People who disliked this movie are probably sleeping with the fishes.
Maybe are Barzinis or Tataglias
Or waking up with a horse head in there bed.
Oh didn't know there's someone who doesn't like Godfather 😱
I thought it was boring and overrated. Can't stay awake the first 20 mins of this bore fest.
@@pgendron8491 maybe you need just Marvel movies...
From the days when the story and the acting mattered more than special effects. Absolute class.
So very true.
the studio actually asked for the movie to be restored after previewing a version shortened at their request,
that says a lot about the material and their integrity
But the special effects are world class even for today - every effect in the baptism scene from the blank firearms to the blood squibs is awesome, for lack of a better word.
Moe Green's glasses cracking like that just before the blood cascades from the wound blows my tiny mind every time.
@@Pieceoreece entirely different breed of special effects if compared to what is today.
A lot more realistic
Perfectly said.
Michael saying "I wouldn't make my own sister a widow" without blinking, shows how cold blooded and ruthless he truly was
to protect the integrity of the family
Perhaps his whole sentence is " I wouldn't make my own sister a widow -- if her husband didn't murder my elder brother."
I Shawn Sang Ik Kim has always been, is, will always be the very best perfect powerful alpha male conqueror king of this world. Thanks
@@shawnkim8542 Alpha male is a made up load of bull
Michael was the villain of the series.
Godfather died peacefully playing with his grandson in the family back yard ,wow great scene🕊️ 💜
He died among tomato plants, like a true Italian would.
Probably the finest film ever made. A motion picture achievement that’ll never be equalled.
No.
@@Topper_Harley68 it’s called an opinion.
I agree.
@@Topper_Harley68 shut up otherwise you'll be sleeping with the fishes
BenHur surpasses it period!!
Godfather 1 & 2 are epic movies they don’t make them like that anymore. Every scene is deep and also meaningful. It’s a pleasure watching the film.
They never made them like that. Only other film like it is Goodfellas. If they made more films like them, they wouldn’t be the unique riveting masterpieces that make them stand out and be timeless.
There’s been crime thrillers and dramas before and after. But nothing quite like those three
@@amuroray9115 Fair enough.
Michael Franzese thinks, that Godfather is very close to the real thing! And MF isn´t a "nobody"!
@@amuroray9115 Breaking bad was, mafia and drugs.
@@amuroray9115 i feel like the departed is better than goodfellas. Hugely underrated
Was gonna say that a certain scene should've been here, but then I remembered that every single scene qualifies as iconic.
ain’t that the truth though. every single scene is amazing, no wasted time
You are absolutely right. This film is as nearly perfect as a movie can be.
Yeah they all are. Start to finish. Epic. My all time favorite film.
The perfect
@@moek4361 he could have said you must have forgot how to spell keep that in mind when you want to say something about somebody imagine they'll be plenty things about you that you definitely wouldn't want the world to know right‽ right.
So many fantastic scenes. Being a grandfather myself now, the saddest one, when the Godfather dies while playing with his grandson is now a sentimental favorite.
“Look at how they massacred my boy” that scene poor Sonny.
Sonny whipping on Carlo with the trash can never cease to make me erupt with laughter.
I would have thought James Cann missing by a country mile and Gianni Russo selling it like he was hit with a brick would be funnier.
@@Rockhound6165 that adds to the hilarity!
Everybody laughed
You can clearly see a punch that was about a foot short from hitting Carlo.
J.Vinton thats my favorite part!
50 years is how old this master piece.
time flies man
The writing, the music, the casting, the locations/sets, the cinematography..... everything about this movie is brilliant. Brando as Vito is the single greatest thing to ever happen in cinema. You don't even see Brando. Only Don Corleone. One of my favorite movies of all time. Love everything about it.
Brando was superb, he wasn’t even that old when he played the part of Don Vito Corleone. A masterpiece of cinema history, with great performances from all the actors.
There’s also Al Pacino as Michael. Al Pacino was perfect to play Michael.
I agree. Brando was absolutely magnificent in the role.
No current actor can pull off the emotion Michael shows in his eyes before shooting the Turk and chief
It makes you wonder why the other people at the table somehow didn't even notice.
@@luminous6969 I think the way Cappolla wrote it the Turk knew who the muscle part of the family were hence didn't wanna negotiate with Sonny, so they probably thought it was nerves
Nobody remembers him
@@afroriginalvoice9419 no one remembers who?
Oh please - lots of people could. Pacino was not even the 4th choice for this part.
This film will always be a masterpiece.
Ahora un film para bet seller de la " mafia olor a pedo " dominante

My favorite, I watch it every time it comes on TV, I'm 84 and I've still watch tapes, love it

Ooh God 😀 , I am 31 and have watched this Movie around 10 times till now , Never got bored
What are tapes?
@@wayneurquhart7192 VHS or Betamax, but now the movie is available on blu ray and in 4k, even for downloading.
vito died playing with his grandchild. An honourable ending to an honourable man,
Because any man who doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man
And Michael died alone as an old man with no one by his side
he was a sociopath you fool don't idolize these people
Honorable man??? He was a murderer. A criminal. Dude, what society do you live in??
@@Shiva-jj6vb damn..
The 70s were the classiest, most beautiful decade ever. When movies were made with soul and talent.
Aa yea most beautiful decade with wars, violence, serial killers
Iconic scenes from the Godfather should be about a three hour video right? Basically the entire length of the movie is iconic. Not only the best mafia movie. Simply the best movie ever. The only way to not like the Godfather is to hate great writing, acting, story line and plot twists. A masterpiece to supersede all others.
👌💯
I agree but I got one film that can rival it.
@@amuroray9115 I'm interested
@@klaust.2808 Goodfellas.
@@amuroray9115 Not even close.
To this day, I’m still mad about Sonny’s death. They didn’t have to do him like that.
I still blame Carlo for made Sonny killed
@@ahmedziyaharmanci Captain Obvious 🥴
The kick in the head went too far!!
All of the Corleone's enemies hated Sonny with a passion because they feared his violent temper. Sonny was a hot-headed, ruthless psychopath who enjoyed violence, and this instilled great fear in the hearts and minds of his enemies. That kind of sustained fear will fester into intense hatred....it's the same stuff that motivates the violence in some of these kids being bullied today.
And you always reap what you sow....Sonny had to die that way.
He was a bad Don…just business
"Don't ever take sides with anyone against the family again, ever" was such a great scene
Al Pacinos performance in both Godfather1 and 2 was iconic, brilIANT,and captivating the powers that be were smart to keep him on it was the best gamble they ever made
Marlon Brandon performance so freaking real he was the best!
2:19 damn if it wasn't for that kick he would still be alive
No, he wouldn`t. In the book it`s said that they beaten his face to mock the body (as a message to his father too), he was dead at that time.
Caan still is begging Coppola to play Sonny again ,
'I pull all the bullets from my ass , let me play Sonny again....'
@@Delulu-To-Trululu no chance it was the kick that killed him
The fact that someone actually thought he was being serious is depressing
🤣🤣🤣
To bring all these greatest artists in the universe together, script and direct them, edit them, release it on time is Already an unparalleled achievement in the history of cinema.
Forget about the story .....
After Sonny delivers the final kick sending Carlo to the gutter, I half expected a Carlo Rizzi voiceover saying, "The way I saw it, everybody takes a beating sometime".
Marlon Brando was a great actor. He will be missed forever. Just like a true Godfather.
2:40 That 4th punch though.
Fr tho. I thought I was tripping b
lol
An unmatched Saga, Superb story & direction and above all an excellent satrcast and class acting of both Marlin Brando and Al Pachino.
Still after passing 50 years, it's great nastlegia. Simply an outstanding movie.
This is not a Movie, it is a Masterpiece which needs to be protected at all cost.
I never before noticed that while Carlo is being gently garroted, the car is driving away, like nothing is happening in the back seat.
Greeting from Türkiye 🇹🇷 this movie is legend! Number one
The godfather is still one of the best movie I have see
The baptism scene. That is true gold. The people who disliked this scene, they sleep with the fishes.
No one can told this story better than fransis Ford Coppola.absalute beauty, masterpiece, awasome
This film is obviously a Masterpiece, the Greatest Film in American cinema [from a list of brilliant ones], but that scene at 6:23 gets the vote for the greatest scene in that film, it is so mesmerizing, so deep, so much life and emotion between father and son, the scene that defines the Masterpiece.
Could you imagine a remake of this movie?! I pray each day just to don’t happen.
Yes, they'd change it to Fairy Godmother and have trans people in it.
It's one of the greatest mob movies of the 70's❤love the first two😊
That kick to Sonny's head maybe the most unnecessary kick in cinematic history.
Shows the hate they had towards him
@@needforspeed9521 but it wasn't personal..it was business
In the book this part is completely different, they shot Sonny's face ripping off his nose.
I agree with you. Although his name's spelled Sonny; not Sunny. There
wasn't much of any "sunshine" about this character.
I thought it was to foreshadow Carlos involvment with Sonnys death because after he beat the crap out of him he kicked him in his face
Godfather 1972 movie is a gem 💎
The whole movie is iconic scenes
Wao those murders scenes looks much more real than what we get nowadays 50 years back then 😂😂😂😂
Wat about the police chiefs death, got shot on the head and still was moving fine few a few secs
@@billross9132 guns back then weren't so strong as they are in nowadays.
@@geonneon4141 that is simply a complete overstatement, even a pistol from the 1800s can put down a man when shot in the head

The Godfather movies were Absolute class. from the days when the story and the acting mattered more than todays special effects, and todays violently shacking the camera, and averaging less than 1 second per screen shot of todays movies.
3 legends at once sharing screen
Dunno why but Don Corleone’s passing makes me sad.
he was presented as a lovable character. An ideal respectable family man, who was calm and averted violence.
There is a horse that disagrees with you 😅
the whole of 3 hour of this movie is iconic 🦁
These videos is the thing we need
Al pacino nailed every fucking scene
You do know they take several 'takes' right? Of course the final cut they 'nailed' the scene. Duh.
Don Vito died honourably playing with his grandchild, though harbours those deep regrets, he did not witness Michael become Senator , Governor or something like that.
It's a Masterpiece
The 70s were such an epic decade for movies.
50 Years Gone 🥺 Still Masterpiece 👌 Background Music 🎶
I like how every “iconic scene” is just someone dying
The baptism scene in the end was a pure masterpiece
Mario Puzo's The Godfather is one of the greatest film ever made for all time. The masterclass collection of iconic scenes. My most favourite is scene #1. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
i love how 1 of sonny's punches is no where near connecting yet they still added a sound effect and carlos still reacts to it XD
Sonny: I wont make my sister widow
Proceed beating up Carlo
Michael: I wont make my sister widow
Proceed to kill Carlo
It's easy to find iconic scenes in iconic movies
Godfather 1 & 2 legendary movies
Only words for movie are epic, cult, masterpiece cinema
Definitely needed Luca Brasi's death scene in this.
Part two , patience....
Luca Brasi was a real psychopathic monster, according to the novel.
@@SergioKa66 yes, I read the novel and you're right. The movie makes him almost sympathetic.
Still gold to this day , unbelievable how this movie was wrll made.
This series should definitely be included in the world heritage list.
When he dropped that gem on Michael like it was nothing "Whoever comes to you with the Barzzini meeting...." He taught Michael well...
"Hello Carlo" (Call me St Peter 'cause it's your final moment of life)
One of the most underrated moments in film
The best movie of the century. From a survey done on the late 90s.
This movie set the bar for all "Mob" movies to follow. Without this movie, classics such as Casino, The Untouchables and Goodfellas would never have existed.
Two people who have not seen The Godfather all I just got to say is watch it watch one through three. The movie is something else.it's like one best gangster films ever hands down
The godfather las mejores movies. Los mejores actores..la mejos orquesta musical y las mejores interpretaciones ..una pieza maestra ..unas joyas es lo q son !!!!😍🌹😍🇺🇾🇮🇹
You would have to say.. Pacino’s greatest role
One of the great movie of all time.
I ll never stop watching this movie, lt is one of my favourite
When I'd go visit my Mom, first thing I'd do is put The Godfather in the VHS player.
The most iconic scene is right after the opening credits and ends when the end credits starts
True - so true! The whole movie is iconic! But the second, with shots from Sicily gives me the chills down my spine!
Every shot was Fantastic
Me encanta la cara de asesino que pone Willis Chichio cuando encierra a Cuneo en la puerta y lo masacra.
Zero complaints about De Niro in Part 2 but I do wonder what could've been if Brando had come back to play a younger Vito, without the makeup, gruff voice etc, he may have found even more room to work with than he said he enjoyed the first time round. Unlikely if you consider the award debacle, but if we stay in this hypothetical world, he might've landed a 2nd Oscar in 2 years for the same role.
The idea of him as Vito but moving how he did in "Waterfront", especially in the scenes with Fanucci is tantalising... but even all that said, likely for the best how it went down, as De Niro's intro allowed for Pacino to flourish centre stage, Brando's return may have stepped on his spotlight.
i like both films as they are.
part three? -meh, not so much
The way he flops hid head into the table so hard, the table flips over 😂😂.. my boy went down hard as hell 😂😂..
2:44 That was a brutal right...
He punched with so much force, the shockwave from his punch probably did more damage than his own fist!
O_o
One of the best films ever made and yet Part 2 STILL managed to top it!
Iconic masterpiece 👑
Never again will this level of class be reached again

⭐️🏆⭐️ The Godfather is one of the top ten, best films ever made.
CZcams: No porn or bad language here.
CZcams: Brutal deaths? That’s ok.
Brando's makeup was so convincing as a sick old man.
Most beautiful movie ever done acting story scenario music 🎶 and directed the best of the best of all times. We were so lucky to live long enough to enjoy it this wonderful work of art.
I have never watched the movies but that one scene where he becomes the godfather in 2 senses of the word is so beautiful and brutal at the same time. I wish movies were this deep nowadays.
The only time Michael really ever smiled was when he was looking at Apollonia
No he didn't.
When he came into her house the smile on his face was sexual. That is how a man looks when he has a beautiful women in front of him who he plans to have. In a book he didn't smile but that is bc Puzo had enough space to describe what was happening to him....his blood was boiling with lust, he is like an animal who wants to take her....that is Al acting thunderstorm which was biological manifestation of arousal, sexual eraction.
He smiled at the table bc he saw necklace around her neck. She is first deadly serious, than she TOUCHES the necklace around her neck and smiles back.
That Coppola's way of showing you what was stated in a book....she was manipulative goldigger who married him for money, and he knew it.
During wedding he never even looked at her. Apollonia was a juvenile semiliteral imbecile that Michael conned into marrying him at the hight of the danger, in the middle of the mafia war and killed.
Spectacle of hypocrisy that was their wedding is how they found him...he knew he was putting her in danger and he said nothing.
After he satisfied himself he was over.
Passed the bedroom scene there was nothing between them. He is teaching how to drive a car bc he promised her...that is how he lure her into marrying him. But Michael doesn't want to that.
He is bored, he doesn't have anything to do...
She died he came home and told Kay he loved her and cared about her.
He turned himself into a savage animal to protect Kay so what happened in Sicily wouldn't happen to a woman he actually loved.
When Kay left he got diabetes, aged over night, stopped smoking, drinking, never touched another woman for the rest of his life or took the ring of his finger.
Most romantic moment in trilogy is Michael and Kay on the dance floor and Michael going to New England to declare love for Kay, more than a year after he came back from Sicily bc he wanted to make sure it was safe for her.
Michael coming back from Cuba, walking into the house while Kay was sitting at the table sawing was described by Coppola as " like Penelope waiting for her Odyssey ".
