Hey there! Oh it is my pleasure and I couldn't agree with you more about those two incredible books! Let me know what you think once you've read the Mis-Education of the Negro. :)
I just bought the warmth of other suns. I can’t wait to read it. I read her book Caste and it was eye opening and amazing. Definitely a must read.
Let me know what you think! I still have to read Caste!
You must be an amazing teacher 😍 thank you for sharing the history! Appreciate the book recommendations! I just read transcendent kingdom by gyasi. It was so good. Will have to read homecoming!
Aww thank you, friend! I read Transcendent Kingdom too! Homegoing is better in my humble opinion. Let me know what you think!
Olive recommended you and I haven't been disappointed. I look forward to all your content.

Came here from your black classics video that appeared in my feed. A book friends and I plan to buddy read Homegoing this year - so bumping that to February! Thanks for all these other recommendations to look at.
I recently re-read Roll of Thunder as an adult and adored it. The scene with Cassie's mother in the school with the school board was hurtful, fantastic and made me angry. So very keen to pick up Education of Negro's and see more of the injustice explored indepth. I also plan to find, buy and read the whole Logagn family saga because that book help up and supassed my past feelings for it and is a favourite.💜📚
Wow! You have some fantastic reading plans ahead of you! I must read Roll of Thunder! I keep hearing about it after all these years. Homegoing is one of my favorite reads of all time and I cannot wait for you to dive in!
@LaRosaReads so excited for Homegoing! I like going into books knowing as little as possible, so looking forward to coming back for all your thoughts once read.
I cannot recommend Roll of Thunder enough. I listened to the audio book, which also had an author note at the end read by Mildred D Taylor herself. Her families stories inspired the series, I cannot wait to read more. Will be looking up your other recommendations 💜📚

Come because Olive tells me to. Stay because I'm loving the content! Excellent recommendations. I hadn't heard of The Miseducation of the Negro and I can't believe it! (I'm Canadian, please forgive me!) My library doesn't have it so my next task is to command them to buy some copies!
Oh you are so kind! Welcome to LaRosa Reads. 💜 I would never judge someone's library! I am grateful to be connected with you. Let me know what you think!
Great video
Thank you!
I'm currently reading 'White Lies: The Double Life of Walter F. White and America’s Darkest Secret' and so far it's amazing, what a brave man! And like others Olive sent me :)
Yay! Welcome to my channel! I love Olive and I'm so grateful for the shoutout! I am adding that book to my TBR! I'm so glad you're here!
Hi, I came from Olive's.
Yay! Welcome to my channel! I love Olive and I'm so grateful for the shoutout! I'm so happy to connect with you!
Like others, I found you through Olive. Thank you for these recommendations. I never know what to pick!! I just finished Passing. I also bought Teaching Black History to White People by Leonard N. Moore. As a white person I want to hear this!! So I’ll definitely get my hands on your three and would be interested in your thoughts about Passing and the Leonard Moore book. Thanks also for the lesson about Black History Month itself. PS I also plan to read Jesus and the Disinherited by Howard Thurman-but I’ve only gotten through a few pages because it’s dense for me. (Or maybe I’m dense!!😂)
Yay! Welcome to my channel! I love Olive and I'm so grateful for the shoutout! I am beyond excited to connect with you! I have been meaning to read Passing and watch the film on Netflix for quite some time! I need to get on it. I will add the Leonard Moore book and Disinherited to my TBR!
@@LaRosaReads please let me know how you feel about the Moore book when you get to it. Another booktuber named Courtney Ferriter reads a lot of African American literature. She’s a professor at UGA in Athens GA. Hey guess what? The MisEducation book is on you tube free. Very well narrated. I downloaded the first few chapters.
I too am really excited to learn more from you, hear your thoughts and opinions on the books you have read and hopefully grow as a person. Really appreciate how thoughtfully you have put this video together. Thank you!
Also, thanks to AbookOlive for the booktube tips.
