Owens was a role player in the NBA. He was a big star in college at Syracuse but never was able to make that transition to the NBA. He was a 63% career free throw shooter and was too left hand dominant with his ball handling. He couldn't shoot past the mid range consistently.

His penetration and kick style mixed in with his 3 ball was a threat all playoffs that the Spurs continuously capitalized on. He made so many passes that led to someone else getting an assist. Known as the hockey assist. Get a kick out of this. By 2014 Diaw was out of his prime. That early hype about his outside shooting is the craziest thing I have ever heard. 8 3 pointers in a 15mph wind??? He was TERRIBLE from outside. He kinda shot the ball on the way down from outside when he was open, very awkward. 29% career from 3, and he almost never shot it from out there. Also only 63% career from the line. Good player, I watched him a lot during his early years in Golden State, but yea, basically a bust when considering the hype. Edit: Upon further reflection I guess that 15mph wind could have somehow magically blown in 7 of the 8 by pure chance... lol Also, being a Richmond/Run TMC fan that trade was terrible. The Warriors should have ran with Run TMC for a decade.
