I'm certain he will. Kimi will retire soon and Daniel will take his place at Ferrari. Admittedly, he'll be up against Vettel, but Rosberg managed to beat Hamilton, so Ricciardo can definitely beat Vettel, as I think they're closer in talent than Rosberg and Hamilton were.
Vettel already got outperformed by Ricciardo once in 2014..
I think Ric could win the champ this year, but it needs two things. 1. Renault have to step up on the engine side, either they are being too conservative with development ie. they are too worried about engines that are ok on the dyno not lasting in race conditions or they have cost problems. 2. Red Bull have to put 100% behind Dan and forget about Max. It's something that goes against the grain at Red Bull (Newey hates biased in a team as does Horner) however I don't think Verstappen will ever be WDC, he is too like his dad, impulsive, an inability to engage his brain at the right time, and a propensity to be involved in the most stupid of incidents that cost money and points.

Not saying it wouldn't require an Herculian effort however, as for the car, it's the best chassis on the grid. The aero works better than the Merc or the Ferrari, it has a visible advantage in low speed corners, can follow other cars with less upset to aero and it has superior dynamics under braking over both main rivals. The Renault package is letting it down, which is why the powertrain upgrade coming in Canada has to be at least somewhere between the level of the Ferrari 2018 unit and the Ferrari 2017 unit. With Renault, the loss of Bernard Dudot has hurt them with the change of regs to the Direct Injection Hybrids. They can't get the combustion process right and that's the reason they are weak against Merc and Ferrari.
honestly speaking, id hate to see Daniel leave RedBull. Redbull is such a fun team. Redbull really pulled out the likable personality of Daniel. y'know, with all those activities they do each rounds of a season. and the behind the scenes videos. off season videos. And Daniel and max has one of if not, the best driver chemistry ive seen in formula 1. but thatll be selfish of me. I can only hope redbull make a really good car so Daniel can still go for the title and be in redbull
I also hope those two will be the RB team for a couple of years more... like you said they have great chemistry and both the potential for being world champions. I'm rooting for both of them. I used to be a Vettel fan when he was still the fun loving happy driver when he was at RB, but since he's with Ferrari he's becoming a lot less likable, doesn't smile as much and his whining is annoying... although he seems to whine a lot less these last few races, I was even surprised with his calm and quiet reaction after the China GP concerning the collision with Max... and his criticism concerning the timing of the safety car was completely justified.
Seb and Max get along well outside the track, they love fighting each other on track. Right after the race Max apologized to Seb and Seb even felt sorry for Max. So good that Seb stopped whining and has a more positive approach (like in his Red Bull days).
Well, maybe now he'll make some videos where he's learning french! haha

They got a bit of luck and also made a great strategy call in China. Max had good pace but they weren’t rapid.

Talk about Ferrari but we all know Seb never likes being Never likes being a number 2.... Daniel and Lewis seem more kindred spirits. But Hamo might not like the heat Dan would bring. Interesting times. Hope RB sort this reliability isssue out quickly or Dan will be Gonnnnnnne

Mercedes would be a better fit. He'd be allowed to fight Lewis and they let the drivers have a laugh.
Well, what options does Danny really have? Right now, it is sticking with RBR. Ferrari environment would be too toxic. Mercedes could be an option, but I doubt whether Lewis could stand the heat of Dan. Non-aggressive Valtteri is the safe option for Lewis. Don't forget, Dan has grown a lot since Seb left RBR. Renault could be an option, they are improving every season.

Jack Brabham is the only Australian to win world championship I would love to see Daniel Riccardo win one before he retires from the sport it's so sad it's about money these days the only loyal racer I see on the track is Hamilton he has been with Mercedes since he started and has swapped chassis through the years but stuck it out with Mercedes and it shows his progress is on another level racers nee to step up there game If they want to be the best

That is a distinct possiblity, although I think Toto won't want a driver with such a strong personality and with so much talent going up against Lewis. Daniel is more talented than Rosberg, yet Mercedes had a lot of trouble with their drivers when he was there. I think Daniel is more likeable than Nico, so Lewis might be okay, but I think it would be better to keep Bottas.
I don´t think Bottas will retire,he´s been great so far this season,just unlucky

I don't know, Lewis does like competition, because he knows that would improve him. But Bottas is performing solidly, hardly taking any risks.
