What does it mean to fight your status quo?
Editor-at-large for The Business of Fashion and Master in Fashion Writing and Curation mentor Tim Blanks challenged himself during an open conversation with Fashion Design and Fashion Business students.
"If you have a status quo, and you fight the status quo, you're asserting yourself by taking a trend and twisting it. You have the people who wear the trend, the people who follow, and then the people who lead and disturb the trend. That's people. Followers and leaders. I think probably fashion used to be more about trends than it is. People maybe have less time for the idea because I do feel people are much more interested in their own identities rather than an imposed identity which is what seems to be happening in society."
