Thanks for the video, good explanation of MAP sensor diagnostic process. Luckily, my P0105 code was the result of a split in the vacuum hose leading to the MAP. Easiest, cheapest fix yet. 👍
Lovell Bins - I was under the opinion a P0325 will not trigger a CEL. I have been getting that code for years. Lately my problem has been a P1105 and I tested it watching both videos (except I didn't buy a vaccum yet) Everything tests OK but still throws the code every week or so.
What if there is no voltage reading once you connect voltmeter lead to paper clip connected to the white wire ? Your volts reading was about 4.2 volts before you applied the vacuum line mine is 0 volts before applying the vaccine. Thanks.
Hi I have done all these test and passed but code is still up and vehicle hesitate and stall so many time's. What other things should I check. A friend suggest I change the connector. Waiting to read you. Thanks
My MAP/baro switch solenoid tested OK -- strong clicking sound and movement when 12v applied. The input voltage for the MAP of 5v, that tested OK. The output signal voltage varies with vacuum sensed. With no vacuum, it read 4.8v which is normal. Using my mouth sucking on the vacuum line as hard as I could, I got it lowered to 2.4v. I saw you lowered yours using hand operated vacuum pump got the signal down to 1.2v. Do you think I sucked hard enough (hahah) or do I have a bad MAP?
I just tested my map sensor on my 2000 maxima as you explained. I am not getting any voltage from the middle wire. Other wires tested good. I do have 5 volts from red wire. If I am not getting any voltage from middle wire, is that a sure sign my sensor is bad?
I got a 2005 mercedes c230 1.8 and I had code p2228 and I checked deeper and then I seen code p0105 so I changed the sensor not thinking to check it first so I checked all the tests and everything was good but the middle wire didn't show 4.2 v coming out through the sensor it showed 1.8 v with no vacumn I have 5v going in the sensor and I have good ground and I checked these same numbers with 2 different sensors same outcome. do you have any suggestions also my car is a 1.8 supercharged
On my 2011 chevy Silverado 5.3 mapp sensor and the first grey wire I have 5dc volts and the middle signal wire I have 24 volts which seems high to me ?
Meant to ask on my earlier post after l change the map sensor do l still have to pull out the EDM and reset it or will it do that itself if it see the Map sensor is workin ? And thanks for your time and effort.
+Lionel Berthelon If the sensor is working (and there are no other trouble codes) the computer will reset on it's own. It takes a bit of time so be patient.
+CarsNToys Did all your tests, had vacuum/no leaks/right voltage/good ground & no other codes, so now whats left is the replacement part. RockAuto was out of stock on the Hitachi PS54-01 and what they had was another make which was over 250.00 plus dollars. Went to ebay found Hitachi PS54-01 $10.44 used W/30 day guarantee (looked to be new) W/ free shipping orderd 11/14/15 received 11/17/15 , 20 min install did a manual rest, bingo no codes. Thank you, thumbs up. ebay link for some one that might need one and is tight on cash. www.ebay.com/itm/261259393300
Great videos. My 1999 Nissan Altima has both P0105 and P1105 codes. I see these are related problems. Could the hose between the two be causing both codes? I will check. Great help.
CarsNToys can you help me with a p0305 knock sensor code...replaced it with a brand new ks but still showing ks code. Your video helped me with the map sensor
Great video l have a code P0105 that just popped up on my 1998 w/1.6 eng. Sentra GLE only have 43,000 miles on it. Everything test good as to what you show in your video up to a point l don't have a vacum and cant make that test yet. will let you no the out come.
Good Afternoon, Do you know if the 1995 Nissan Maxima has a MAP Sensor? If so, where is it located? I've looked for the sensor as in the video but not locating it. Thanks for your help!
hey carsntoys!! first, thanks for the video, already help me somethin. but i have a similar car, 1999 quest and my boost sensor got disconnet and dont know why or where to hook it, the sensor says ps64-01, if you please can help my a bit wil so well reseive, thank you in advanse, take care an keep posting
So if P0105 exists, And the Air Intake Sensor has correct voltages and adjustments under pressure, What else could throw the fault code up, My Vaux 2.2 Diesel is not accelerating above 3000rpm and seems to have no boost either, Sounds rattly through-out compared to quiet when it runs normal.
Thanks for the video. I assume all sensors on a 4th gen maxima can be tested in the same manner. Do to the mileage on my vehicle I'm willing to change all. Also, would love to see a video regarding adjusting the timing or replacing the timing chain.
Thanks for doing the video it great information, am getting a P0105 (MAP sense) and a P0400 EGR code. Can the P0400 be the result of the P0105 code or are the separate issues?

Good video! I have a 2001 Camry with a po105 code. I get 5volts at the plug but I can’t verify the ground via continuity.

Thank you I’m having this problem barometric pressure b20 swap in dc2 Ground is good , 5 V is good, I will try the ECM next .

Yes, it does. It's the same or very same as this video's car.

+Nano M I don't have any experience with diesels, but sounds like an issue with the mass air flow sensor.
