What do you think was the weirdest tech from EUROBIKE this year?
Got to love the random 'potential IP infringement' booths at trade shows - it's always worth turning up early on the first day to see which ones get raided by the trademark police (who are particularly fun in Germany!).
All the trademarks and copyrights assaults. I love how communism stimulates creativity and innovation! 💀🤦🫣
I personally don’t want electronics on my bike. It’s just more stuff to go wrong, plus I can actually fix mechanical parts myself.
The thought of having to charge my mech, remote, dropper, remote and battery if it’s an emtb (and probably brake levers soon) just to go out a rip in the woods sounds like hell 😂
👆This, absolutely
My AXS stuff has been more dependable and better working than my mechanical
@@livefreeandshred9818 yeah that may be the case but you still need to charge it and it’s the beginning of a slippery slope where most of the components need charged & I’m not interested in that at all, it’s a mtb 😂 My mechanical drivetrain works flawlessly too but it doesn’t need to be charged and I can fix it myself.
@@Crinko958 i already dislike having to charge my front and rear lights, i will 100% forget to charge my derailleur
Back in the Day , GARY FISHER WAS ABOUT THE BEST BIKE YOU COULD GET
#quiz - Gary Fisher's first bike brand was simple called 'MountainBikes' (no gaps, no spaces!) - started with Charlie Kelly in 1979.
Love how Gary just strolls through and starts chatting up. He's the most eclectic guy. My first dual sus was a Fisher Sugar 2 plus. Ah the memories!
Like Owen's painted nails in the heated grip demo 🤣
Never was too interested in heated grips, but now I can see the advantages. Toes and hands are first body parts to really feel the effects of the cold. If I lived in a cold climate I’d buy a pair and use them with heated socks.
I could feel the advantage in regular grim cold and wet conditions - I mean they feel like they'd be great in cold and dry too - interesting tech!
Cheers
Owen
My first "proper" mountain bike was a Gary Fisher in 1996 😊
Owen. The woodern bike wouldn't catch my eye. I'd leave my glasses on.
The Trinx looks the part !
Holy cow a Trinx! I got one of their bikes years ago for my son when he was young and getting started and I wasn't sure he would stick with mountain biking.
Gary Fisher called his company mountain bikes lol the OG ❤
#askgmbntech - I know Anna got to do it, (and so did Doddy back in the day), but seeing him geek out about Gary, I am looking forward to seeing Owen get to Marin and get some time in with Gary along with Charlie, Tom, Otis, Joe both on the trails and in the museum. I was fortunate enough to do the legends ride out a couple of times (last time was with Peaty when he got into the Hall of Fame) and just hearing about the early days of Mountain Biking whilst on the trails with those guys was awesome.
That bmx could have had an oilslick chain, pretty sure sram and gusset make them
Owen is great at this - well done, Sir
Thank you kindly!
Cheers
Owen
Loved seeing all this new tech thank you!
Glad you like it - any standout favourites?
Cheers
Owen
@@OwenBikeNerd Oh for sure, the wooden bike was just beautiful. Love the TRINX, that was my favourite for sure. The Mother Of Pearl rims!!! OMG i would LOVE them!
Owen went looking for the weird and different when the personification of the weird and different found him. Some guys have all the luck. :)
Great work Owen! Quality content!👍🏻
Thank you!
Cheers
Owen
Awesome stuff
#quiz - MountainBikes was Gary's first. What a great cameo. My first real mountain bike was a red Gary Fisher Wahoo, and second was a purple Big Sur.
Must say would love to see Mother Of Pearl dork discs!
Actually can they just make a wheel without spokes and have a Mother Of Pearl disc wheel? 🥰😍😎
Nice nail varnish when showing the heated grips Owen....... 😂
2:18 that 'internal cable route' in not very internal to be honest. Also easy to break in a position like that.
Cheers Owen 👊
Gary Fishers first bike was a Legnano
Interesting show. Looks like you have to wade thru a mile of crap to find a few bits of usable well thought out innovation.
Sigeyi is a powermeter brand from South Africa 💪
Brilliant - thanks for the info - I'll have to do more research on them - it looked great!
Cheers
Owen
Gary Fishers first brand was MountainBikes
My YT Capra Uncaged 12 also has no Cable Routing Option for Dropper or Rear Mech.
It is fitted with XO Transmission, Reverb Axs and Flight Attendant.
Wireless only frame… do they think every rider is a dentist?
I'm going to guess the aluminum version will have mechanical ports
@@ish474 they said the frame is made for wireless only by specialized so unlikely
Suspension is "damped"...not "dampened". Unless you're getting it wet.
SKS have done a click valve adaptor! People are now complaining you have to cut the previous one off your existing pumps in the online forms but just buy another pump there will be all in ones soon! Love the click valve sick of my presta bending!
I see no advantage for the consumer of the new SRAM OEM T Type groupset, only for the Bike manufacturers. It will reduce the initial cost of the bike, allowing the manufacturuer to offer the bike at a lower price point, but when parts wear our out or break ,the replacement SRAM options are expensive. Sure you could remove it all and replace with a cheaper mecanical groupset, but that is still going to be outlay and may not even be possible if the manufacture has cut costs even more and made no allowance for cable routing on the frame so it is 'wireless only'.
That ETMX reminds of a stealth bomber
MountainBikes - was the first brand! He tried to patent the name unsuccessfully
trinx brand is very famous here in asia but no on US and EU
I think gary fischer's first bike brand was MountainBikes.
Same drivetrain as the one seth tested by the looks of it!
The machines building wheels broke niples and spokes. Better done by hand
Personally I don't want any electronic stuff on my bike, it's more stuff to go wrong plus I can fix mechanical stuff.
HOT
A new standard for valves, Universal derailleur hangers
NOT
Wireless only bikes, headset routed cables
Gary Fisher 🙌🏻
Gary Fisher is the Keith Richards of mountain biking
Dimondback
Hm .. wonder what its like riding this all wooden bike - also, how long does it last and how durable is it - because, it sure wont be cheap
Sadly I "woodn't" know what the bike rode like!
sorry not sorry for the rubbish pun
Cheers
Owen
Owen it just seam a little rushed, what you managed to get through in a very short time is great, but a half hour would be better
We could have done hours of new stuff to be fair - theres so much new stuff - but I feel / fear even more Eurobike stuff might be too much for some!
Cheers
Owen
2:04 Buy human made look for the label by human made l o l.
MountainBikes #quiz
Good to see Tom Hollands slow older brother has found employment.
Oil slick shoes oil slick jersey oil slick pants oil slick socks oil slick helmet and you must bathe in oil slick before you ride that bike ❤❤❤
Legnano
MountainBikes
Nope
Of seeing the latest new tech but can we watch the product more and less of you. No offense but you only showed a very quick shot of a really cool bike called the slider and the rest of the time it was him talking about the bike. 3 seconds shot of the bike and 30 seconds of a shot of just him talking
Constructive feedback is always welcome!
Cheers
Owen
Maybe I’m wrong, but I could have sworn there was an e-bike channel for e-bike content
Cry a river holy s..
Timestamps absolutely rubbish GMBN. why even bother when this is the effort you put in?
