- Burn and scare treatment! I didn't know how to treat a burn or prevent scarring and ended up using herbs for the healing process like the comfrey plant as an organic recipe comfrey salve with lemon balm, coconut oil, and beeswax. It has the plant material within it and not just the plants extracts so you might even want to consider it a poultice but it is a super creamy, smooth comfrey salve no doubt that has turned out to be my most effective natural remedy for so many things, even sunburns or bug bites. This is how I will heal a burn in the future off grid or on without doctors, hospitals, or electricity if ever in that situation again. Using dried herbs is more than just for eating food, they can prevent many ailments, heal, and make for healthier living on a daily basis. They can also be a natural remedy for just about anything if we learn how to use them properly. I don't know what to use for everything but I will continue drying plants or solar dehydrate herbs while I learn more new recipes with natural plants like these.
Enjoy and don't forget to SHARE so other can prepare for unforeseen events in their lives as well.
This Recipe:

May all your branches become full of fruit.

Hello to all. I thought I talked about the mill used in this vid and never responded to so many others asking about it because I mistakenly thought I had mentioned it and didn't want to continue repeating myself. I have since watched my own vid again and realized that I had in fact DID NOT mention or talk about it. Please accept my apologies. I have the model #116 from this small family company at this web address - grainmaker.com
I have also received an E-mail from a recipient of one of the jars of the very Comfrey Salve that I made during this video and wanted to share the testimony mail with others. Others have responded with similar experiences and this one is as follows and exactly as I received it minus his personal e-mail and last name:
"Hey, I hope yall are doing well. I dont know if you remember me but you sent me a jar of your comfrey salve as a gift for catching clues in a video. I wanted to let you know that stuff is awesome. I recently had a mishap while sharpening my chainsaw and instead of going to a doctor I pushed my skin back together and applied gauze and tape with this salve liberally applied. Within a week it has healed tremendously and the whole time it kept the pain to pretty much non existent. Well i figured i would drop you a line and let you know how much that has helped me and see how yall were doing especially with all this other stuff going on in the nation. John 16:33 in my NKJV Bible is a fitting verse for these times for sure. Well I hope all is well. Have a good day."
I Thank You for sharing Derek P.
Do you sell the ground comfrey and lemon balm please?
Give weights for your 1 c comfrey and 2 T lemon balm in ounces and/or grams. that will be more accurate.
What's your email addy
Just a small tip for those who may not know- in order to get the most strength out of your herbs, pick them JUST BEFORE THEY BLOOM. This is when the plant is producing the most oil, so this is when it’s strongest. 😊
Thanks for mentioned that. I have been wondering lately when I should harvest my chamomile, spearmint and peppermint that I grew for the first time this year. I will be looking for the flowers before I pick.😊
What time of the day is best to pick the herbs to get the most flavor?
@@annchong9701 I believe it is after the dew on them has dried, so about 9:00 a.m.
@annchong9701 in the morning just after the dew dries off the leaves. That's when it has the most oil in the leaves. As it gets hotter in the day some of the oils go to the stem and roots then back up again at night.
Thank you for the tip
Many years ago I fell and landed on my thumb it started swelling and hurt like the dickens, I pulled some comfrey leaves packed into a cup added hot water push a wash cloth into the mixture to absorb the comfrey tea juice and then placed it on my Thumb 15 minutes later swelling gone and NO pain. Good stuff.
Awesome my friend. Have shared to my Wife. Plantain is another good salve to try....😊
I would take the stem and make a tincture, as it's been used internally for treating diarrhea, and it's been claimed to heal gastric ulcers, hemorrhoids, and to suppress bronchial congestion and inflammation. This way none of the plant is wasted.
😢I figure I am 3years to late but it is cool
I have never had coconut oil go rancid either. It also has anti bacterial properties and excellent for oral oil pulling - which makes all the more sense to use in salves. Thanks for this because I was thinking coconut oil as I am about to make salve with my comfrey, and your video is the first that shows use of coconut oil vs olive oil. I pick up those small electric coffee grinders at Goodwill for average $4 ea.
Calendula is good to add too
Comfrey infusion with organic cloves is the best mouth healer for canker sores. Protects the enamel on your teeth. Just keeps a healthy mouth
Grazie 🙏🌻
How is this used? Please do tell. Does it rebuild enamel on teeth? Thank you.
Beautiful way to utilize natural herbs for healing
The most awesome and detailed video on Comfrey Salve thanks!!
Well I'm two years too late for the giveaway but I am so happy to have found this video. I grow comfrey the bocking 14 variety and just love it. I'm definitely going to try making Salve your way because I did want to make a stronger version. Enjoy this video very much. Thank you
Thank u , I use comfrey , I to had a real bad steam burn the salve healed. U are getting the word out about natural healers.
I enjoyed your comfrey video. I liked your coconut oil suggestion instead of olive oil. You are so genuine and explained your recipe perfectly. I will be making your salve. Thank you for posting.
I am in dehydrator envy ❤! Thankyou for the recipe , I’m going to give this a try. Greatly appreciated, keep up the great work.
I'm thinking the same thing to try this dehydrator. Just need some parts.
I'm so glad that I found your info about comfrey. I'm wasn't lucky enough to get one of your salve little jars, I live in Ontario Canada and I don't qualify for it. However I think it's wonderful you sharing your product and information.
God bless you! 🙏
You can dedicate a coffee bean grinder just for dried herbs, as it will also make a fine powder.
Yes you can use a coffee grinder dedicated to herbs. Typically, they are small and won’t be able to handle large amounts, so it may take several passes. You can also use a high speed blender.
Yes a coffee grinder works great 😊
I can't even tell you how excited I was to find this video (and your whole channel)! I have a 2-gallon jar full of dried (but not yet crushed) lemon balm leaves from my herb garden last year -- honestly didn't know what I was going to do with them since I'm still a beginner with herbs, but now I know exactly what I'll use them for! And my comfrey crown that I bought last May from a local farmwife & planted (which grew into a huge bush within a month!) is already coming back from the winter, so I imagine I'll have lots of comfrey leaves in another month or so.
I'm sending my deepest appreciation and many thank-yous!!
Lemon balm is soooooo good in.tea blends ❤
I was watching a CZcams about the medicinal properties of comfrey and they said not to use it on an open wound and not to take it internally and not to use it for more than 10 days! I need to do more research. Because obviously if you put it on a burn and another person said that they put it on an open wound didn't seem to hurt them. Just thought I'd throw that out in case anybody wants to double check. They said too much of it can lead to toxic liver. Which makes sense it's powerful! Everything in moderation!
I very much love the way you made your Comfrey Healing Salve and very much appreciate the efforts you took to show us the complete recipe and directions. I just found your channel today and I am really excited about making this salve. I really want to take a look through your channel at past videos to hopefully see a video showing how you made your dehydrator. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us. May God always Bless you and keep you safe and healthy.
Another way to ensure suspension of ground plant material is to cool the mix almost til gel consistency. Then mix. Or, cool to consistency of softened butter, then use a hand mixer, kitchenaid or stick blender.
Basically it's like making herbed butter. The final product will need to be scooped into jars and packed like brown sugar with the bottom of a measuring cup slightly smaller than the opening of the jar.
Thanks for the recipe. It helped my 2nd degree burn. I don't think it would have left a scar if I'd gotten to it sooner. As it is it's still quite faded.
I made your recipe. I've been using the salve on my normally dry and itchy hands and arms. This is the best ever. Instant relief. Thank you.
Hey, I was wondering where you got your mill? I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer last year and also I had a tumor on my back and was hardly able to walk. Thank God he is so good to me! I got one of your jars of comfrey around 8 months ago and I am now using it on my back. I need my vertebrae to heal. The tumor on my back, broke my back so I am praying God will divinely heal me!
GrainMaker grain mill. Montana state if I remember correctly.
I agree. With you for your healing.
Praying for you ❤

Hi, I'm interested on your dehydrator. I wish to see more
God bless you for this comfrey salve recipe I am definitely going to make this salve recipe and grind up the comfrey and lemon balm to a powder . I am so thankful and grateful for your help .
may the sun shine and the rain gently fall on your land God bless
I came across your other video after my mom had a similar mishap with a pan of bacon grease all over her hand and arm. After watching your video she ordered a jar and is currently waiting for it to arrive. She plans on growing the plants in her garden moving forward.
I was struck by how many people in the Amazon reviews stated that it alleviated their knee pain. As she also suffers from knee pain, this could potentially benefit her in more than one way. Thank you for your informative videos around this worthwhile plant.
I just watched this video today.. I figure it's a bit late for the entry for the free jar of comfrey salve. I do recognize the two numbers 479 and 501 as being Arkansas area codes!
I'm here to see how you make your salve and then I'm headed to the kitchen. Great video! Thanks for posting!
Yeah! Thank you 💗
Pretty cool
Awesome video 🙏🏽
This is fantastic! Thank you so much for showing us this!
Thank you so much sir!!!
Tyvm for sharing, Very nice grain mill and dehydrator! I always keep my dried herbs whole until I am ready to use them because of the volatile oils and healing properties. Good idea to grind your comfrey and lemon balm! Coconut oil is also antimicrobial.
Thank you for your feedback. I agree about the whole herbs but ours get used for other things as well for consumption.
@@3basketliving Comfrey is an awesome plant!!!
What else do u do with it? Do u eat it? I make an infusion with it.
It is real good for your garden. Either cut and drop it where it's needed or put it in the compst to help it compost faster
Love your salve ❤

Love your style.
Thanks for the lesson.
made some already, but always interested in how other people make theirs! On that note you got yourself a new subscriber😉
Tks for sharing this recipe method with us
I finally had a good use for the Montana build grain mill (I gave up wheat a long time ago). although i ground the last batch, it was no where near as powdery as when using the grain mill. Thanks! We made one batch last night into this morning and it's already on it's way to people who need it. I'm eyeing the dehydrator now.
i watched you right through 😊
Cant wait to try this method tomorrow 😍 thanks for this. I have a 2nd degree burn I need to heal and loads of organic comfrey growing already
Am happy for this medicine wonderful

Thank you for posting this video. I have been wanting to make comphery salve. I also grow both these plants. You gave me the courage to finally go for it.

Right on! Thanks.
Great recipe, thanks brother.
Thank you for the simple recipe. I will be making this. I'm new to your videos I like them so far. Thumbs up.
Too bad I live in Canada. Would love some of your salve. Thanks for the instructions. I will try and make my own and have already shared the video with family and friends.
I am very impressed with your ingredients and process of making this Comfrey Salve, well done, and thanks for sharing, and posting from the UK.
wow I am so anxious to make this recipe. I saw your burn healing video also. I currently have a second degree burn on my toes. I poured boiling maple sap over them. I was using Plantain Salve that I made, but I ended up going to the hospital since it was so severe. And they didn't give me the silvadene cream either. Surprised about that. Had I known about your cream, I would have had it made and ready to use. I will be growing some comfrey this summer to make some of this salve. Thanks so much for sharing. Praying my toes heal up as nice as your arm did!!! Thanks
After watching this video I will be making some salve..so good that you shared your recipe..thank you so much..
Thanks for the video, sadly I have seen this too late plus I live overseas. However, your video was most informative. I will have to grow some more lemon balm .I look forward to more subjects.
Your video was awesome, straightforward, detailed and informative!!! Keep doing what you do !! ( your Name sir?) I can’t wait to try your recipe and the salve. Just wish I saw your video back when you were offering the salve give away ! Peace brother.
