum, and its Chicago, not chicagoland....this list is busted
DWade?!?!?
My List:
Ben Wilson
Isiah Thomas
Mark Aguirre
Cazzie Russell
Jamie Brandon
Jabari Parker
Derrick Rose
Tim Hardaway
Nick Anderson
Marcus Liberty
Don't @ me
NO MARK AGUIRRE,NO RICKY GREEN WHO PLAYED IN THE NBA FOR 16 YEARS,NO TIM HARDAWAY,NO TERRY CUMMINGS,NO CAZZIE RUSSELL.
Lookout for part 2 got to find footage on those guys
What about M. Cheeks, Dusable Panthers and starting guard for 76'ers only NBA championship with Julius Erving, and Ronnie Lester Dunbar Mightymen #1 draft pick coming out of Iowa and played for the Bulls also..
The 67 Sixers won a championship...do your research before babbling
Mark Aguirre is a really, really bad omission. He could have been first on this list. Benji Wilson is another.
Good list but missing many much better players. Especially Mark Aguirre. He is #1 without pause.
Marcus Liberty was my favorite HS player growing up! I saw him at dining at a restaurant about 15 years ago and I still got star-struck.
awesome video!
I was feeling the list until #1
He won 4 state titles
Where is benji??
Benji Wilson should be on here
How can you not have Big Mark or Jamie Brandon crazy!
Insane
Is there anyway we can listen to the 2 last songs in this video? Cant find them anywhere yet you put the titles
Sure...here you go. czcams.com/video/ol6GVRzbS2E/video.html and www.datpiff.com/CHICAGO-STUD-------f-Nuthins-Gonna-Stop-Me-mixtape.708993.html..thanks for watching and listening
@@ChicagoStud ty brotha, your stuffs hot
@@hunterthurmond4771 appreciate it stay tuned
Chicago’s most Dominant players to me are 1. Mark Agiurre 2.Dan Issel (Batavia) 3. Ronnie Fields 4.Isaiah Thomas 5. Cazzie Russell 6. Derrick Rose 7. Terry Cummings 8.Eddie Johnson 9.Nick Anderson 10. Jabari Parker. I did it according to raw natural talent and how they played on the next level. Jabari Parker would not have won 4 titles in the 80s and especially the 70s because it was more competitive back then. I was never sold on Jabari being a great pro. Even though he had injuries, I didn’t see the athleticism that would propel him to the next level. ( Although that’s not always required.)
Wish Jabari had a better career look out for Part 3
Memories are priceless
Again its about high school career not after. Watch Knuckleheads and he will tell you he was not recruited until his senior year thus hos best offer was Marquette while all these players had their choice of where they wanted to go ..get it
There is absolutely no doubt Mark Aguirre should be on the list. How about Nick Anderson and Kendall Gill? Doc Rivers, Maurice Cheeks, and Ricky Green are all worthy, and had great years in the NBA as well. What about Dwayne Wade? That’s cool that you recognized Quinn Buckner, who may have been the finest all-around athlete ever in Illinois. Isiah Thomas was the best high school player I’ve seen in the state.
Lookout for part 2. Too many players not enough spots
Awwww snap u got it Poppin
Thanks family
There's one player i never see get any love, Efrem Winters. I never saw him in high school but I was a freshman at Northern Illinois when he was a senior at King. I would read about the monster stats he was putting up.
I will most def check him out and do my research
@@ChicagoStud thanks. He played at University of Illinois after high school
The story is ture 👁️ attend the highschool and watch him 2 quick guard. Could jump bigg not afraid of bag in the paint
Carl Golstone Phillips
What about Mike Finley??
Right ,some on the list didn’t even go pro 😂🤣
Can't buy this list without Ben Wilson. Sorry.
All these dudes had mad basketball skills!
Got it right about Jabari Parker. He dominated Illinois basketball💪😡
Facts Thanks for Watching
Damn no Jamie Brandon or Been Wilson
Ben Wilson and Jamie Brandon do this over
Ben was the truth
I played against Rashard Griffin at what was then Dyett Elementary on 51st and King Drive Back in 87-88
I worked at Provident hospital right across from there for 7 years and used to play basketball up there sometimes good memories thanks for sharing
@@ChicagoStud Hey, memories are always good. I'm glad I could contribute to that
Not sure about this list.....Most all the players seem to be from the 90s. I mean everyone on here was great n deserve love.
You simply cant have a top ten from chicago with out having Mark Aguirre, Terry Cummings, Antoine Walker, Tim Hardaway, Dwyane Wade, Ben Wilson, Doc Rivers, Mo Cheeks....Honestly theres so many as chicago is a hotbed of talent.
Nice line up but Mark Aguirre is missing from list
What about Terry Cummings and Mark Aguire. If I'm not mistaken, back to back Illinois H.S. Basketball champions, 1977 &1978 before becoming a powerhouse duo for DePaul, who also made it to the NCAA Tournament twice. HMMMMMMM! Good video though. Forgot all about Q. RICH.
Watch part 2
Part 2 is great too
They just said forget Raymond Mcoy from Depaul.
I went to school with Mc coy he was #1 in nation and Isiah Thomas was # 2
@@mikebudzinski3879 I knew his sister.
Did you go to Bloom?
@@mikebudzinski3879 no
I remember Dick Vitale being on Marcus Liberty's jock real hard..." Give me Liberty or give me death!!!"
Damn that saying is 🥶
Ben Wilson,Mark Aguirre,Terry Cummings,Juwon Howard, Tim Hardaway, Kendall Gill,Kenny Battle,

Stay tuned for part 2 KG has to be on that list he was a hired gun but too good to leave off
I didn’t count Kevin Garnett because he’s from South Carolina. Hersey Hawkins should have been on the list as well. He killed it his senior year at Bradley averaging about 36 ppg that year and did pretty good early in his NBA career
youre right
Check out marcus liberty podcast chicago ball on CZcams and you'll see all the legends interviews
I have seen it and its dope fam I love Marcus Liberty's game
What happened to Mark Aguirre ?
Better title would be top Ten Illinois High School career accomplishments. If you were rating the most talented the person at the top of my list would be James Jackson of Crane Tech.
What about Ben Simmons, Mark Aguire and Terry Cummings, also D Wade. Please, Teddy Grubbs.
Damn I didn’t even know KG went to high school in Chicago
One year
ok i shouldve done a top twenty for all the players who never won a state title
forgot d wade, will bynum, tony allen, luther head, sherron collins, dee brown shannon brown, anthony davis, jahleel okafor,....just to name a few
Cant put everyone on this list read the description sir ben never played his senior year and is a sentimental favorite but this is based on career. Mr basketball and state titles along with stats and dominance
Stay tuned for part 2
Most of you are not old enough to have seen Quin Buckner play. Just in the high school level he is the best ever from Chicago. I saw him play on tv. I’m 62
He was amazing I heard.
@@ChicagoStud ty
Phil Hubbard. Played with Green at Michigan. 6'7 190lb center. Larry Williams Phillips? Played with Crum at Louisville. Levi Cobb Morgan park played with illini. Bo Ellis ? Played for Mc guirre at Marquette. Cazzie Russell. Terry Cummings Carver. Not greatest in High school. Turned out ok in pros. Alfredrick Hughes. Loyola. J.J. Anderson. Avg 42 in late 70s.
So many Chicago hoop greats, but what about Glenn Rivers? Mark Aguirre? Maurice Cheeks? Tim Hardaway? Nick Anderson?

Watch Part 2 and look out for Part 3
You left D-Wade off?
Benji Wilson not on this ?
Disagree on schemer but that shit at proviso was legendary
🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Ben Wilson, Jamie Brandon?????
Can't do one of these without a lot of criticism. It's all relative, I just spoke to someone about Jimmy Sanders who killed KG in Highschool, never heard of him before. However after watching a tape he's the real deal.
I know all about him, was a great player and watch out for a video soon
I am sorry Nick Anderson, Ben Wilson
I kept watching to see what spot Benji was gonna be placed... 👀
Watch Part 2 Thanks for watching.
Rashad got 18 rings 🤯
Its about best high school career not best players from Chicago to play in NBA . 4 yrs 4 championships. Kg didnt win it all.
No Mark Aguirre,Terry Cummings, Nick Anderson, Eddie Johnson or Cazzie Russell? Get out of here
Thanks for watching part 1 check out part 2 my guy
This list is such Bull. Ever heard of Mark Aguirre, Terry Cummings, Nick Anderson, Benji Wilson, Kendell Gill?
Kevin Garnett should not be on this list. He was from South Carolina. He only played one year at Farragut.
Nol Frank Williams Sergio McClain Antoine Walker Juwan Howard Gerry Gee Dee Brown Shannon Brown
Frank Williams and Sergio are from Peoria sir and those other guys will be honored
A few of these guys are in the top 10 but this list is way off.
Really, who made this list? Are they from Chicago? Ben Wilson, Nick Anderson, Jamie Brandon, Juwan Howard, Mark Aguirre, Terry Cummings and Doc Rivers just to a new a few of TOP Chicago Players that should be easily in TOP 10. #truth
Watch Part 2 and yes I am Chicago Sir ...and all the players on my list deserve to be there and Juwan Howard does not, so many players with better stats and state titles , Mr Basketball ...Chicago has so many players you can make 5 lists so stay tuned
Yes his senior year
Q Rich needs to be higher top 3 for sure hands down.
First of all, Rashard Griffith should be much higher on this list. He won two state titles and was one of the most sought after 8th graders at the high school level maybe in the history of chicago.
Two players that didn't make this list who I'm putting on this list(my) list are "fear the 'brow" Anthony Davis and Jahlil Okafur. Both Davis and Okafur were Basketball giants both figuratively and literally. Jahlil Okafur won a state title at Whitney Young high school his senior year, then proceeded to win an "N.C.A.A." Basketball title at Duke university his freshman year. Anthony Davis was a late bloomer at Perspectives high school, but bloom he did. Both were "McDonalds" high school all-americans, and both won "N.C.A.A." Basketball championships their freshman years.
Don't even get me started on the late Ben Wilson not making this list. I get it, tragically, "Benji" didn't get to finish his high school Basketball tenure. But he should make this list just for the fact that he was the 1st chicago b-baller to be ranked the #1 player in America. Without Ben Wilson, there is no Kevin Garnett.
One more chicago high school Basketball player I would put on this list (partly because I graduated along side him in 1994) is Antoine Walker from Mount Carmel high school. Antoine Walker was a varsity star Basketball player his 1st high school game as a freshman to his "McDonalds" all-american honors as a senior. "Toine" didn't win a state title, but he would go kn to win an "N.C.A.A." Basketball title in 1996 at the university of kentucky. Ten years later, Walker would earn an"N.B.A." title with the miami "heat", along with 3 "N.B.A." all-star game appearances.
My top 10
Rashard Griffith
Kevin Garnett
Anthony Davis
Jahlil Okafur
George Mikan
Ben Wilson
Antoine Walker
Jabari Parker
Derrick Rose
Isiah Thomas
Agreed on all parts and will all be considered for part 3 you had the best commentary so far. czcams.com/video/Rb_jyAGjevg/video.html Check out Part 2
I think you should look up Jamie Brandon’s numbers then get back to me. 🤔
I will Sir. Lets face it this list can't please everyone
How the hell is Ben wilson not on this list????
Disrespectful putting Ronnie at 6 and Aguirre definitely needs to be on the list, you can't leave out Tim Hardaway, and if you put schemer on the list D wade, Antwon walker, Terry Cummings, Candice Parker, Cappie Poindexter Natasha Pointer, Cazzie Russell, will Bynum, larry Alloway Michael Finley Sherall Ford, Tamika Catchings you gotta really work this list out
So many ballers check out Part 2 and that's why I'm having multiple lists ..too many legends
@@ChicagoStud yeah I saw it I see you make your way around 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Wheres benji wilson and dwade
You Forgot Jamie Brandon
Can't agree with your list cause you said Chicago but you posted suburban players. They not Chicago High School players.
Ok so Isaiah Thomas is off the list because St. Joes is in Westchester?
@@ChicagoStud Absolutely correct. When you say Chicago high school I'm thinking CPS schools only.
@@Baldphace If we go there than Eddy Curry and Kyle Kleckner should not have been on Chicago Preps TV Show , I feel you though
No Ben Wilson.......... ? No Mark Aguirre?
where is dwade man
No Benji
Jamie Brandon???
Mark Aguirre
Look at Part 2 playa
So no Benji wilson or nick anderson wow
Those ridiculous backboards.
Where's Benji?
Benji….Doc…
Where is Ben Wilson
On Part 2
All those supposed greats….not one of them lasted in the NBA.
Who Kevin Garnett DRose Isiah Thomas ? Hall of Famers? You might wanna think that statement over
I thought this was supposed to be players from CHICAGO...
This list all fucked up. Kg shouldn't even be on the list. Plus ronnie Fields is top 3. Then where the hell is Ben willson
Cazzie Russell, Imari Sawyer, Mark Aguirre, ... like wtf made this list
BE PATIENT SIR PART 2 IS ON ITS WAY CHICAGO HAS SO MUCH TALENT IM DOING 3 TEAMS MY GUY
4 state titles is serious business but Jabari is not the best high school player of all time not even sure he’s in the top ten Jon scheyer might be one of the best high school shooters of all time but probably shouldn’t be on this list
Yoooooooo, this list is pure trash. How is J. Parker the best player out of Chicago, and how dose Tim Hardaway, and D.Wade dont even make the list. This is a Joke... LOL!!!!!
So no Benji?
Check out part 2 my man
No Mark Aguirre???
Watch Part 2 Sir thanks for watching
Quinn Buckner isn't from Chicago. Thornridge is not a Chicago school.
Ok then Isaiah Thomas does not make the list cause St. Joe's is in Westchester ...Quinn played and beat a lot of Chicago talent..he'll tell you himself
@@ChicagoStud The title of the video isn't where the teams u defeated were from. Isiah was a west sider but played in the suburbs. This list needs to be renamed, chicago area players. Jon Scheyer and many others on this video are suburbanites. Nothing wrong with either, but it's not accurate. As many have said already, no Mark Aguirre??? Please.
@@anonymousnoname1889 point well taken ...watch Part 2
@@ChicagoStud will do
Were is Dwade
watch Knuckleheads he wasn't heavily recruited as high school player at Richards and had to wait till end of senior year to get selected by Marquette which is a mid major so his high school career doesn't compare to the other guys on the list.
Destroy the whole list Yu put jabari Parker at #1 anybody from Chicago knows he’s not top 5 especially not over kg, drose, isiah thomas, Ronnie fields even ben Wilson...... matter of fact his teammate Kendrick nunn from Simeon is better nba player than him now
Yu could’ve even put Dwayne wade or Tim hardaway or nick anderson
That this is a joke has anyone forgot about mark acquire
Watch Part 2
Big ups to KG but he not from the chi...
Gotta have him on the list
