This is an old post. I live in this area and boat in Georgian Bay and the Trent. It is still awesome and hasn't changed. The young lady that did this video did a great job as well. If you ever do this cruise, you will never forget it.

None of the locks on the Canal du Centre exceeds 16.3 meters (55.5 feet) in lift height, so the 65-foot (19.8 meter) height of the Peterborough Lift Lock does indeed make it the highest single-lift hydraulic lock in the world.

65 feet is not the largest lift lock in the world ...sorry......Strepy-Bracquegnies, Belgium canal du centre does 73 meters ( 239 feet)
