- One of the top 5 questions I get is: I sweat a lot during & post-workout and it's hot where I live. How do I keep my hair fresh after working out if I am only supposed to wash 2-3x per week?
In this video, I break down my exact post-workout hair care process.
I only wash my hair 1x per week and workout 5x per week, so it's definitely possible.

I really appreciated that one, and the head banging vid was really funny
I'm a girl and have just found your channel. I love all the information you put out. Easy to follow and very helpful in figuring out how to care for your hair. I have curly hair and workout almost everyday. So thanks for the tips. I really love your videos.
Thanks!!
Agreed lots of tips for women....no bs just scientific facts...I have board straight thin. Thank you
Tips:
1. Use dry shampoo before workout.
2. Make a loose high bun during workout.
3. Keep your hair in a high ball when you take a shower after workout.
Use a hair cap.
Use a blow dryer in cold setting to evaporate all the sweat.
I workout 6 days a week so it means I have to shampoo my hair straight 6 days?
@@neeshagrg4620 this vid is just an ad to sell dry shampoo. never mind. such a bullshit to fill your hair with chemistry and leave it for several days "not to damage it with normal wash".
@@ilyanizhnik6874 true
@@ilyanizhnik6874 like if you sweat and affaird of Shampoo washing then just wash it with water, it wash all your sweat out. Why even bother using chemical to absord you sweat lmao
@@danhvong1653 yeah like pouring a liter of deodorant on your sweaty skin instead of washing it and thinking that it's better for your skin.
Omg a CZcamsr that speaks for people that have oily scalps!! I see all these adds for dry scalp products. Finally some tips I can actually use to better my hair, tysm!
Well thanks man👍🏼. In quarantine I grow out my hair and I don't feel like cutting it out but was worried about my sweaty hair. Life saving tip!!
I guess This is the most recommended video for everyone. Thanks man
After 3 months, you have helped my hair to look like black satin curtain. I thank you so much!
Pam's painting from The Office; In the background 😂
That’s awesome
That head banging clip tho 🤘🏼🤣
Dope video Trav! Great advice and knowledgeable tips 🙏🏽
mannn you are my new og when I am first time trying to grow my dreads thanks to the quaratine lockdown only good thing it did to me was stopping me from getting my hairs chopped looking forward to more informative videos like these...
God bless you for this! I live in SW Arkansas, I sweat like crazy, and I work retail-running round stocking shelves, helping customers, and wellll just like a chicken with my head cut off. I’ve been trying to find out if I should rinse my curls every evening after sweating all day although I know it’s not good to wash your hair everyday. So thank you so much for answering my question!! So glad I stumbled across your channel! You have amazing hair Trav!
I’m a girl and I love your tips 👍. The dry shampoo before a workout is a game changer!
Snap I’m the same, he’s great!
THE LAST PART WAS SO CUTE, OH MY WORD,,,,,,, 🥺💖✨
I'm one of the guys who asked you this question both here and at the fb page.. Thanks for answering.. Loved the bloopers anyway 😂
The edits are absolutely perfect and sensational 😂😭
I just wanted to say for anyone like me that is kind of picky about inactive ingredients like butane in dry shampoo, Redkin makes a powder dry shampoo that literally takes all of those harsh chemicals out of the equation. Trav actually showed the exact one I use in this video.
Or you can use good ol' cornstarch and coca power in a shaker.
Man u helped me a lot. It's just kinda hard to handle curly hair so they look fresh without showering.
I love how I can get all the products you recommend at the walmart i work at
Hello I want to say that you have some of the best hair I've ever seen on a man. I turn 55 soon, and I'm happy and surprised that I actually can grow my hair out. so I'm paying attention to hair Care. Thanks for all you do
I love long hair ❤️growing it out and on 5th month of the process.. Thanks a lot Trav ❤️❤️
Your videos are great! Thank you for the great tips!
I love your hair in this video. Probably your best look other than your current curly look.
yt just randomly suggested the video and it's gonna save my life. Long haired bro here, washing it everyday after crossfit and this past year I lost a ton of hair because of it. Thank you!
You literally just saved my wet laundry from sitting overnight!
I felt so called out having left my laundry overnight, Moving it to the drier This morning and then being reminded AGAIN by this video that It has been in the drier since first thing this morning and I forgot to do my damp ironing.
I'm a grease head in the true sense, needed this one Trav
Dude thanks for this video. I usually would just condition my hair after a workout, but this makes it so much easier and healthier.
Thank you for the insight ☺️ also, love the hair brother!
Thanks Trav its been 2 weeks!! Since I subscribed your channel your tips are awesome👌
Thanks!
I really appreciate the video, thanks Trav!
Actually quite educational. Very useful tips 👍🏼
You are a hero man, Im going to try it out!
I think you are by far the best CZcams channel for long hair for men. But I do think Washing your hair twice a week is the perfect balance every 2 to 3 days
Very good stuff happy to find this one!
I dont know what's more awesome...trav answering a question I have been thinking about since I started growing my hair 😁....or the fact you dropped an avatar last air bender reference 🤔🙃.....absolutely amazing
Periodt Mamas

I’m a tri athlete in highschool and this saved my life since I’m on my journey to grow a afro🙏🏽
I'm a girl and find your videos very informative. I found your page from your dandruff video to try and help my hubby and your tips have helped improve his scalp. Also like the movie/ anime/ cartoon references that you use in your videos all the time, they always make me laugh! Thanks for this great video and P.S. your wife is so cute! :D

katara definitely does work on me every time I hit the gym
Dooooode! That laundry example was perfect.
Thanks!
Thank you!!! Now I can confirm the problem was washing it daily!
You're a lifesaver Trav!!
Like you've said. Genetics has a lot to do, cause my bf washes it daily and he has great, shiny, soft and strong hair! Argh! I hate it!! Lol
It is so true..Genetics is something you can't compete with
Extremely helpful, thanks!
Very informative! I can definitely use these tips.
This is so helpful! Thanks!
Loved the video.... it was a much needed one...Thank You ❤️
Great tips, i never heard about the hair dryer trick 👍🏽
Really appreciate your work buddy thank you
Love you're videos dude
The Avatar fan base is growing amazingly, I love it.
Very smart video! I appreciate the demo of how to tie the bun up in the hair, I benefit from visual teaching 👍.
hey Trav, love your content. For me specifically, I have dry scalp and coarse. curly hair, and workout in really tropical weather. Which one of the dry shampoos will you recommend for me? Cuz those mentioned are for oily scalps
That waterbending bit got me good
Thank you for not trying to make us buy hundreds of dollars worth of products like other CZcamsrs in order to maintain our hair after the gym 🙏
HI Trav. I'm enjoying the channel and the FB group. My hair is long now. I'm from Houston. TEXAS BABY!!
Ending was unexpectedly Cute... Both of you stay healthy & blessed always
Thanks for the tips ❤
Good, I never heard about dry shampoo before. Thanks!
Nice start bro 😁😊😊
Enjoyed the video and great content on how to take care of your hair and dealing with sweat from workouts. I predominantly work out outside by walking for exercise. I have to wear a hat to protect my hair and face from the sun and wear sunscreen to protect my exposed skin. I live in Texas also. We have heat and high humidity being 40 miles from the Gulf Coast. Great bloopers and nice to meet your wife. Keep the videos coming.
No worries on the hat if you have to. The other tips should help take care of that
I really loving this video
Awesome. Thanks. Also. Is that dunder miflin in the background?!
Your hair is stunning x
One more excellent discussion.
Hey man love your video! I wonder could you maybe do a video on how to do ragnars lothbrok's hair braids without necessarily having an undercut ? Like how to get that good ragnar look without having to do an undercut
Hi. Love your vids. So how do you wash or groom your hair on the daily basis? This concerns bed hair and all. Also do you clean your hair before going to bed? Thanks
I just came across this video, and super informative, thank you! I just have a quick question, I'm also a runner, and I run during my lunch break sometimes, so I can't really do a bun for a run...is there a hair tie you would recommend? I'm am definitely changing my HIIT workout hair routine though!
Katara's reference made me subscribe hahah great tips bro
Thanks dude! I'm in my 30s and retaining hairs starts becoming a concern
Thanks Trav, i’ve used dry shampoo and it gave me better feeling. I’m wonder what you do to get rid of itchy feeling on your scalp after workout. Should i rinse my scalp with cold water and air dry it?
0:14 gave me Pam vibes for some reason. And then at 4:39 you bent down and it focused on the painting of the Office and I was like OMG!
I got a long way to go to get hair like yours. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep going. Last time I hacked it off when it got too hot in the summertime.
I think the best liquid for our hair is the sweat from our scalp.so if you always sweat, dont wash/shampoo.just use your sweat to style your hair after.but some people have body/sweat odor though.
Thanks sense full video on post workout
Hey man, love your videos! Could you either recommend or make a video on the process of growing your hair out as a curly haired man? I can only find either “growing your hair out” videos by strait haired men, or “my routine for styling my already long curly hair” by curly haired men. I’m not finding any in between or awkward stage advice from curly haired men.
I've always had long hair, and these are very helpful tips! I did stop using a hair dryer, and just air dry now, is that cool? My hair is probably just like yours, I'll be sure to check your videos for more tips bro! 👍
I would suggest the concentrator nozzle for the blow dryer in order to prevent blowing otherwise decent hair about.
Super helpful
my hair is longer then yours in the video and finding your channel is such a great thing to know we have here on earth cuz like... hows a noob gonna figure this out before its too late?!
1:53 "this video will change your life", I'm rich now
Nice video
How to keep our hairs so smooth like you. Make a video of your daily hair care routine
I used to be a fitness instructor who worked out 3-4 times a day. My scalp is also the first place on my head that sweats. I have thick hair and my scalp doesn’t breathe well. This was also before dry shampoo being a common thing. I would rinse my hair in the shower (no shampoo and no conditioner) . I would rinse with hotter water and then finish with colder water. Then i would blow dry the whole thing or just dry my roots and braid it. This worked for my as i do not have an oily scalp.
Thanks for the video Trav😁
Well that Avatar reference earned you a subscribe. I'm training Hung Gar which is as you may have heard the basis for Earthbending and no matter what we do, most of us sweat like crazy. So much sometimes, that when sparing we have to look out for small puddles to not fall flat on our faces .After having gotten used to short 30's style hairstyles for ten years, working out that hard with long hair has brought up exaclty those challenges.
I'll try the dry shampoo routine out asap as I allready had that idea in mind since some weeks.
Thank you! ❤
Thank you very much for your advice. Any other advice on this topic for us who have long hair but not long enough to make a bun?
Takin notes like I’m back in school
very helpful Thank you
Hey Trav, absolutely enjoyed the video, but I have a question. What's the reason for not letting your hair get wet while showering and then going through the process of blow drying the sweat and applying dry shampoo, instead of simply rinsing your hair with water, cause that 'cleans' the hair a little bit too right?
The water is hypotonic to the hair, meaning it expands with water and then contracts again, resulting in strain on the hair
Hi, one thing I am wondering is do still try to optimise your hair being at its cleanest by washing your hair on a certain day in contrast to the gym?
New to dry shampoo. I wash my hair only twice a week. How often is too often for dry shampoo in between those washes? Also after “spritzing” roots should we be combing/ working the product through the rest of our hair? Or just leaving it to sit on the roots ?
Kinda wholesome video imo
Thanks to you my hair looks better. If I was a guy I’d for sure take that Geralt de Rivia tutorial
Thanks a lot brother
