Every president questions immunity. Here's a simple rule to the president's, if you think what you're doing is illegal or unconstitutional, then it probably is and don't do what you're planing to do until you find out for sure. All these decisions that got these presidents in some trouble weren't decisions that had to be on the spot, these were issues that took months for these presidents to make their decisions.

So if something is illegal, or against, the federal government, then Congress is already spoken. If it’s state government, then the states have already spoken. So I just don’t see why the president needs to be insulated by the Congress. And most cases he probably shouldn’t be. And it’s not really being insulated by Congress in the big picture sense of what Congress is, but rather he’s probably gonna be insulated by his own party. They are the ones that are going to resist, turning him over to the justice system if he has done something wrong.or if the other part is in power in Congress, they may perhaps coerce him or they will turn him over to the wolves so to speak.

The more power the court gives the Executive Branch....the less to their own Judicial Branch. A President with full immunity could just eliminate them if he wanted, or "make them disappear". The court ought to tred lightly.

Here is an interesting question that should be asked of the Supreme Court: Suppose the Supreme Court grants absolute immunity to a president, and the president (e.g., Joe Biden) thinks the Supreme Court's decision in this immunity case is unconstitutional and decides to have the justices who voted for immunity killed in order to save democracy, in his view. Should this president get away with it? I bet the Supreme Court would cry out loud: No, a president should not be allowed to get away with such a decision with impunity.

Settle what out of court? Bribes? Lawsuits get settled. Disputes get settled. Bribes to keep people quiet (hush money) don't get settled in court and are illegal when done during a campaign to influence an election.
