How to Install a New Band and Hinge on the Big Green Egg

- I picked up my Big Green Egg a few years ago and it was used. After using it for a few more years the lid just became heavier and heavier to lift and there was a lot of rusting around the bolts that I no longer cared to look at.
At this time, I was lucky enough to find an awesome deal on a BGE table. It only made sense to get rid of the nest and in doing so, replace the band and hinge on the Big Green Egg. I couldn’t be more happy with how well the new BGE band assembly looks and even better yet, performs.

Thank you for this video. I just bought a used large green egg and wooden rolling table for 600 bucks. This is the only piece that I need to replace.

I need a new hinge assembly for my old BGE, I can’t get mine to align properly..
And the top left side of the band keeps sliding down.
I was wondering if those blue spacers come with the new one?

I want to personally thank you for your instructional video. I have to replace my first generation band. The set up looks easy. Are there any snags that I should be on the look for. I have 2 side trays. Will that go on as easy.?
I ditched my side tables and installed my BGE into a table, but yes, they should install just as easy. Glad I could help. Good luck!
Great video! You use an 11 and 13 mm ...do you know if the nuts are the same on an XL egg?
