  • Did you know there is a small Czech town in the north of the Czech Republic that is important for Philippino history? Most Czechs don't know it but in 1883, revolutionary hero of the Philippines Jose Rizal visited Litomerice to see his best friend Ferdinand Blumentritt. The relationship between these two men left its marks not only in Litomerice but also in Manila, where you can find today the famous Blumentritt road. In today's video we will show you which places in Litomerice remind us of Jose Rizal and Ferdinand Blumentritt and how their friendship shaped Philippino history.

    Fun fact:
Ferdinand Blumentritt's grandmother of father side is a descendant of the governor of the Philippines by the name of Alcazar.
Andres Alcazar, in fact served as governor and attorney-general from February to December, 1616, during the absence and after the death of the Governor-General, Juan de Silva. This Alcazar might have been a forefather of Blumentritt. Thus the bow is drawn from the Philippines to Prague and Leitmeritz and through the friendship with Jose Rizal back to the Philippines

From Wenceslas Square to Charles bridge standing over the Vitava river, the Church of Our Lady of Victories, also referred as the Shrine of the Infant Jesus of Prague, Jewish quarter and walking down the old streets, of course the famous Prague medieval astronomical clock was a unique experience. Prague’s middle age Romanesque and Gothic architecture is just phenomenal and impressive.

My husband and I went to Litomerice in 1966 when we were newly married. We went to the town hall and when the Czech officials found out we were Filipinos, they showed us Rizal's signature in a huge registry book for visitors, then they took us to the hotel where he stayed. There was a plaque at the entrance commemorating his stay.. They attached a small curtain on it so I could formally unveil the plaque. In those days Filipinos did not travel to socialist countries. When my husband told them
that I am a great grand niece of Jose Rizal, they were excited at the coincidence.

Sadly because religion is still big in Philippines, meaning Spain won. Rizal was a Grand Master Freemason(Ancient Freemasonry not the modern materialist rich guys club) not Catholic or Christian. Until Filipinos free themselves from chains of Colonialism(Churches) theyll never think for themselves. Though sadly he only left hidden symbolism in his works about Freemasonry/Alchemy. Filipinos at that time cant comprehend Freemasonic teachings so he made it into novels. Freemasonry/Alchemy is achieving the highest evolved form of the mind, how he became a Polymath super genius by realizing what Leonardo da Vinci(also a Grandmaster Freemason) has unlocked, the full potential of the human mind, today known as Cognitive Science. :) This is what Rizal wanted Filipinos to realize one day, he specifically said "I'm not writing for this generation, but for the future generations". Filipinos just need to re-decipher his writings. If you search La Sibilia Cumana, it's a prophetic board game Rizal created out of Freemasonic teachings. Very interesting. If Pinoys can realize this is how he hid meanings within meanings his literature will show a whole new dimension. :) Except no, the Spanish School System made Rizal a task for school WORK, and solely focus on dramas of the Characters. Not what Rizal actually meant hidden in plain sight.
