Beginner Stillwater Fly: Marabou Leech/baby Damsel

  • This fly only contain 2 material (other than hook and bead) which make it a pretty cost effective fly to tie and a killer pattern in Stillwater. This fly resemble a leech or a damsel nymph, both are stable food sources for many trout species in Stillwater. Tie these in olive, black, grey, or white and easily fill your box with it.
    Material
    Curve hook
    tungsten bead (or brass)
    Wire
    Marabou in colour of your choice

    If you shorten the tail I’ve used this pattern for scuds and man does it work. Great tie 👍

      I agree! I tie them in different length base on where and the time im fishing. They both work i think application and context play a role! Variation is usually the key to success on slower day
