Homemade Gift: Comfrey Salve | DIY Healing Salve | Vlogmas Day 7

Happy Vlogmas Day 7! Today I'm sharing a super easy DIY Salve recipe with you. Note: I am making a comfrey salve but this works for many different kinds of dried herbs. I recently mad a lavender salve the same way.
These homemade salves make great easy Christmas gifts, especially for your homesteader friends! Let me know what you think.
COMFREY SALVE RECIPE:
Ingredients:
- Dried comfrey leaves (or comfrey root): www.frontierco...
- Olive oil (nothing fancy)
- Beeswax: amzn.to/3sYl69L
- Food scale: amzn.to/3GyZeVt
- Mason jars
- 2oz tins: amzn.to/4adn3Q8
- Pot & glass bowl that can sit on top
Instructions:
- 1 cup dried comfrey leaves
- Put in mason jar and cover with olive oil (at least 1 inch above dried comfrey)
- Let sit for 2-6 weeks
- Once ready, strain oil out into a fresh mason jar or any other container
- Weigh your infused comfrey oil.
- Use 1oz beeswax per 8 oz of infused oil.
- Add 2 inches of water to your pot and boil. Set glass bowl on top of pot.
- When water is boiling, add beeswax and infused oil.
- Let melt and stir gently until fully melted
- Pour melted mixture into a smaller bowl or measuring cup with a spout
- Pour into 2oz tins
- Let sit for several hours until hardened

Cute! You could top it with a dried red flower or berry to give it a festive red/green Christmas look :) What does it smell like? I've never heard of Comfrey!

Good Idea!! It smells pretty neutral and just herby. It’s a plant I had never heard of until I joined the local homesteaders group but love having this salve around the house for all my cuts and scrapes.
